CHAPTER 117: HE’LL BE FINE

Just like that, it turned out that Jayden’s real results were hijacked by Royce, who had conspired with the Head Professor in charge of their department, Professor Bernard.

It really came as a surprise because they all knew Jayden was the most intelligent person in the whole department, and they had been asking many questions when he came out 14th in the first place.

Now that the truth was revealed, Jayden received an official apology from the Vice Chancellor and was publicly awarded the Best Graduating Student of the Year award, with everyone present as they clapped and praised his brilliance.

This was something Jayden had looked forward to achieving all through his life in Sky High University. Normally, he had been a diligent and committed student even before he got the system, but there was no doubt that the system completely boosted his intelligence after he obtained it.

Although, till now, no one knew he had a system, but he wouldn’t be surprised if people started to question his top-notch intelligence.

At this point, it was already at fifty-one, and he couldn’t imagine why he had been so brilliant with such a rate.

Jayden gave the interface a smile and then glanced back at the crowd. There, the students were singing his name as the claps continued to soar around.

It was only a matter of time before the ceremony was done, and Jayden had to leave.

Meeting Camilia and Paula, he had a short chat with them before leaving for Zintech.

It would be the last time he visited his company as just "Jayden Cole," because the next time he would be there, everyone would have known he was The Dominus.

There was heavy traffic on the road, and Jayden had no choice but to lurk around. This time he was using the McLaren Sabre, just to make sure any assassin didn’t notice him.

He was hopeful.

The window of the Sabre was completely shattered at once as a rain of bullets hit hard.

Jayden could swear he saw a bullet dash past his ear, and he was glad the shot missed.

"Jesus Christ... Bikers again?!!!" Jayden shouted at the top of his lungs as he bent completely inside the car.

But it got intense. The shooting continued until he knew he wouldn’t survive if he stayed any longer.

Jayden quickly opened the door and stormed out.

The assassins didn’t spot him until he was already a little bit far from the scene, but what’s bad? They grabbed their bikes and chased after him.

The worst thing was that it was happening on the bridge again, and this time, really in the middle of nowhere.

Jayden had to keep running to land, and with nothing to fasten his pace for his life, the assassins were swiftly closing in with their bikes.

Jayden was completely stunned, left with nothing to do.

He kept running behind cars, but they spread out... They were five of them this time, and more skilled than the previous assassins the other time.

Jayden knew he would die if he didn’t find a way to get himself out of this situation, because surely, they would catch him before he got off the bridge.

There was only one option now.

Jayden glanced around, seeing the terrified faces of people inside their cars. He thought they were sorry for him, but the truth was that they were scared that they might get hit by a stray bullet.

At this point, no one cared about another person’s life until the chaos was gone.

And it was clear... Jayden had brought the chaos.

So he figured he should get rid of himself.

Right from the high bridge, Jayden heaved a deep sigh before jumping into the water.

This was the middle of the large Western Nortasia Lagoon, the scariest and largest ever seen in the entire continent.

It was stated that no one can survive if they fall in, and that belief was still strong up to this point.

The bikers reached the spot from where he had fallen and stared down.

They saw the waves his landing had created and nodded.

"He really preferred getting eaten by sharks than getting shot, huh?" one of them laughed.

"Heh, might be the better choice. I was going to shoot his dick before his ass," another guy said.

"Well, let’s just get the hell out of here before some late savior arrives. We have to tell the King the vexing cockroach is dead."

They all laughed as they went back to their bikes and zoomed off.

In no time, people began storming out of their cars as they rushed to have a look at the spot.

Many began taking pictures, and in no time, the news had spread across the entire city.

("Fire News Cloudbridge: Jayden Cole, the man who was chased by some biking assassins a few days ago, was attacked today again on the bridge while he was heading to the headquarters of his company, Zintech Automobile.")

("After getting chased for too long, he urged himself to fall into the Black Lagoon. He entered with no jackets or oxygen and is likely to have been dead by now.")

Sabrina’s secretary rushed toward her office at full speed with a tablet in her hand.

"What happened, Anna? Is everything okay?" Sabrina stood up at once, noticing the strange approach from her always composed secretary.

"There’s news about the boss," she said, her face dark and filled with worry.

"Which boss? You mean... Jayden?" Sabrina asked, her brows furrowed.

Anna nodded.

Sabrina collected the tablet immediately and played the news video. There was a video displaying as well... One that had her eyes widened.

"Jayden Cole, the man who was chased by some biking assassins a few days ago, was attacked today again on the bridge while he was heading to the headquarters of his company, Zintech Automobile."

"After getting chased for too long, he urged himself to fall into the Black Lagoon. He entered with no jackets or oxygen and is likely to have been dead by now."

Sabrina wrapped her mouth with her left hand. "Oh my God... Oh my God. This can’t be true. It’s definitely not Jayden... It’s not him."

She dropped the tablet at once, shaking her head in disapproval as her eyes got wet.

It was just too obvious... No one really could survive the Black Lagoon.

She had to believe it when she discovered the reports about him heading for the Zintech headquarters.

She also recollected that he had promised to be there today, and some other people who were present at the scene had confirmed that it was Jayden Cole.

Sabrina broke down as she began crying her eyes out.

"God! God!! God!!! No!"

Anna had to stay with her because it felt like she was going crazy at that point.

No one understood her pain.

She had lost her boss... her wonderful, charismatic boss who she had been hoping to live with for the rest of her life.

Now, they said he was gone... leaving everything behind. His company, which was now rising, his wealth, his revenge unfulfilled...

Sabrina cried like a baby.

Temi’s eyes widened watching the TV.

"Oh my God!!!"

She panicked at once as she called the rest of the ladies.

Camilia and Paula were away, so it was only Harper, Becky, and Charlotte around with her.

Becky and Harper showed up immediately, and they all panicked the moment they saw the news, all breaking down in tears as they couldn’t help the fact that their hubby was gone.

It was visibly serious as they all were on the floor, in dismay...

"Jayden? Gone? No way... Please, tell me it’s not true..."

Then in a moment, Charlotte walked in with her arms folded.

"Charlotte! Jayden... He..."

"I know..."

Charlotte remained calm and collected.

They all gave themselves a glance as they noticed her and were about to speak when she shrugged and interrupted.

"He’ll be fine."

"What? Fine? How?" Becky asked, her eyes already red.

"Do you trust me?" Charlotte then asked.

They all exchanged glances again before hesitantly giving a nod.

And then Charlotte smiled again.

"Then trust me... Our man will be fine."
