CHAPTER 79: ALL THE IMPORTANT GUESTS ARE HERE!

Chapter 79: All the Important Guests Are Here!

Ken had focused very much on the characters because, out of everybody in this sect, he would have the longest exposure to and spend the most time with them.

No matter who took him as an apprentice... core or official disciples were like students under one school.

Every elder thought of every student, but the reason why one took a direct disciple under him was to pass down legacy.

Any human, wise or not, wouldn’t pass down his deepest secrets to everybody; at most, it would be passed down to a select few, if not just one.

Thus, from the day he would become an inner sect disciple, every single one of the official disciples just mentioned would be his very brothers and sisters, who might just share life and death moments with him.

More than his batch, more than his staff friends, more than anybody in the outer sect.

That is why Ken hadn’t focused on anyone other than Darek... Darek, whom Ken had taken a liking to.

For some reason he couldn’t explain, that young man had made his way into his heart as a friend and someone that could be used without worries.

Maybe it was because Ken had a pleasant first impression of him, or because he had proven his worth during that first mission...

What mattered was that he most likely would be the only disciple from his batch who would have interactions with him.

But these official disciples... the story was different.

More could be said about the elders, and as someone who held all who taught him in high status, these men and women would guide his way to the peak of the spirit path...

Would be on the same pedestal as parents on this world.

"So you’re Ken?" The first to speak was the black-bearded elder with his wide smile and wild personality; he broke free from his spot and walked towards Ken.

He was known as the Warmonger Elder, Magga! The most knowledgeable when it came to battle tactics and also the most powerful in terms of physical strength.

It was obvious why he would be interested in Ken.

One step, two steps, and he was in front of Ken.

Ken, who was standing straight, was suddenly covered by a shadow from a figure that towered far beyond normal, almost thrice as tall and buff as an average person.

A bear of a man who wore a demon general’s pelt as a cape!

His smile was wide as he raised his hand, and without a word...

*Slap*

He slapped Ken’s shoulder in such a way that Ken felt as if his soul wanted to slip down.

"Heeeh? As I thought, you’re hiding more than half of your strength." While Magga tested Ken’s physique, not a single elder spoke or intervened.

All of them knew each other beyond words, and they knew their limits.

No one would speak up when someone did something, and no one would even do something that would require others to stop him, and that is called mutual respect, the type of respect that only stems from a self-respecting individual.

"You’re a gem, young man, and this sect doesn’t keep gems buried!" The man spoke these words in a loud voice that traversed throughout the entire VIP room.

And with his test done, butlers and maids moved to prepare the grand round table for them to sit.

And without another word spoken and eyes looking left, right, up, and down, Ken found himself sitting at a table with lions and wolves alone.

The staff, without anyone having to tell them, felt their insignificance and their unworthiness of sitting at this table and willingly moved to a table slightly close by.

The table of 50 was occupied this way:

On the other side of the table, opposite of Ken, sat the perverted elder, Aristo, and his wife, the puppet elder, Mestica.

To elder Aristo’s side were his son, Ariston, and his wife, and to elder Mestica’s side were her husband’s female disciples.

Annalise, the blonde, was looking at Ken still, and the Arabian beauty, Sara, was eating with her eyes gazing at Eldora from time to time.

The twin elders, Elder Ragnette and Elder Ragnetta, were sitting on Sara’s side with their disciples.

And then to Ariston’s side sat the monk, Liu Danfeng, with his disciples, and further down the circle sat the alchemist elder, Asahito Ron, his close friend, Elder Magga, and their disciples, much closer to Ken.

Still, they were separated by Adam, who sat to the left of Ken.

Ken’s immediate right was empty, but just after it sat the inverted elder, Karim; Eldora, whose eyes also seemed occupied by Sara; and then Alex.

For a period of 5 minutes there was but utmost silence, with Ken’s eyes closed, but his thoughts filled with countless strategies, organized plans, backups, and control over his actions.

From time to time, he felt gazes shooting towards him from all kinds of directions, and those caused his concentration to falter the first few times, but then, he got used to it, and no matter who looked at him, he remained calm.

This made the elder smile once again, and the official disciples, after one look at his composure, had different reactions.

Some smiled, some nodded, some thought to themselves that he would go far with such a mindset, and others were still just observing or couldn’t really care much.

Everyone knew why they were here, and Ken had already proved his worth again and again, so there was no need to be constantly surprised by his every action, or so some thought.

The elders and those who could see beyond Ken’s surface actions or were planning to uncover the entire mystery beyond him were studying his every move.

But no one spoke. In long events such as this, where important individuals were gathered, the first hour wasn’t for asking questions.

This gathering would go on for an entire week, and the events that would unfold one after the other would give them all the chances they needed to make their choice, know about Ken what needed to be known, and everything else.

This continued... until the core disciples and their masters, the outer sect elders, came.

Now, all the important guests are here!
