Infinite Wealth System: Crazy Tasks, Insane Rewards!
Chapter 170: Charlotte’s Mission
CHAPTER 170: CHARLOTTE’S MISSION
Since the war controversy began, Icelandians had banned Nortasians from flying into their country, even by any means.
They even ordered every citizen of Icelandia who was in Nortasia to return back to the country, with that meaning only one thing...
That Nortasia would be left in ruins soon...
In order to gain allowance into the country, she had to maintain a different body appearance at first, and then an Icelandian ID card, which she had already taken care of.
There wasn’t much stress at the airport, and every forgery she made went through.
Charlotte successfully landed in Icelandia within three hours and journeyed to the capital immediately.
Wasting too much time here wouldn’t be a good idea, so she had to hasten things up.
It would only take getting the passcode, hacking, and changing the passcode to get everything done.
Might sound easy to say, but it was the gravest task she was putting on her neck at this point.
The skin she was using was one that looked like that of a citizen of Icelandia for sure...
Pale, light, and with slight spots like almost forty-five percent of the citizens, but she knew that entering the Defence Unit would put her in grave trouble.
It was clear that there was no one like her in there, so the best thing she could do at this point was put on the Shadow Mask.
Thanks to her rapid advancements, she had been able to make a Shadow Mask that could last up to two hours.
She figured that would be enough for her to get the job done before the mask deactivated.
It turned out that the Icelandian Defence Unit was located on an island, and the only way to get there was through a boat.
Charlotte hid beside a tree on the mainland and waited for the right moment.
Two males dressed in suits approached the house-side boat and entered. They appeared to be workers in the Defence Unit, even though it wasn’t written on their clothes.
At that point, she was forced to put on the Shadow Mask and slowly joined the boat.
THUD.
"What is that?"
"Can you quickly check where that sound came from?"
The two men were curious to know what had caused the sound at the other side of the boat.
Little did they know that there was some invisible lady inside there with them, and even when one of the seamen went to check, he found nothing.
Charlotte was just there, at the side, holding her breath as hard as possible so as not to be noticed.
Being caught at this point would be more than miserable, because she hadn’t even started the real job yet.
Fortunately for her, they arrived at the Defence Unit within fifteen minutes, and they stepped down.
Charlotte had to be the last, making sure that they were far off so as not to notice a "thud" again.
The Defence Unit was a large scale of land with different advanced secured buildings.
Security was everywhere, cameras at the top of every corner. She started to wonder what would be her fate without the Shadow Mask.
...
’Now time to get the passcode and get the hell out of here,’ Charlotte thought.
She started by checking the postal names on every building, trying to figure out where she would find the Satellite Control Room.
The number of buildings in the base led her to spend up to twenty minutes, and she still didn’t find the right place.
At one point, she decided to check by going in.
The doors weren’t ones that opened often, and she had to find her time to go in and use it wisely.
The first building she entered was filled with ammunition, tight security guarding them, and a few offices.
Charlotte quickly left and entered the next, finding a large conference room... Must be where the leaders of the Unit met.
The next building was nothing to talk about, and so were the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, until the eighth.
The bigger building had a fingerprint entrance system.
’Damn, forty minutes and no one has entered or come out yet. Fuck!’
Charlotte got frustrated, but she didn’t lose hope.
This mission was do or die, and she wouldn’t back down as long as she was already there.
Finally...
After what seemed like forever, a young lady with eyeglasses and a cap stepped out of the building.
Charlotte used the fastest pace she had ever gathered and rushed in, only to have her invisible shoulders slam into the lady.
"AHH..."
"Miss Margaret, are you okay?" the man standing by the door asked.
The lady gave a confused glance around and spotted nothing. With a short moment of silence, she sighed and nodded to the man.
"Yes, I... I am fine. It was the door. I was hit," she said with her eyes blinking, her mind still slightly unsettled.
"Oh, Miss Margaret. Apologies for that. Maybe the door didn’t want to leave," the man joked.
"Damn it, Trev. I have been working for thirteen hours. I gotta go," Margaret responded.
While they were both joking around, Charlotte slowly walked in.
She came across a hallway with different doors, but thank goodness, the rooms had postal names.
"Satellite Repair."
"Satellite Maintenance."
"Satellite Project."
"Satellite Access..."
A man was passing by the hallway, and she quickly picked his cardkey from his pocket at once without him realizing.
Smiling at her smart move, she slashed the key against the scanner, and the door with the postal name "Satellite Access" opened.
Good news? No one was there.
It appeared that Miss Margaret was the one working in this office.
Charlotte quickly got to business, connecting her USBs and restarting the computer at once.
She spent five minutes trying to access the passcode, going through details after details, and it truly wasn’t an easy feat.
But fortunately in the end, she grasped it.
"413665."
That was the passcode, and she quickly logged it into her device and changed the passcode at once.
{New Passcode Installation In Progress...}
{Countdown 60 seconds.}
Charlotte quickly checked the Shadow Mask countdown.
[3 Minutes.]
Her eyes glinted.
She had to get this done now and would have only two minutes to leave the Defence Unit.
...
"Oh, shit... I forgot the report notes. Have to go get them or the boss will be on my neck."
On the other hand, Margaret had already forgotten something and had turned to head back to her office.
"You are welcome, Miss Margaret," Trev chuckled as he let her in.
...
[Twenty seconds...]
[Fifteen seconds...]
Margaret was already closing in.
[Ten...]
[Nine...]
[Eight...]
[Seven...]
[Six...]
[Five...]
Charlotte already heard the footsteps approaching, her heart racing.
[Four...]
[Three...]
[Two...]
Her eyes widened.
"Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on," Charlotte prayed.
[One...]
The door opened, and Margaret came in.
She spotted no one, as she heedlessly went for the report notes. But something went wrong when she spotted the image on the screen.
{New Passcode Installation Completed!}
Her jaw dropped, and she quickly hit the alarm button at the side.
"Breach! The Satellite System has been hacked. I order a full lockdown!"
