CHAPTER 589: CHAPTER 589 - ANOTHER SET! (PART 2)

My father and Yoffir immediately started channeling a slow stream of mana into Reiss’ body to strengthen and heal him which was what I was doing earlier. As for my mother, she is not allowed to help for now since if another female’s mana tries to enter the pregnant male’s body (not the mother of the children), it will cause unbearable pain and a mana outburst that would most likely end up in the deaths of both father and child(ren).

My mother opted to just stay on one side of the room and prepare the baby cribs, clothes, bathing area and she started preparing the milk too. She is also tasked to check and appease the mystiques outside who I am quite sure are worried to death for Reiss’ sake as of the moment.

Now that I have some assistants, I can now focus on more important tasks like using my mana to coax my children out of their father’s womb. This was of course with some verbal guidance from Yoffir.

The guy might be obnoxious when we first met but he learned to be more useful and polite after some time (thru painful lessons from me). Reiss is a herald and Yoffir might be an elf but this old elf was already alive from the time the elves and heralds have decided to start living together in the human realm by re-establishing their version of Freyheimr near Sklavryet. Well, he said he knew what to do so I entrusted this to him, given that he is already a living fossil. (A/N: LOL. Such a creative way to say someone is very old.)

My goal for now is to do the whole birthing process as quickly as possible to lessen any negative effects that may come to Reiss. It also is some sort of training for future births which I am sure will come before I even know it. After this one, I would have officially gained personal experience in assisting births for humans (deified), giants, elves and heralds.

Previously, I was using soothing mana to continuously heal Reiss and comfort the children

. This time, I will have to focus on releasing a higher amount of mana on the first child to coax them and get them out quickly.

For some reason, I immediately know which child is bound to come out first even if the normal childbirth process were to happen. Of course, we do the mystique way to do it to ensure the life of my family members are safe. I wouldn’t gamble their lives using the old method for sure and I also do not want to see my husbands in pain.

Once I put my mind on to it, the whole process indeed happened real quickly. Having also experienced assising in a few births previously, it only took less than a quarter of an hour this time.

Reiss was awake throughout the process and I saw him fight his drowsiness with everything he’s got. When each child came out, his eyes followed them as they were carried off to another part of the room, to be cleaned and clothed by my parents. He lifted his weak arms and whispered to me that he wants to be the one to feed the babies too.

I told my parents about it and they dotingly nodded their heads as they carried the twins nearer the bed. I helped Reiss sit up a bit on the headboard of the bed so he can place one of the twins in his arms. I carried the other one and sat near him so he can still see the other child clearly. We fed both the children at the same time with the prepared "milk".

Reiss eyes’ were moving between the two children constantly as if he was scared he will miss even a single movement or sound coming from them as they were feeding. After a few minutes, the two babies were full with their round tummies and were sleeping soundly in our arms. I stood up and placed the male child in my arms in the crib and Reiss finally gave me the female child to place her in another crib as well.

I helped him lay back down so he could sleep as I could see his eyelids closing heavily every few seconds. It was just that he was fighting off the sleepiness with sheer will power. I kissed him on the forehead to make him relax and finally he relented and slept.

I can feel his nervousness and for some reason fear which seem to be coming from thoughts that someone will take the children away from him. Knowing that these things were worrying him, while Reiss was asleep, I quietly carried the cribs and placed them next to his side of the bed so he could see the babies immediately when he wakes up later.

I laid next to Reiss and hugged him while he is asleep. While I am at it, I told my mother to let the mystiques outside know that the babies are out and that they can visit them when Reiss wakes up later. As of now, they have to stay quiet while waiting or just go home and come by again later.

As expected, none of them left the living room and simply waited. I gave them permission to use my kitchen and the stuff in there to make their meals if they are hungry as long as they clean up afterwards.

Reiss woke up after about 6 hours and as I thought, his eyes flung open and he immediately tried to escape my embrace and look for the children. I stole a kiss from his lips which surprised him and then he started squirming to escape. Eventually, after squirming for a bit, he gave in and kissed me back.

After the kiss, he was breathless but he was still looking around and finally his eyes, settled on the crib on the other side of the bed which he did not notice during his panic earlier. He scooted his bottom over to the edge of the bed so he can lean in and see the babies better.

I stood up to open the bedroom door and I simply called on to the mystiques that are still patiently waiting in the living room. As they heard my call about Reiss waking up, the 11 men almost ran inside the room but they kept their footsteps and movements light and quiet as they saw me motioning for them to stay quiet since the babies are asleep.
