Chapter 1735: 50 Revenge
Chapter 1735: Chapter 50 Revenge
“The captain has retreated, quickly give chase.”
A few careless individuals saw the big BOSS leave and didn’t want to let the ghost ship get away, so they hurriedly went back after it. However, more people stayed behind, looking puzzled.
Conquerors who made it to the Holy Land were almost no minor characters, at least their observational skills were good. They noticed the captain had clearly been stunned for a moment, having suddenly stopped, indicating it left after noticing something.
“Someone is using us as bait,” said a conqueror, seething with anger. “Let’s go see who is so audacious.”
A few more people rushed back.
“What do you plan to do?” Miranda asked Tang Zheng. “Since the other side dared to do this, it means they have a well-thought-out plan, probably the team that first discovered the ghost ship.”
Crash, boom, before Tang Zheng could respond, a distant tremor suddenly came through the cave, the ground cracked, stones fell from above, and seawater flooded in.
“Retreat!” Tang Zheng shouted at Jiang Xiuming and quickly left the cave.
Let these people fight it out to the death. Whoever wants the ghost ship will have to go through a blood battle, and by then, Tang Zheng can take advantage by using the female gunner’s advantage to sink them.
“This guy is really ruthless!” Jessica was very displeased, staring at Tang Zheng’s back and smirking.
“Let’s go too,” Miranda thought of going back to take a risk, but Tang Zheng’s decision made her change her mind. This lad almost never made mistakes, apparently, he sensed something.
Carrying Zi Xin, Zhuo Lie rushed into the captain’s cabin in one breath and saw the three-masted model ship made of bones, emanating wisps of black mist, like tentacles stretching into the surrounding walls of the ship.
“Quickly, water it with blood to initiate the fusion,” Zi Xin urged. Before boarding, he had already prophesied how to capture the ghost ship.
Zhuo Lie didn’t even have time to draw his dagger; he removed the protective gear from his arm, bit down hard, and ripped away the flesh, then swung, spilling blood over the model ship.
The blood was immediately swallowed up, the model ship greedily absorbing nutrients like a thirsty desert traveler.
Zhuo Lie grasped the model ship, and the black mist turned into sharp arrows, slicing his skin.
The skeleton sailors stationed all over the ship went crazy, charging toward the captain’s cabin.
“Not enough blood,” Zi Xin said from the hatch, suppressing both sides with a longbow to buy time for Zhuo Lie.
Zhuo Lie gritted his teeth and directly bit through his artery, blood gushing out like a fountain, instantly overwhelming the model ship but soon absorbed again.
Reaching out to touch, this time the model ship did not resist, Zhuo Lie grabbed it and forcefully jabbed it into his own chest.
Thud, blood splattered everywhere!
The figurehead pierced into the flesh first, and as Zhuo Lie exerted force, the hull followed suit entering.
The captain felt its connection with the ghost ship getting weaker, anxiously stomping its feet, but the winding passages delayed its return time.
With a shudder, Zhuo Lie completely devoured the model ship, then felt a flesh-and-blood connection with the deck beneath his feet, as if it were a part of his body, like an extension of his own limbs.
The skeletons immediately ceased their attacks, standing respectfully in place, awaiting the new owner’s orders.
Although Zhuo Lie was still in the cabin, he could clearly see the surroundings of the cave.
The sea monster figurehead of the ghost ship was now his eyes, ‘seeing’ the return of the captain and conquerors, Zhuo Lie gave a sinister smile and waved his right hand fiercely.
“Bombardment!”
Zhuo Lie’s roar echoed throughout the ship, and the skeleton gunners in the gun bay immediately loaded the cannons, aiming at the enemy.
“Damn it, stop attacking,” the captain bellowed with rage. Because it was a body of death without flesh, it couldn’t fuse with the model ship, which was the core, and now Zhuo Lie got the advantage.
However, the captain had been the master of the ghost ship for over a hundred years, the connection couldn’t be severed instantly, so the skeleton sailors were influenced, subconsciously avoiding the cannon shell.
The conquerors who came chasing weren’t so lucky; the shells hit the ground, immediately summoning skeletons to attack and kill them.
“Haha, I got it!” Despite Zhuo Lie being drenched in blood and looking very dismal, his state was incomparably good.
Massive energy coursed through every limb and bone.
“Congratulations!” Zi Xin said happily.
The ghost ship is a unique S-grade prop, and being both offensive and defensive, on the sea, its combat power will soar linearly.
“Let’s go, for revenge,” Zhuo Lie grinned, “Tang Zheng, you better wait for me, don’t let the others die out.”
Zhuo Lie charged into the passage, and the skeletons immediately bowed their heads, standing on both sides.
“Every man to his station, operate the ghost ship, set sail,” Zhuo Lie’s voice spread across the entire ship, and a hundred skeleton sailors immediately started bustling around, shouting their chant.
“Damn thief, give me back my ship,” the captain jumped onto the deck, seeing Zhuo Lie running towards the helm, and immediately threw his curved knife.
“Steel Gate!”
Zhuo Lie clapped his hands fiercely, and two huge iron gates suddenly appeared in the air, closing rapidly as if iron gates, squeezing the curved knife into a thin iron disc.
The captain soared into the air like a big bird, attacking Zhuo Lie with a curved knife.
Zhuo Lie unleashed his potential, his entire arm instantly covered in steel, and punched towards the captain.
