CHAPTER 68: A DEVIL BETRAYED BY ITS FEELINGS!

Chapter 68: A Devil Betrayed By Its Feelings!

Ken had yet to move out of his room; he was waiting patiently for the devil to either make a move on him or be shocked by what was transpiring in the next room.

If it was to check on him first, he had to be here, but if it was to go take a look at Alex first... then he had to move as fast as he could.

However, he had already taken precautions.

--------

2 rooms away from Ken, Alex and Marwa were both sitting on one end of the bed.

"I never thought I would find so much in common with a man before." Marwa’s voice was soft, and Alex was having a hard time looking her in the face.

For some reason, they felt that what they were doing was wrong, that maybe it was hurried, that maybe they should wait and not do this, and that maybe... just maybe, this wasn’t the place or time for them to be realizing the feelings.

None of them could keep their feelings to themselves, yes, but it didn’t mean that it was now fine for them to be alone in a room together; anyone with a working brain knew that such a thing could lead to... unforeseen outcomes.

’Who cares if we get together? We are already adults; no one should mind our business.’ Such thoughts were already running through their mind.

But they knew, they knew that for a man and woman to be in the same room was wrong, whether they did anything or not.

"Marwa... I think... that maybe we should keep this until we return to the sect." Alex, with a lot of difficulty, managed to get these words across.

Marwa looked at his face. At first, she felt wronged, wronged that she was opening to him with her emotions and he was retaliating with such heartless words.

But upon gazing at him and seeing the expression on his face, she knew that it was as hard for him to say it as it was for her.

He then held her hand.

"I just want you to know... that I don’t hate you."

"I have more to say to you later, but now, we cannot be a burden on our team. Once we take care of the mission, we can be free for each other, then... no one. Nothing will stand in between us!" Alex’s voice almost rose above what he wanted.

"Alex..." Marwa, the noble lady, felt the warmth of her lover’s hand and then gazed straight into his eyes.

The two locked their sights for a second or two before words came out of her mouth.

"Okay." Soft words, almost inaudible, left her lips, and Alex felt as if a sharp pole as big as an arm was thrust right into his heart.

For one second, one split second, he wished he hadn’t spoken those words.

And the second Marwa took her hands off him and wanted to leave... a devil saw a scene it shouldn’t have.

"..."

In front of the door, which Ken had left a gap in intentionally, a devil’s red eyes were wide open, looking at the shy expressions of the two individuals alone in the room.

The pale feminine face of the devil, its demonic beauty, one that wasn’t normal by any means, contorted and started turning red.

Anger and betrayal bubbled in the devil’s heart before the heat rose from the center of its chest and a loud scream rang out.

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!"

*Crack* *BOOM*

Those who were asleep woke up, those who were too scared to sleep fainted, and those who were in their own rosy world tensed up as their attention turned to the source of the voice.

There, a wide open gap was formed from the devil’s roar, strong enough to break open the door; its eyes were fully black from fury, its skin deep red, and its hands were formed into a fist.

"MARWA, RUN!" Alex was able to react faster than the young lady, and before either of them could react, and even before the demon could launch itself at both of them in its anger...

*FWSH*

"ARGHh!"

A figure more angry, more furious than this devil could ever become... appeared out of nowhere.

Alex and Marwa couldn’t even realize what was going on when they took notice of Ken’s white robe that had passed by and taken the devil with it.

*BOOM*

A loud sound rang out from outside the estate.

At that moment, right after the devil roared at its full power, he tensed up, launching himself at full strength and full speed to get to it.

And with a grip so strong and speed so fast it couldn’t react, he held it from the head and thrust it through a window that he had left open.

The figure of a man and a devil flew out of the window, and with his momentum, Ken smashed the head of the devil right on the ground.

"GRAAAGH!" The devil, confident in its strength, tried to wriggle out of his hands, to use its power to get out and kill this insect who was stopping it from taking revenge!

From killing that wretched pile of blood that dared take its beloved!

Alas, Ken wasn’t a nobody; his strength, though slightly weaker, was able to gain control easily over the devil.

*BOOOM*

Another punch was launched, planting the face of the devil on the ground.

Then, Ken raised his hand once again; the tip of the Sealed Mirage’s chain blade appeared on his palm.

*SLASH*

And with force, he planted it right on the devil’s neck.

"GRAAAAAAGH!" A roar of anger and pain rang out, but Ken could care less.

The devil wasn’t dead; its strong vitality and remarkable regeneration wouldn’t let it die so easily.

But Ken wasn’t planning on killing right now.

He was holding it back and punishing it for its acts.

He then got up slowly, using the chance given by the devil being in pain to lengthen the chain.

Then he took a step, and then another. He gripped the chain tight, and with the blade still planted deep in the devil’s neck...

He launched it with full power outside of the village!

-----End-----

I discovered that some of these Chapters and those beyond them are mismatched; the early Chapter comes later, and that’s due to some problems on WN’s side.

I’m fixing them now, and I will make an easy fix so you won’t find such problems later, but if you ever do notice, please do tell.

Aside from that, the novel is finally starting to bloom; we’ve reached half of the first volume right now, and I hope the novel succeeds enough for me to actually develop it as slowly as necessary.

As it is now, at the moment I’m writing this, it doesn’t have any satisfactory results, but that’s far from pushing me down as it is; if it truly does fail and I have no choice but to speed up the progress... let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.

Well, that’s it from me. See you guys in new Chapters, and do support this novel however you can. I might just drop bonuses if you do.
