The assassin created a Mana shield the moment he sensed William's presence, narrowly blocking a lethal strike aimed at his throat. A sharp dagger found its way into his hand and slashed at William's position, but the weapon only found air.

William teleported around the room more than a dozen times a second, opening and closing portals with extreme speed while the assassins were left dumbfounded. The few that had little Mana in their reserve couldn't use their Primary Laws and were quickly slaughtered, leaving only six enemies alive.

Making the best use of his Acceleration sub-Talent, William had ample time to construct and deconstruct portals before the Sealing Element could block him. All he had to do was keep away from the Seal Mage, whose Magic was notoriously slow despite its strength.

At this distance, creating a dozen portals simultaneously was child's play. William continued to teleport from place to place, using the Tier 6 Arrays placed beforehand to slightly increase his strength and speed.

The assassins were forced to make a decision between defending from William, attacking his portals, destroying the numerous Arrays, or retreat. With only five assassins and Su Mian from their original forty, everyone was seriously considering the latter.

Two of the assassins made a decision on the spot to activate their escape techniques, disappearing into two shadows that darted towards the nearest exit.

"Don't retreat, kill him! Fire, destroy the Space Mana!" Su Mian issued two consecutive orders to the assassins and his Fire Element, using Pills to restore his Mana as quickly as it was expended.

A raging wall of flame towering to the ceiling pushed through the room, incinerating every Mana Particle that didn't belong to the Fire Element. Similarly to when it was used to destroy the Starmetal Cannon, William had no ability to stop this attack and could only retreat to the nearest corner.

The assassins were given a short window of time to breathe, but their expressions were not any less serious than before. The two deserters left only one Seal, one Ice, and one Earth Mage, led by Su Mian.

Save for Su Mian, the others were left with only ten percent of their maximum Mana Reserve, and William didn't appear anywhere near exhaustion. In fact, the boy's creepy smile widened with every kill, as if he enjoyed the feeling of slaughter.

This type of insanity is well-known in the assassin world: battle maniac!

Of course, William wouldn't bother explaining to his enemies what made him so happy to fight, but the System knew. The shadowy figure in William's mind slapped its face in annoyance, knowing that all William cared about were the Space Rings on the assassins' fingers.

In his eyes, the assassins were nothing but hoards of loot!

Su Mian's Primary Law of Fire destroyed most of the Mana Particles belonging to the Space Element, completely blocking use of the Space Element. This method was even more powerful than opening a Domain of Fire, especially since it was only targeting a single type of Mana.

William found himself unable to create even a single portal at this point, unless both the entrance and exit were within the range of the Mana Lord bonus effect. Since the Mana Dominator Talent was currently Ascended E-Rank, the range of Mana Lord extended to 25 meters around his body, allowing him to have full control of all Mana regardless of the situation.

That said, William couldn't do much with the Space Element at this range. Aside from making it easier to use Spell Reversion and helping him to gather Mana from the environment for some of his other Spells, he'd only be able to create portals within 25 meters.

Compared to the room that was several kilometers wide and Ascended Cultivators, this distance was nothing. William would need to activate his Primary Law of Space to counter Su Mian's move.

Of course, William had another idea.

As Su Mian's Primary Law of Fire wrapped around William and tried to destroy the Mana in the range of his Mana Lord, he reached for the yellow wristband he'd created earlier. With a few taps and a hint of Mana, thousands of Light-based Arrays activated and shrouded the entire room in a bright glow.

Su Mian and the others shielded their eyes as the intensity of the glow increased to unbearable levels, as if they were staring at the sun in close proximity. Even with their hands covering their face and their eyes closed, the light pierced through their skin and eyelids to create a scene of pure white that left them dazed.

"Flashbang!" William shouted out loud, a term previously unknown to these Ascended Cultivators, but quickly understood.

The group of four equally deployed several defensive techniques, expecting William to launch an attack at that moment. Shields of Mana were cast and daggers held at specific angles to protect vital points, but William didn't make any moves.

"Scared much?" William snickered when he saw their preemptive defenses, though he didn't blame them. Rather than attack, however, William used this time to create a more complex Tier 6 Array, one that couldn't be understood at a glance or destroyed quickly unless one was a competent Array Master.

The purpose of this Array was simple and merely amplified the effects of the Light Element, but was also loaded with traps to deal with anyone that tried to destroy it. Once the assassins recovered from the temporary blindness, William tapped the wristband once more.

"Flashbang!"

Before they had time to check on their allies, the assassins were forced to fully defend once more. Su Mian had no method to handle this type of attack, nor did he understand why William carried so many unique Artifacts with special effects.

Any one of William's Artifacts would sell for dozens of Spirit Jades on the local market, sometimes hundreds! Not to mention, William's use of Arrays was extremely unique compared to other Array Masters in the Slightveil Plane. If he were to quit Cultivating and focus entirely on a career as an Array Master, William would be drowning in Spirit Jades!

Exceptional Blacksmith, Array Master, proficient in many Elements, probably knows a Primary Law or two... inexhaustible resources and seemingly infinite Mana... What the hell is this kid! Su Mian felt helpless.

He, a peerless genius with a chance to make it into the top five of this year's Slightveil Competition, completely helpless against a kid with Cultivation two whole Realms below him!

"Flashbang! Flashbang!" William continued using the wristwatch on his arm for several minutes, targeting the assassins whenever they lowered their guard or relaxed their defense.

When the light intensity of the room returned to normal, a shaky Su Mian opened his eyes to see that he was the only one left, aside from William himself. His Mana Reserve was completely empty, and the Primary Law of Fire he used earlier prevented him from accessing his Space Ring until the Mana density returned to normal.

"Just you and I." William smiled calmly while twirling a kunai around his finger.

Su Mian recognized this kunai, since it belonged to the assassin in charge of reporting to him. If anything, this told Su Mian everything he needed to know.
