CHAPTER 230: THE ENTRANCE EXAM (6)- CHALLENGING EVERYONE

There were five children before Theo, and one by one, they moved forward to the stage.

Each of their affinities was the most common one, which did not get a single reaction from the masses.

It was not until it was the turn of Ron, who hummed and briskly moved toward the stage with a big smile.

Theo wanted to smack his forehead, but refrained and got up too. Next was his turn.

The cloaked man saw Ron’s demeanor and frowned as if he didn’t like the children being this cheery in this intimidating scenario.

Ron kept his hand on the orb, but kept moving his legs as if he was hyperactive or something.

Theo saw the orb working the same as the time he went to the ceremony when he looked at it up close.

"... Decay," the cloaked man spoke with a frown.

Ron kept on smiling even though confused murmurs filled the hallway.

It was not until a kid got up with a smirk and shouted to finally tell everyone what it was, "That’s a unique affinity!"

When everyone heard that, their eyes went back to Ron with curiosity.

But most of the hallway went silent as if they did not know how to react.

The commoners were confused, while at the same time, most of the noble kids were either indifferent, as if he was not worth their time, or plain out ridiculing him.

All the instructors at the stage were looking at Ron in a new light, as if registering his face to their memory if he were to pass and get into their class.

But Theo, on the other hand, felt this familiarity with the guy; he felt lucky, as if Ron was not there, then he would have been the only person with a unique affinity.

The cloaked man said something to Ron, which was not amplifie,d and Ron soon came back with the same infectious, happy personality.

When the cloaked man nodded at him, Theo went up there too and everyone’s gaze was stuck on him.

The murmurs started from the moment he kept his foot on the stage. His scabbard was too flashy for anyone not to notice.

The woman with the sword on the stage had her eyes flash with excitement as if she knew what type of sword it was.

Theo’s gaze went on her for a moment before it went back to the orb.

Without thinking about anything, he kept his hand on the orb and let it do its work.

Meanwhile, when he looked at the cloaked man’s face, Theo couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

The man’s eyes were stuck on the sword on Theo’s waist, there was a look of disgust on his face and when the cloaked man saw Theo’s crest.

Theo could literally see the expression on the man’s face change, and to his surprise, the man’s face turned to even more disgust.

A vein popped in Theo’s forehead when he saw that. He gritted his teeth to control himself and not let the man feel like he was angry.

Soon, only the affinity from his stats was shown on the orb as if it could only do that.

When the cloaked man read it, he was almost going to laugh when he controlled himself.

Every single instructor saw the man and sighed, his bad behavior as if not liked by anyone.

"Evolution," the cloaked man spoke.

Every single person first went into confusion, only to realize within moments that there was no affinity like that in the normal or rare spectrum.

That made everyone realize it soon, that it was a Unique affinity.

Roars of laughter soon erupted in the hallway, when Ron looked at everyone ridiculing Theo, a giggle came from his mouth for some reason.

Theo heard all sorts of stuff, like they now knew how his level was this high.

When Theo heard them say a lot more other things, and the cloaked man just kept silent and didn’t say anything for him to go now.

All the instructors noted Theo’s face in pity too, except the woman with the sword; her eyes were locked on Theo more than before.

Just when Theo was going to leave without the cloaked man saying anything, he heard a single comment that made him freeze.

A trash Merrick.

A line that he could have ignored without any problem, but he just couldn’t.

Blood started boiling in his body as he saw the crowd laughing and ridiculing him head-on.

He took a small breath and clapped a few times, making most of them stop and look at him.

"You may think I am weak just because I have a unique affinity," he spoke in a commanding, loud voice, making almost everyone stop speaking. Ron perked up on his seat with curiously excited eyes.

His voice didn’t amplify or anything, nor did Theo care. But one thing was clear.

He could not take ridicule on his family’s name.

Elias looked at his face and knew what Theo was going to do.

"I don’t know if anyone is right or wrong regarding this, nor do I care," Theo said again, making everyone listen intently.

Even the instructors, who heard every single word as they were close, listened with curiosity.

"But there is one thing that I can’t look past, and that is my family’s honour," Theo spoke with an angry expression.

"So, mock me if you wish." Theo spoke with cold eyes, "I’ll soon take my place in this academy, and those who question my strength may challenge me there. I’ll answer every doubt with action, not words."

The cloaked man looked at him with a frown while all the other instructors were just surprised.

The masses of children that sat there were fully silent; many in the back couldn’t hear what he said, but many in the front listened and went silent. Many had angry expressions on their face as if Theo had ridiculed them, which he had not.

Theo looked at the cloaked man one more time before he went past the next child, who was looking at him with a shocked expression.

He went past all the kids and sat beside Ron, who had a smirk etched on his face.
