Chapter 1740: Chapter 55: Summer Night Whispers
The sky is high and clouds are thin, the ghost ship cruises on the ocean, rising and falling with the sea waves!
Tao Ran, stripped of her clothes by Tang Zheng, huddled on the bed, gripping the blanket covering her tightly, like a quail, afraid to show her head.
Black Long Straight shivered continuously, out of embarrassment and anxiety.
Tang Zheng tugged at the blanket but couldn’t pull it away, seeing Tao Ran like this, he suddenly wanted to give up, turned around, and left.
“Don’t go, I beg you.” Hearing the footsteps, Black Long Straight almost burst into tears, pleading in a voice as soft as a mosquito’s. If Tang Zheng left now, she would have no face to see anyone again.
“Tao Ran, you should rest!” Tang Zheng’s old habit of indecisiveness struck again, hesitating like a man who couldn’t make up his mind.
“Brother Tang, do you want me to take the initiative?” Seeing Tang Zheng about to leave, Black Long Straight boldly tossed off the blanket covering her, the refreshing air giving her goosebumps.
Black Long Straight started crying.
Tang Zheng didn’t hesitate any longer, taking a few quick steps to the bed and embracing Tao Ran.
The rustling sound of clothes being removed resembled the chirping of crickets, and in just over ten seconds, Tao Ran was looking at Tang Zheng’s strong body, making her neck turn a deep red from embarrassment.
…
“I will do my utmost to keep you alive!” Tang Zheng said, kissing Tao Ran through the blanket, making this his promise.
The white, rich, and beautiful girl knew Tang Zheng had gone to see Tao Ran when she didn’t find him in the captain’s cabin, and then she heard Tao Ran’s moans through the door, her heart filling with jealousy at that moment.
“Tao Ran, are you there? I have something to tell you!” After knocking on the door, Fang Zhiwen’s face turned pale, knowing her little tricks couldn’t possibly fool Tang Zheng. What if she annoyed him and he stopped protecting her?
“Get up quickly, someone’s here!” Tao Ran pushed Tang Zheng, almost crying from anxiety; she didn’t want anyone to see her together with Tang Zheng.
“Go away!” Tang Zheng, who usually didn’t resort to foul language, couldn’t help but burst out, slinging his left hand with gravity to smash the utensils against the door.
The loud bang startled Fang Zhiwen, making her close her mouth; she didn’t expect Tang Zheng to not even bother hiding anything.
“No, there’s someone here.” Tao Ran anxiously held Tang Zheng’s chest.
“Ignore her, until she suffers a few losses, she won’t learn to change.”
While fighting with the captain, Fang Zhiwen always acted like a turtle hiding its head. Tang Zheng didn’t kick her out of the team, letting her fend for herself, which was already quite considerate.
Tao Ran, being a soft-hearted girl, introverted and not good with words, never mentioned their relationship when Tang Zheng put on his clothes and left the cabin.
Standing in the passage, Tang Zheng let out a long sigh of relief, then felt a deep sense of guilt; he didn’t know how to explain to Xin Lan and the Beautiful Leg Stewardess, not to mention Qin Yan, who weighed heavily on his heart.
“Actually, Sister Qin Yan, she would make the best wife for you.” Tao Ran didn’t want to bother Tang Zheng with those women’s trivial issues because she knew she wouldn’t survive until the end.
On the deck, Dong Zixuan, dressed in a neat captain’s uniform, was steering the ship; upon seeing Tang Zheng, she smiled.
“Have you made your choice?”
Earlier, the policewoman had gone to deliver food to Tao Ran, and overheard the commotion inside; however, unlike the indiscreet white, rich, and beautiful girl, she quietly left.
Tang Zheng felt embarrassed, guessing that the policewoman definitely heard his commotion.
“Why are you embarrassed? It’s not like I’ve never seen such things; during anti-prostitution busts, I’ve seen it many times.” Dong Zixuan teasingly said to Tang Zheng, “In dealing with feelings, you really don’t seem like a man, being so wishy-washy.”
