Although extraordinary, Lucian paid no mind to this change. The time had stopped, and the world lost its colors, yet Lucian’s eyes and attention remained stuck to the screen.

’This aura... It feels...soothing...’ He thought as a sense of relief washed over his heart and mind. The messages from the system didn’t feel ordinary like usual but grand and meaningful. Unlike its straightforward and blunt manner of talking, for the first time, its text seemed laced with grandeur.

The screen stretched further, and at the same time, the aura enwrapping Lucian’s body intensified. The layer of luminous white hue grew thicker as a faint silhouette began forming over his head.

A small circular shape resembling a ring. A golden ring that seemed to be slowly materializing into existence. His irises had turned completely white, and his sclera had grown black. In a sense, slowly, a soft rhythm began to chime through his ears. It wasn’t hurried but slow and peaceful.

Under its influence, Lucian had lost control over his mind as his body began reacting instinctively, accepting the energy as its own.

However, all of a sudden, everything disappeared. The golden ring slowly materializing over his head shattered, the bright luminous aura layering over his body dissipated, his eyes became normal, and the world—it regained its colors, and the time resumed.

Gasping out loud, Lucian collapsed to his knees and heaved for the slightest bit of air, clutching his chest tightly. Confused, his brows naturally furrowed and eyes shook in concern.

"Wh-what was that?" He stammered, his voice barely making any sense.

Gathering his breath, Lucian slowly lowered his hand off his chest, cold sweat still fresh in his palm. He clenched his jaw and looked at the system screen once again. Slowly, his eyes moved left and right, reading through each word carefully.

The news was huge, perhaps more than that. But even so, Lucian had no way to escape from this. If even his cheat system could not help but present him with such a choice, and if all the divinities throughout the universe—whether good or bad—were involved in this, without a doubt, his life was at risk.

If even a single wisp of this were to get out—that a mortal had created a supreme law, an individual law that rules above all existence and nothingness, including the divinities themselves—a brutal war would break out.

Not among him and divinities, but between them. All for the chance to get their hand on the supreme law from this mortal and gain greater power.

’If my guess is correct, and if even this is copied, then the only supreme law to exist in this world is Mana... But by nature, both mana and qi are of the same origin, just of different natures, which makes them repel each other. But if that was the case, why would ’Mana’ be afraid of something that was supposed to be its rival?’ Lucian raised his brow as countless thoughts barraged his mind, questioning everything.

"No, maybe it changed..." He muttered as his eyes slightly widened, realizing that maybe it really wasn’t exactly the same as he remembered from his writing.

"System," he called out loud and, for a brief moment, didn’t say a word as he hesitated in his choice. "I choose the second." He said, his gaze blinking with uncertainty.

The system, as always, reacted to his command almost instantly, as a new system window materialized before his eyes.

"There’s more?!" Lucian widened his eyes in surprise, his voice as loud as it could be.

’Was the new supreme law not enough?!’ He shook his head in disdain. After all, the vision of him going head over heels for his system and its rewards—it was near.
