CHAPTER 225: 225. THE ENTRANCE EXAM (1)- LIVING QUARTERS

"Do your best for the entrance exam, Theo. Make sure you get into the Intermediate class, okay?" The Baroness spoke with a concerned face.

They were all outside the castle right now, and Theo, Clara, and Elias were fully ready to get in the carriage.

Almost all the siblings were present, aside from some, including Bram, who was already in a runesmithing academy.

"I will try my best, Mother," Theo said and hugged her before moving to the Baron, who kept a hand on his head and ruffled his properly combed hair with a grin.

"I know what you can do, so be a little gentle on the poor bastards, okay?" He spoke with a wild grin, only to get elbowed by the Baroness for the bad language.

Theo nodded and moved to the two older brothers and the elder sister who were seeing him off.

Theo nodded at Cedric, who didn’t do anything but stare at him. Elara gave him a heartfelt hug to bid him farewell, and when Theo got to Lucien.

He smiled with his poker face to not show any of his emotions that had been on his mind for a while now.

And obviously, Lucien detected it and kept smiling. "Do your best in the academy, I will try helping you as much as I can." He spoke while offering a shoulder tap.

Theo made eye contact, and it was so obvious something was going on that even the Baron and the Baroness could tell.

Theo tapped the shoulder and smiled finally. No matter what, in the end, he was the brother who had helped him for a while now.

"And don’t worry about what we talked about, I am with you, if you still can’t understand." He spoke with a grin, making Theo’s eyes widen.

Elara and Cedric eyed them in skepticism while the Baron was oblivious.

It was only the Baroness who understood what was happening, but refrained from getting in and letting the Baron ask about it.

Theo nodded at Lucien, who finally sighed, which made Theo chuckle. Maybe he was bad at holding his emotions in.

Which was good, as he caught it early on, and now he just needed to work on his poker face.

"Farewell, everyone. I will send a letter to tell you all about what will happen. Thank you for seeing me off." Theo gave a deep bow while Clara and Elias did the same thing from the carriage’s close.

Theo soon got inside the carriage that had the Lesser Griffin as the carriage driver again. It was the show of the Merrick family, and while they had a lot better carriage beasts, this one was what the Baron decided to send for the 9th heir.

Theo got inside the carriage and saw the square block of the ant colony already on it with a smile. Just at the entrance, he would see a few green long legs coming out with some fur on them.

The ants, the spider, and the mantis, they were all going with him.

"Alright, are you guys ready?" Theo asked to lighten his mood.

"We have been ready since we started as your attendants, young master," Clara said with an excited face, and Elias nodded with a smile too.

"Why are you so excited?" Theo asked with a light laugh.

"Well, I have been looking forward to protecting you in a way that I am finally suitable, young master."

"What does that mean?"

"I will show it to you soon, young master." She said with a prideful snort.

Theo liked her casual attitude a lot more than how she was before.

He looked at Elias and smirked, thinking the same could be done to him, which only made the poor guy confused.

The journey was a long one, and they kept sitting in one place for almost 10 hours.

With the carriage window open, Theo saw all sorts of things all around the road. Sometimes a small shop entered his vision only to go away, which made him realize that even though the world was a fantasy one, some people were still in those same professions that he had seen in his old world.

When they finally entered a big town, Theo realized just how backward they were.

There was a lot more development in this town where the academy was located. People wore more noble clothes while they were moving around in their daily lives.

It was evening now, so all the magic lamps were already on.

Even if there was little to do with electricity in this world that ran almost everything in his previous world, this world had some of the same concepts, only more sided toward the beast and magic material side.

"Where will we be staying?" Theo asked.

"The academy has provided living arrangements for the prospective students, young master. We will be going there in a few minutes. I asked the baron if I can make you live in a better place, but he refused. He wants you to experience this." Elias said while looking through a map.

"Would you like to look around the town? It has a lot of good things I have heard."

"Have you been here before, Clara?" Theo asked.

"No, but everyone has heard about the Aemerion Beast Taming Academy, young master. It’s one of the most prestigious academies of all time. There is only one more academy like this in the whole kingdom." Clara stated with excitement.

Theo smiled happily and listened to what she knew.

He realized that this was the first time she was going to get inside an academy, even though she was already so capable.

Having so many responsibilities from such a tender age, there was never a time for her to enter the academy or even give the entrance exam, and now it was too late because she was already 18.

Thinking about that, he got curious about Elias.

"Have you attended an academy before, Elias?" Theo asked only for Elias to shake his head too.

"For us commoners, it’s just not viable to study in the academy, young master. I had to earn money for my family as my father left home when I was young, many things fell on my shoulders when I was 10 so I didn’t even realize I had to go to the academy." Elias spoke with a light laugh.

Yet both Theo and Clara had their mouths agape.

Theo changed the topic, and they moved toward the location of the academy’s living quarters.
