CHAPTER 110: I MIGHT LEAVE YOU BANKRUPT

After receiving the prompt from the system, Michael was once again surprised. He had not expected that the system had handled the issue of the theses as well.

After doing a quick check online, Michael realized that the theses would only be posted after someone was awarded with their degree or PhD.

"Okay, you can find me downstairs." Michael responded, before leaving the apartment. He was currently wearing a light polo shirt and slim gray trousers, with white sneakers.

This time, in the basement, he did not get inside the Koenigsegg. It was too eye-catching. So, he decided to drive the A8 w12 Audi A8 that Adrian had bought the previous day.

This was something that Michael had requested for, as he had realized driving the Koenigsegg, while it was quite enjoyable, it was too attention grabbing.

So, when heading to places like Crown Hotel, where he was going now, it was better to drive some low-key vehicles.

The Audi only cost around $90,000, which to Michael, it was nothing expensive at all.

As he drove the car out of the underground parking lot, he coincidentally found that Kate, dressed in a pink t-shirt and blue jeans, was just alighting from a cab.

This made him slightly speechless. Why did she not directly head to the hotel, instead of coming here first?

Regardless, he waited, as Kate got into the car, before he began driving towards Crown Hotel.

"You haven’t gotten back your car yet?" Michael casually asked while driving.

"Someone borrowed it." Kate responded simply.

Michael could not help but raise his brows slightly as he looked at Kate. She seemed to be quite low.

"Anything happened?" After a moment of hesitation, he decided to ask.

"You should already know about it. It is about the engagement that Raymond talked about the other day. They are about to finalize things, yet I just can’t seem to be able to change it. Even my mother cannot stop it from happening." Kate responded with a gloomy expression on her face.

"Well, instead of resisting when you know that you cannot avoid it, why not just try to adapt? At least, try to look at it from a positive angle, while trying to ignore the negatives." Michael suggested.

To him, Kate’s engagement to someone did not have much of an impact on him. After all, it was not as though they had gotten used to each other to the extent that he would feel bad if she was married by someone else.

"Hey, don’t you feel sorry for me at all?" Kate suddenly asked as she glared at Michael.

"I can feel sorry, but what can I do? It is not as though I can make your family change their minds, right?" Michael asked.

When he said those words, Kate’s eyes suddenly lit up. She looked at Michael and said, "You can absolutely do that! How about this? You can pretend to have the intention of getting engaged to me.

Then, my family will find that you are better than the partner that they have found for me. That way, they can cancel the other engagement, planning to engage me to you.
