Infinite wealth In A New World
Chapter 78: I Must Succeed!
CHAPTER 78: I MUST SUCCEED!
[Star Planet - One Hundred Miles from the Star Empire.]
"Something isn’t right!" a Wendigo snarled, surveying his group. The ten other Wendigos remained silent, exchanging uneasy glances.
The Elite Wendigo turned his gaze towards the direction of the Star Nation.
"The Star Nation is only a few miles from here... We can’t face them if they attack."
"That isn’t our mission!" another Wendigo protested, standing up.
"We’re after those three who killed our captain! We return after we kill them!!"
"What if they already entered the Star Nation?!" the first Wendigo demanded.
"Then... Then we fall back," the other replied.
"Fall back? We have 1,000 troops; we can surely sneak some in at night."
The first two Wendigos turned their cold eyes on the one who had just spoken. "That is a death sentence!" the first hissed.
"I say we retreat," the fourth suggested.
"I think that’s the best option," the others nodded in agreement.
The first Wendigo looked at the setting sun and finally conceded.
"Okay then, we retreat."
WHOOSH!!!!
BAM!!!
The remaining ten Wendigos instantly snapped into a defensive stance as the first Wendigo abruptly dropped dead, a clean hole through his forehead. Not even his armor had made a difference.
"Who are you?!!" one hissed, eyes darting frantically.
"Oh... Elite Wendigos."
The ten Wendigos and their 1,000 soldiers looked up to see four figures hovering in mid-air above them.
"Is that the Star Nation’s Queen?" one gasped, stunned.
"Those three behind her?!" another exclaimed, staring at the cloaked figures.
"They’re the ones who killed the captain!!" one hissed, malice lacing his voice.
"Then why are they with the Queen?"
"Shit!! They led us here on purpose!!" the second Wendigo snarled, his nails elongating into deadly talons.
"No... The main issue here is, how are they flying? The Queen isn’t a Divine rank, right?" another questioned, disbelief clear in his tone.
"No... Impossible, she is just a Heavenly rank... We can take her on... We ten are all Heavenly ranks, and she isn’t in her armor," the second Wendigo declared confidently, the others nodding in agreement.
"My Queen?" Jabez began, a hint of concern in his voice.
"Leave it to me," Matilda interjected, cutting him off. She raised a single finger into the air. "Be happy you are dying at my hands," she stated, pointing her finger directly at them.
BOOOOM!!!
The three figures behind her quickly moved out of the way as one hundred glowing red eyeballs materialized behind Matilda, pulsating with an eerie red and black light.
"Test my new skill without my armor boosts. Go!"
The eyes glowed brightly as beams of red light shot out from each of them, passing by Matilda and streaking directly towards the unsuspecting Wendigos.
"Fuck!!"
"Run!!!!"
BOOM!!!!
BOOOOOM!!!!
BOOOOM!!!

[Two Minutes Later.]
Matilda landed gracefully on the scorched earth, staring at the burnt, lifeless bodies of the Wendigos. She remained unaware of the faint red light that was subtly flying out from each of the dead bodies and entering her own.
Jabez looked down at the blood reader in his hand, which had just ticked from 0% to 1%.
"We need more blood... She needs to kill more," he stated, looking over his shoulder at the two cloaked figures beside him.
"The more she kills, the stronger the Queen becomes, and the stronger the Queen... The stronger she’ll be."
He put away the blood reader, walked towards Matilda, and bowed, dropping onto one knee.
"My Queen... You need the blood soul artifact to strengthen your new blood elf bloodline, and also... you must kill more Wendigos; the more you kill, the stronger you get," he explained.
’If she gets consumed by killing intent, it will also benefit the Queen... But it will harm her body, and the Queen might be sealed again... I must keep watch on her,’ he thought, his gaze fixed on Matilda.
"But for now, I think the Queen should have her rest... We will take care of this."
Matilda stared at him for a few seconds, then nodded, and shot into the air, flying away with newfound grace.
’You just unlocked your flying skill... The more you kill, the more powers you unlock, and the closer the Queen will get,’ he thought with a subtle smirk, watching her ascend.

[Planet Zax - Wendigos’ Hideout.]
BAM!
Xanor shattered the wooden door of the Wendigo General’s office and strode inside.
WHOOSH!
A wave of black light surrounded him, and he transformed into his human appearance.
"I should have killed those two... I’m lucky I escaped before he arrived... Who would have thought he got stronger in such a short time," he mused, his gaze sweeping around the small, disheveled office.
"There must be something here," he muttered, moving his gaze from the messy table, the chairs, the crude pictures, and the blood-stained ground.
"Wait!"
He walked towards the pictures. "This? This is a map!" he exclaimed, his eyes tracing the outlines of galaxies.
"The Wendigos’ main nation is actually at the end of the galaxy?"
He turned and walked towards the table, staring at the disarray: fresh meat on a plate, dirt, and general filth.
"Wendigos... Elite or not, they are dirty... But, they’re the only ones that can help me get my revenge." He moved around the office, meticulously searching every nook and cranny.

[Five Minutes Later.]
"What is this?"
He looked at the dusty book in his hand, a puzzled expression on his face. "Can Wendigos write? What am I saying, they can speak English, of course, they will know how to write."
He opened the book, staring at illustrations of Wendigos, but these were different. They had huge bat wings and red skin instead of the familiar black.
"Are these also Wendigos?" he was stunned. No one had ever seen a flying Wendigo.
"This is a war book?" He settled into a chair and continued reading.
"So the Wendigos’ planet is actually in a void at the galaxy’s end?" He flipped through the pages, noticing an old, ancient key tucked within one.
"Oh... My lucky day, the key to open the void..." He stood up, a plan forming in his mind.
"The Wendigos’ stronghold here is so strong no nation can destroy it... Who would have thought the main nation is in a void... Far from the eyes of everyone." He rose to his feet again.
"Everyone thinks the Ruler of the Wendigos is in that stronghold, maybe he or she is right here... But..." His face darkened with a grim realization.
"Will I survive if I go?" He looked at the necklace and the key in his hand, then back at the book. "Maybe with these two things, I can convince them?" He sighed.
"Everything is a risk... I should try and steal a Battleship from the Beastify Nation and get off this planet... I must get to the Wendigos’ nation."