The curved knife struck the arm, sparks flying everywhere.
Bang, the captain was sent flying by the tremendous force.
“Haha, small fry!” Zhuo Lie laughed heartily, “Steel Armature!”
Above the captain’s head, an executioner’s slasher from medieval Europe appeared, rapidly descending, aiming to chop his head.
The ship suddenly tilted at a seventy-degree angle, causing the attack to miss.
“Hmm?” With only a moment’s doubt, Zhuo Lie understood the reason, “Damn, this guy still has a connection with the Ghost Ship.”
Zhuo Lie wanted to kill the captain, but Zi Xin shouted anxiously.
“Set sail quickly, those people are coming up.”
The skeleton sailors were numerous, but apart from causing minor trouble for the Conquerors, they couldn’t hinder their progress. After observing for a few seconds, they decided to climb onto the deck and watch the fight from a distance, knowing the captain wouldn’t care about them as he was focused on reclaiming his ride.
“Steel Prison!”
Zhuo Lie unleashed his ability, a cage made of steel appeared, imprisoning the captain. Then he ran towards the helm.
A model ship emerged from Zhuo Lie’s chest, extending countless black mist tendrils that connected to the helm, delivering energy. When the sail fully rose, it seemed to be caught by a gust of gale.
With a bang, the Ghost Ship shot out diagonally!
The rock walls on both sides collapsed rapidly, and a few seconds later, Zi Xin’s view suddenly widened.
“Too late by a step.” The Conquerors watched the ghost ship shoot off like a cannon shell, filled with rage, they had no choice but to quickly turn back; at that moment, they regretted their greed and not leaving sooner.
Tang Zheng and Jiang Xiuming returned to the sea ship at the fastest speed, not even responding to the inquiries from their group members, when they saw a ship burst out from the massive crevices of the rock wall like an eagle, appearing in the blue sky.
The pirates near Redbeard Island were dumbfounded; they had never seen a flying ship before, and the next second a tragic wail spread out.
“Cannon fire.” In the midst of Zhuo Lie’s roar, the cannons thundered, striking the pirate ship like a hail of cannon shells.
“Signal with flags, follow the flagship and retreat at full speed.” Tang Zheng observed through the telescope, squinting his eyes upon seeing Zhuo Lie, immediately howling at the signalman,
“With such a chaotic battle, it’s a prime opportunity to fish in troubled waters, why leave?” Jiang Xiuming questioned while signaling and simultaneously maneuvering the sea ship to retreat.
Typically, the more forces involved, the harder it is to fight decisively, as everyone guards against others. But this time it’s different, Tang Zheng and Zhuo Lie have a deep-seated enmity, and with that guy’s fiery temper, he would definitely assault the Warhammer team fiercely without any regard.
“This battle is unavoidable, so I need to choose my battlefield wisely and shake them off to fight without restraint.” Tang Zheng didn’t need to deduce that with Zhuo Lie suddenly obtaining such a treasured Ghost Ship, he would undoubtedly come charging aggressively.
Bam, the Ghost Ship crashed into the sea surface, sending a large spray of seawater into the air, causing even the skeleton sailors to momentarily falter.
The pirates began their counterattack, determined not to let others possess the Ghost Ship, even if they had to sink it.
“Trying to run? Not that easy, chase them down for me.” Zhuo Lie fixed his gaze on Tang Zheng’s sea ship, hammering the helm fiercely, summoning undead sailors.
A mire formed by black mist appeared on the ground, from which skeletons emerged, joining the battle ranks, especially the gunners, countless in number.
“First repel those ships.” Zi Xin advised.
“Open fire, open fire.” Zhuo Lie roared continuously, the gun ports on both sides of the ship firing without pause, expelling cannon shells; wisps of smoke rose, floating around like clouds.
The random shots of cannonballs struck into the pirate ships, not only causing damage but also summoning skeleton sailors, mercilessly slaughtering enemies.
Ships subjected to such dual attacks fell into chaos instantly.
“Holy crap, how deep is your hatred?” Jiang Xiuming was stunned, seeing the other side’s momentum, it seemed they wouldn’t stop without annihilating them.
The chase began between both sides, despite the Ghost Ship being a construction from a century-old sea ship, it was a demon ship, not to be measured by common logic, and thirty minutes later, they had closed the distance.
“Report to the captain, the flagship intends to stay behind and hold off the enemy, letting us retreat firmly even if we watch it get sunk.” The signalman reported to Tao Ran.
“Turn back.” Black Long Straight stubbornly decided to protect Tang Zheng as a meat shield, even if it meant death.
Dong Zixuan and Yin Shangwu made the same choice, Jiang Xiuming sighed and stayed behind, for if Tang Zheng were to die, they’d truly have no chance of winning.
Fang Zhiwen didn’t know what to do, frantically tugging at her hair, even scratching her cheeks in anxiety.
The flagship turned around, charging towards the Ghost Ship.
“If we can’t escape, then let’s fight!”
Tang Zheng observed the enemy through the monocular telescope; indeed, there were no fools among the Conquerors. Recognizing the deep-seated enmity between the Ghost Ship’s new owner and Tang Zheng, upon seeing the flagship turning back, they immediately slowed down, evidently ready to watch the battle unfold.
“You can’t run anymore, open fire, sink them!” At this moment, Zhuo Lie had waited far too long, seeing that he could finally deal with the enemy himself, his body trembled with excitement.