“Whether I’m a man or not, isn’t for you to judge.” Tang Zheng rolled his eyes, “Go rest, I’ll steer.”
“Come on, aren’t your hips tired? Go rest for a while, if we encounter a combat, we’ll still rely on you.” Dong Zixuan subconsciously glanced at Tang Zheng’s lower body, then felt the look was inappropriate, making her face flush.
“Are you deliberately teasing me?” Tang Zheng’s expression looked slightly awkward too; he couldn’t let a policewoman outdo him, so he casually slapped her on the butt.
With a crisp sound, the echo carried far with the sea breeze.
Dong Zixuan wasn’t one to take a loss; she stretched out her right hand, grabbing Tang Zheng’s privates.
Tang Zheng certainly didn’t expect the policewoman to make this move, startling him, and then he felt her fingers tighten.
“Dare to harass a policeman? Believe it or not, I’ll crush it?” The policewoman glared at Tang Zheng, issuing a stern warning, “Do you know what happened to the first hooligan who took advantage of me?”
Tang Zheng shook his head.
“I cuffed him to the radiator’s pipe in the interrogation room for a whole day and gave him several electric baton hits down there.” The policewoman’s fingers tightened again.
“Big sister, can you let go, please?” Tang Zheng pleaded, realizing how fierce this policewoman was, definitely not to be provoked.
“Hmph!” Dong Zixuan spat, just about to leave when a wave hit, causing the ghost ship to sway violently, making the policewoman lose her balance and fall.
Instinctively, Tang Zheng helped her up, and the policewoman leaned into his arms.
“Enough, if you keep taking advantage of me, I’ll really hit you.” Dong Zixuan, unused to running away, flicked her short hair back, pretending to be calm, but her flushed neck and rapidly beating heart betrayed her feelings.
Tang Zheng shrugged his shoulders, not saying another word, afraid of deepening misunderstandings.
“Keep an eye on the ship, I’m going to take a nap.” Dong Zixuan walked into the passage, leaning against the ship’s wall, she sneakily glanced at the deck again, noticing Tang Zheng wasn’t looking her way, she felt a bit lost.
If Tang Zheng were the type of man to be a boyfriend, she wouldn’t mind, but it’s a pity he was already claimed.
“Dong Zixuan, you will find a better man.” The policewoman cheered herself on, she merely had a good impression of Tang Zheng; otherwise, why would she make slightly improper jokes with him?
Tang Zheng’s luck seemed to have arrived, he not only didn’t encounter a storm but the merchant ships appeared like fat sheep, one after another.
The speed of the ghost ship was too fast, they couldn’t shake it off, and all became captives.
“With so many ships? What to do?” Jiang Xiuming looked at the string of merchant ships behind, starting to worry; taking them along would slow down the ghost ship’s speed, but they were laden with cargo, it would feel wasteful to abandon them.
“Return to the harbor, sell them.” Dong Zixuan thought this question was quite foolish.
“Come on, even if we bought a battleship, so what, could they keep up with the ghost ship’s cruising speed?” Jiang Xiuming retorted disdainfully, “Returning is a pure waste of time, the skeleton cannoniers plus the female musketeer are enough to annihilate a fleet composed of twenty sea ships.”
“Brother Tang, something’s up.” Tao Ran, holding a telescope, saw a fleet appearing on the horizon.
“Well, let’s see if it’s as formidable as you say,” Dong Zixuan was eager to try but hadn’t issued an order because the skeleton sailors only listened to Tang Zheng.
Those captured merchant ships became uneasy, all signaling for Tang Zheng to escape; that was clearly a pirate fleet, if caught by them, they were definitely doomed.
“Sailors, full speed ahead, it’s time for combat!” Tang Zheng completely ignored those fellows, drawing his curved knife to swing it fiercely.
“Captain, look at those fat sheep!” The first mate excitedly reported, but in the next second, a look of confusion appeared on his face. These guys didn’t run away; instead, they charged right at them?
