Insect Tamer's Ascension
Chapter 222. Clara’s family
CHAPTER 222: 222. CLARA’S FAMILY
All that roaring later, Theo, Lucien, the Baron, and the head butler roamed around in the town to show him things, and meanwhile, the townspeople just showed him each thing with love and affection.
Yet after some time, Theo came to know that while most of these people were positive to greet him, there were many on the sides just glaring at him as if he had just asked them for their liver.
Theo ignored them; this was a town and seeing all sorts of people was a given.
Soon enough, the whole town was covered by him and he realized just how big it was.
The place he was at was the center of the town, where all the activities happened, while the west had many, many lavish concrete houses that didn’t look like they were of commoners.
And in the east, there were houses that were normal in comparison to the west.
There were all sorts of shops all around the town, but Theo was more excited to look at the beasts working in these shops with their tamers.
It was something he had not seen in the castle till now, but he soon realized that there might be beasts in the castle’s big kitchen to help the chefs. Theo decided to look at them too.
Some time later, when it was all done, Theo stood near the carriage again and waved goodbye to the townspeople.
The crowd erupted in shouts again, and they made a crowd that made Theo smile with a poker face to not show his awkwardness.
"Young master Theo!"
"Hm?" Theo heard the voice that he heard almost every day in his team. He looked around until another shout with the same voice came and Theo saw the person.
His eyes flashed with happiness when he saw Clara waving at him. There were two small kids right at her side. She was holding their shoulders as if they would just run away if she didn’t.
Theo looked toward the Baron, who understood what he wanted to do, and he only nodded with a sigh while replying to a few shouts here and there with his roaring. It was a funny situation to be in.
Theo waved at Clara for her to come forward and then did it a little low for her to bring the kids too.
Clara hesitated while looking at the Baron once, who ignored her, before she made her way forward.
"Khaa! The cold princess is going to the young master. Someone save him!" One of the kids in the crowd stated mischievously before they ran away with their group toward the buildings.
Clara was already hesitating, but now she felt awkward too because of the kids, but she was soon in front of him.
"Are they your siblings, Clara?" Theo spoke with a smile before crouching down.
Clara first bowed and made her siblings bow too toward the Baron and Lucien before moving toward Theo and nodding.
"This boy here is Tobias and she is Marias, young master." She spoke and tapped at them both as if they needed to do something.
"T-Thank you for coming to the town, young master..." Tobias spoke in a cute voice while hiding behind Clara and peeking at Theo.
Theo’s heart melted, and his mind went to how he was so similar to Bram, only younger than him.
"Happy belated birthday, young master Theo!" The girl, Marias, chirped like a ball of excitement, while her brother followed suit and wished him frantically as if he had done something wrong.
Theo looked at them both and laughed before keeping his hands on their heads.
"I am happy to meet both of you, Tobias and Marias." Theo spoke in a warm tone; in his mind, these children were like his own siblings too.
"Your sister takes very good care of me." Theo spoke to see Clara’s expression, and he hit it right where it hit good.
Clara blushed and cringed at the statement, which made Theo want to burst out in laughter, but he refrained.
There was still a lot of shouting and noise in the town toward him.
"I-I... I will protect you too when I grow older, young master Theo!!" Tobias shouted with all he had, making some of the crowd who heard him stop for a second before they all burst out in laughter and started making remarks.
When Tobias heard them, he had an angry expression, but from what Theo could tell, the kid was going to cry any moment now, so Theo kept a hand on his head again.
"I will wait for you to get strong enough, Tobias. But don’t forget to be safe, okay?" Theo stated, and the boy’s eyes glistened with happiness again before he nodded many times.
When the Baron saw this interaction between them, a smile crept over his face as if he was proud of how mature Theo was.
Even Lucien was looking at them in curiosity, while the head butler just stood there with his poker face.
"Where are your parents, Clara? Can I meet them?" Theo asked Clara, making her shoulders drop down.
"I wanted them to meet you too, young master. But they have gone to supply goods to the other town right now." She said in disappointment.
"No need to worry, I have access to the town now, so I can come meet them anytime."
"What do your parents supply to the other town, attendant?"
Everyone there was shocked when the Baron spoke up, making Clara take a few seconds just to comprehend that he had just asked her a question.
"They supply vegetables!" Marias chirped again and looked at the Baron with the same look she gave her sister. A totally oblivious kid.
Clara kept a hand on her face to stop her from speaking before going to apologize.
"Hm... good." The Baron spoke and patted her head too while scratching his chin before moving toward the carriage.
"We are going now, come, my children."
Theo bid farewell to them both and to Clara before moving inside again.
Marias was jumping around holding her head in happiness as if she was very happy, while Clara was still dumbfounded.
The crowd stayed like that for a while until they had gone out of the gates of the town.
Still, Theo looked back and saw the children just following the carriage with giggles and laughter.
It made a smile creep over his face. Things were just too positive.
"This was...
