CHAPTER 54: HEADING OUT!

Chapter 54: Heading Out!

After the previous day’s disaster, Ken had gone on with his routine as usual.

By now, he required very minimal sleep, so he used a technique from his previous life and only slept for a total of two hours a day. That is the cumulative effect of many naps throughout the day.

This wasn’t the healthiest, but for Ken it was the most productive, and with his stronger physique this was the maximum he could go, a record he had never reached before.

From spirit forging to cultivation, he had a very productive day.

Then the next day came, and by dawn, Ken was standing at a place he had just visited for the first time.

The dock of the sect, the exit.

Right in front of a huge entrance gate with the name Spirit Mountain Sect, so grandiose, with a dragon spirit forming it.

Beyond his view were rows upon rows of massive ships, each going towards a specific direction, and one only had to pick the right one, and they’ll give you a free ride to whoever you’re planning to go to.

He only had to wait for a few minutes before Darek and two others came in his direction.

Due to having already applied for the mission, he didn’t have to meet them at the mission pagoda, so the others just signed their names and knew where to find him.

"Good morning, Ken." Darek first greeted him with a distant face and then turned to introduce the young man and girl who were beside him.

"This is Alex, and this is Marwa." He pointed at the guy and then the girl.

Ken noticed how unfamiliar the two were with each other, so he quickly deduced that the only person everybody knew here was Darek, who turned out to be surprisingly social for a gloomy-looking guy.

"Nice to meet you." Ken then moved to shake hands with the guy and bowed towards the girl, who did the same.

Alex, their teammate, was a very handsome young man, strikingly handsome to say the least. He looked like the number one celebrity in the world was acting as a cultivator.

A single look and a guy might start questioning himself. The type that struck all the zones.

He surely is a lady-killer.

On the other side, Marwa was like a Middle Eastern beauty. The type that caused wars between tribes back in Earth’s history.

She only needed a veil on her face and a coquettish smile, and Ken is sure she might get guys lining up for her hand.

He took a step back, then stole a look at Alex, then Marwa, and a plan formed in his mind.

The lady wasn’t especially modest, but she wasn’t wearing anything that could be called revealing, though the sect didn’t care how its disciples wore their clothes.

Coming from all kinds of territories, each disciple stemmed from a different culture and perspective on the world, and thus, one’s normal could very easily be another one’s extreme.

Then, focusing on what was more important, Ken addressed Darek.

"I believe all of you made your preparations?" The basic preparations.

The weapons were equipped, and some money in case they were stranded and had to look for a mortal city, blood pills, or whatnot, even though they were pretty expensive for his batch.

"Yes, though if we need anything, the boats have all that we need." Darek nodded; he was speaking on behalf of the others too.

"Then let’s set off." Ken then turned to walk towards boat #88.

This one was heading closest to the village they needed and was the fastest too.

In 4 days they’d reach their location, and in a bit over 10 days at most, they should be back, if all went according to his plans.

Ken had already planned 30% of the mission; another 30% would be on the ship, and then the last 40% would remain flexible depending on the situation at the village.

Alex was sometimes glancing at Ken throughout the way, and Marwa didn’t seem to care much; if she ever did, it would be towards Alex, their eyes would meet, and it would get awkward quickly.

Ken and Darek noticed, but, in cases like this, anything could become disadvantageous or, if used right, advantageous.

While Darek was thinking of ways to not make this a problem, Ken had thought of 10 ways to use this to his advantage.

Due to today’s information providence, he knew few facts about the devil they were going to subjugate that he might use against it.

The group reached the ship, and they had to go through some security checks and inquiries before they embarked.

"Your mission pass." A senior disciple who looked serious spoke to Ken, who was the obvious leader of the group.

Darek, without a word, handed a pass to the disciple, and the senior allowed them to get aboard.

"Get the containers here fast! We’ll move in 3 hours!"

"Hey hey, you’re too slow, get going!"

"You bastard! You stepped on me!"

"I’m sorry, I’m sorry!"

Ken had to say that the air above the ship was full of life... noisy, in short.

"You each find a room to stay in, and we’ll meet in the cafeteria." Ken gave his instructions, and the group separated.

Mainly Marwa went to another side following the signs, while the men each headed towards the lodge.

Ken wanted to enjoy himself a little and headed to the premium area, getting himself a luxury room.

And he had to say his previous life’s yachts and buildings on top of ships fell vastly compared to these ships.

The size, design, luxury, and comfort—everything was beyond top-notch, and the sect was definitely not playing around.

When he had just entered, there was nothing but a wide clearing and a lot of kites going up and down the ship alongside people moving about.

But as they headed deeper inside, things got different.

Ken had to go through the left path, still looking down on the road to the sect’s gate until he reached the middle, and to his left there was a long wall that had been following him throughout the way.

Right in the middle there was a door, and on its side was a sign hinting that this was where the premium lodging was.

And Ken opened it to discover that it was an elevator.

Convenient.
