Chapter 41 - 3rd Floor Exploration!
CHAPTER 41: 3RD FLOOR EXPLORATION!
Chapter 41: 3rd Floor Exploration!
The title read...
Records of Holding Back and Releasing Energy.
...
Reading the title, Ken got curious, then he opened it, read the first page, then closed the book, returned it to its place, and changed his direction.
...
Ken almost threw the book to the ground, but his respect for books didn’t allow him.
That wasn’t about spiritual energy, and he wasn’t planning on becoming a monk.
Then he came across a new book, and then another, and then another. Night came, and Ken was yet to choose a book.
That was how huge the floor was.
There were books about weapon control and even more amazing techniques for his xian liansuo, Sealed Mirage.
And though there were not many, there were some slightly better body forging techniques that Ken didn’t bother much with because he knew spirit path practitioners lacked the fundamental knowledge behind the other path.
There were a few techniques that Ken had chosen to check even without hints.
Techniques that used energy to form spiritual attacks did little damage and weren’t recommended but could take non-cultivators for a ride due to their inability to see spiritual energy.
For now he had no use for them.
He was more interested in techniques that were useful in a plethora of situations, like the efficiency records.
Speaking of which, there was an advanced version of it, Advanced Efficiency Records, or what Ken believed was a more fitting name:
Useful Records.
while the efficiency records spoke about cases where combat was the major situation, like stealth, movement, fighting, and basic weapon mastery.
The advanced version was broader, so broad in fact that Ken didn’t believe for a second that it’ll take him less than 2 months to bring it to perfection.
Heck, it even had some tricky xian liansuo moves the proficiency technique he had didn’t even include.
If he were to make it into an art, Ken believed that he would no longer be human.
Only some kind of higher being who had perfect control over his every move could possibly make sense.
Of course no cultivator would possibly be able to master it, save for possibly Foundation establishment realm elders or higher.
But Ken had Idle training to help him.
This technique was Ken’s strongest contender.
Heck, if he wasn’t impressed by any other technique, he wouldn’t think twice.
But since he was here, let him enjoy himself a little.
Time passed, and Ken’s research bore fruit in a few more techniques with striking similarities, while one was about perception.
There was a technique more specialized than the Useful Records. Something that hinted towards perfection, but in certain things, like in sociology, combat, and analysis, it was more like extremism, and reading it, Ken knew that it was far from perfect, just leads there.
It was all about the specialization. As if we took the efficiency records and, instead of spreading them far and wide to encompass a lot of subjects, focused them on one.
After checking around a good portion of the third floor, Ken decided that it was better to focus on things that could raise him even more above others. He could always choose to specialize later.
But there was one thing that stood out.
The last book...
It was a book about perception, more like a technique that enhanced the brain and could help him massively in his plans, as it encompassed things like enhanced reading, higher analysis, more critical thinking, and such.
Things that the efficiency book didn’t give.
He was already set on getting the book, but he couldn’t miss out on the efficiency book, as he needed to advance; his plans’ rate was good enough as it was now.
So after much thinking, he decided to set it aside for now and come back for it later the second he gets another 3rd-floor pass.
Thus, Ken’s 3rd-floor exploration reached an end, and he left with the Useful Records in hand.
While leaving, Ken only had to put his hand on the gate to the floor, and he found himself in front of the exit.
Looking behind him, Ken smiled once again at the wonder of this sect and headed home.
It was already midnight, and he was looking very forward to this day’s news.
-----
Once he was home, Ken took a bath to refresh himself, and while inside the courtyard bathroom, which for the occasion was powered by some formation that gave it features even more modern than Earth.
Where he could change the water temperature, the input of water, the scenery, and the bath mode, either a tub or a small waterfall, and more, like lighting and such.
The first time he tried it, he was so fascinated he took a bath twice.
Now it became a routine he got far too used to, like a drug, which was good.
He sometimes couldn’t put his hand on the usefulness of the formations that were all around the sect; sometimes... they seemed a bit too much, as if someone created anything that came to his mind...
Deciding to spend his time on the bath today as a reward for his achievements.
Ken dozed off in his tub, and his mind wandered to the realm of information to know what was going on before sleep took him.
Today...
It wasn’t some groundbreaking info. But Ken came to know of all the crazy things going on in the sect because of his little rating.
A commotion that reached even the higher-ups, those so obscure that most knew nothing about them.
While it was true that the sect treated its disciples kindly and made sure they lived a peaceful life as long as they weren’t lazy with their cultivation and did their yearly missions, hierarchy was a thing.
2 months have passed, and Ken has yet to meet a second disciple of Adam’s generation, excluding the 3rd-floor guard, not to mention inner sect disciples or elders.
And yet, there were far more important people in every corner of the sect that he came to know about daily due to his cheat.
And those same people were surprised by his achievements too...
