CHAPTER 104: ENEMY OF MY ENEMY

Luka sponsored a bottle of wine worth twelve thousand dollars, trying to start things off well. Although he knew Jayden wouldn’t care, he just decided to do it because, after all, he had the money.

"I know what you want, Luka."

Luka froze at once upon hearing that, but he tried to shake off his actual feelings about that statement. Certainly, he tried to act like he didn’t really understand what Jayden was talking about, but Jayden clearly knew he knew.

"Uhh... I... I don’t really..."

"Yeah, you do. You want to be my best friend, Luka. But sorry, I don’t want any. Life has taught me a lot, and I have come to understand that only those whose hearts are captured by you can actually love you... the kind that comes with no betrayal," Jayden said.

Luka gave a soft, confused chuckle, trying to speak but was still interrupted.

"I understand. You want to be with the good guys, but I have to make something clear..." Jayden paused.

"I’m not as good as you think. I might be a good guy today and become even more cruel than Royce tomorrow. Whatever it takes to get what I want," Jayden said before gulping down another mouthful of wine.

At that point, when Jayden said that, Luka smiled like he had heard something he really wanted to hear.

"That’s it. The urge to get revenge for your father," Luka said.

"You don’t have the right to say anything about it," Jayden frowned at him at once.

"Oh, sorry. But you have to hear me out, Jayden. We both understand the situation here. The case has completely been removed from the Trial Records, and we can no longer bring it up. This means that the only way we can take the Kingsleys..."

"What’s with the ’we’?" Jayden cut in. "It’s ’I.’ I alone will bring the Kingsleys down and make them beg for mercy. They will pay for everything they have done, and I won’t need your help," Jayden said.

"Come on, Jayden. The only way to stop them is by violence. We know that. If you try doing this alone, you might... you might not be able to do it. Why not join us this one last time? Jayden shook his head.

Luka tried to land something heavy, and to be honest, Jayden was shaken by those statements, but he didn’t just go ahead with an agreement.

The truth was that he already had a plan, and this was definitely not part of it. If he did more than he had planned, it might actually end up haunting him.

Jayden wanted his revenge to go smoothly and swiftly so he could get this over with before the Sovereign Protocols showed up.

Although he hadn’t gotten a clue of what that meant, he had been urged to be prepared.

Jayden finally left the bar and headed home. Luka had done well to persuade him... A normal person would have listened to what he had said. However, Jayden just wasn’t that normal.

Exam day came, finally, and the students settled in the hall.

It was a big story to be inspired by, and it surely had impacted many.

"I wish you the best of luck, my love," Jayden told Camilia before they parted ways.

"You too," Camilia said as they kissed almost passionately.

When Jayden entered the hall, the class was buzzing since the exam hadn’t begun yet.

"It’s exam time and Sofia hasn’t shown up yet... I’m gonna love this!"

"Perhaps she’s been on top of a rod too sweet that she can’t get off. Might be more important to her holes than a Sky High Business Degree."

The whole class laughed hard at that, as even Royce was enjoying the moment.

However, it appeared that Jayden was the only one who wasn’t mixing in with the gist, as he waited for the exam to begin.

Paula was there, always by his side, and in no time, the real deal began.

"First subject... 40 minutes. Once it’s time, you are done..." the examiner stated.

However...

"Hey, you, Jayden boy... It’s still like thirty-five minutes left... How come you are through?" The examiner was stunned when Jayden submitted after five minutes.

And the reply?

"The contents on the paper can testify that."
