Theo looked at their grades first and was relieved to see that both types were now the common grade.
Their levels were the same, but as for the stats, some of them had become higher than he had expected.
’I did put a lot of points in Intelligence and Strength for the ants, but it was never this high. These evolutions are giving an extra perk, I suppose.’ He thought before his eyes went on the skills of both the types.
The mention of the gland and sac in the stats of the ants made Theo exclaim in excitement, making the mantis try to find a stable ground on his shoulder.
Through the bond, Theo was surprised to feel the happy and satisfied feelings of the ant queen.
’This is the first time...’ He thought, his excitement skyrocketing now that the ant queen also felt this way.
’Make the two Embermaw ants use Ember Spit, ant queen.’ Theo gave a command, with which two seconds later, the Embermaw ants started moving their mandibles crazily until Theo could see a yellowish blob form outside their mouths.
’The ember resin...’ Theo thought with astonishment. This was really generating.
Before he could even give a command for them to put it somewhere, both the ants spit it out and moved back with their antennae glowing, and the seven of the other species did the same as if ordered to.
Theo saw the resin react to the atmosphere within mere seconds, and a fire flashed like a matchstick before it calmed down and burned slowly.
It only took five seconds for the resin to fully vaporize and the fire to extinguish. The ants stayed where they were as if nothing major had happened, though the mandibles of the Embermaw Worker Ants still kept moving for some reason.
’So it reacts within seconds of something in contact with the air, huh... I wonder what will happen when they level it up. Will the production and taking it out of the mouth become faster? So many questions yet to be answered...’
As there was no one but the mantis and the insects in the room right now, Theo literally danced while giggling; his mood was just that good.
’You can send the Embermaw back, and make all the Aquamandible Workers target this with their Water Shot.’ Theo thought and gave it the image of the wall confidently; he knew it could understand it very well.
The Embermaw, within two seconds, went inside the colony while all the Aquamandibles literally arched their backs to the front top and targeted the wall. Everything was synchronous, and Theo saw small jets of water speedily come forward, only to fall down in mere inches, which somewhat disappointed him.
’Hmm... the skill is great, but... It’s great at the level of an ant. So much leveling of skill to do...’ Theo could feel the endless grind of ability leveling come up again, and this time, he had to do it with the hundreds of insects.
It horrified and made him look forward to it at the same time, but a tap of the mantis’s foreleg later, Theo gave the ant queen the order to train the Water Shot of the Aquamandible and the Ember Spit of the Embermaw Worker Ant.
He wanted to see if the ant queen could take this responsibility. He felt feelings of approval from the ant queen, but still felt skeptical about whether it would be able to do it or not.
Theo wasn’t worried about the Ember Spit burning everything too, nothing in the whole terrarium room was made of wood or anything remotely burnable. It was all glass and even better glass everywhere.
He took a stop at the spider inside the big terrarium, only to find four rat-shaped mummies hanging upside down in the corner.
The spider could be seen weaving more and more web passionately, making Theo feel happy that he didn’t need to spoon-feed and level up its abilities. The spider took care of it on its own, showing its high intelligence.
There was also the fact that the ant queen wasn’t really giving any orders to the spider even though it was part of the hive mind now.
He didn’t know how these things worked, as there was no playbook for it anywhere in the world from what he realized.
But what he knew was that he had already done enough for the day and only rest was the thing he wanted to do now.
Tomorrow was the big day for him, the mantis, Elias, and Clara.
It was the day they would finally go to the middle-deep forest, something he had been wanting to do for a while now."
