Interstellar Number One Farmer: I Only Want To Farm!

CHAPTER 92: CHAPTER 33: EDITING (PART 2)
"The girl is just a student observing police work by taking notes. What’s the big deal? If you have so much time, why not provide some professional guidance to the forensic team instead?"
Another detective added, "You’ve been here a while, and the only thing I’ve heard you say is the useless remark that an autopsy requires your presence. Didn’t you boast in front of the chief that you’d understand what’s going on just by showing up? So, what’s your conclusion?"
The Insect Man Expert turned red with anger. "I was sent here by leadership to figure out the cause of the Insect Man invasion. If you don’t cooperate, how am I supposed to do my job?"
He couldn’t even get them to chase away a young girl. If he couldn’t manage this, how could he expect to command anyone going forward?
The middle-aged cop shook his head, thinking that this guy was merely an expert appointed from above and had yet to familiarize himself with any of his colleagues.
He hadn’t shown any skill but was already putting on airs like a leader. Who would follow such orders?
If he were truly competent, he’d already be conducting on-site inspections. Just moving his lips and not his hands, the middle-aged cop determined that if this guy wasn’t a fake expert, he was definitely a second-generation power player looking to take credit.
Su Xiaocai secretly made a face at the Insect Man Expert, thinking he looked like a fool. The quality of experts provided by the capital’s police force was truly concerning.
Unable to get rid of Su Xiaocai, and unwilling to use his highfalutin speech to do it himself, he made himself look petty.
The Insect Man Expert gnashed his teeth, left in disgrace, and paced back and forth, deliberately ignoring Su Xiaocai while trying to appear confident in front of the cameras.
He really wasn’t an expert at all. His family wanted him to gain some clout at the police department, so they deliberately inserted him into the capital’s Insect Man research expert team. After a few years, he’d be able to openly transfer to another department.
After all, the capital was infamously safe, with no Insect Men expected to appear.
But with this incident, he had to maintain his façade and act confidently.
He prayed that the real Insect Man experts would lend a hand when he returned, otherwise, his career would be over.
Once everyone on-site finished their interviews, Su Xiaocai submitted the bag of nukes and was free to leave.
As she left, the shop owners around her stuffed more things into her arms. Although their shops were nearly destroyed, the plaza manager was willing to compensate part of their losses.
No one was hurt, and that’s what mattered. Most people knew how to be grateful.
Su Xiaocai accepted the gifts joyfully.
The happier she acted, the more emotionally comforted the givers felt, and they, too, became more joyful.
Sometimes declining can make things awkward for others. The shopkeepers likely knew she wouldn’t accept anything too expensive, so they kept their gifts modest.
Some offered membership cards, some gave food, others even handed over toy weapons...
Su Xiaocai accepted everything with a sweet "thank you."
In this world, there’s always polarization.
For every grateful person, there’s another who complains. Some shop owners blamed Su Xiaocai, asking why she had to bring the fight to their doorsteps, indirectly costing them even more business.
Such complaints weren’t few.
But who cared what they thought? Su Xiaocai wasn’t fighting the Insect Man for their sake.
That afternoon, Su Xiaocai planned to buy a server.
Upon learning of her need, President Hu enthusiastically gifted her a brand new machine and even suggested discussing cooperation details later. No rush, they could draft a cooperation proposal first.
Su Xiaocai told President Hu that she planned to set up a company during the holidays and that they could invest as individuals.
Equity and management would be separate. She would be the legal representative, and they would hire managers to run the company.
President Hu and Wu Zhaoxiang hesitated slightly. They preferred technical support, and if Su Xiaocai set up a company independently, it didn’t quite align with their original intentions.
They wanted management rights, not just be passive shareholders.
But Su Xiaocai’s game was rare. Even without understanding games, they knew it would be a hit.
With more than a month left in the holiday, they said they’d think it over.
After a fight, Su Xiaocai felt unsatisfied; the aggression ingrained in her bones couldn’t dissipate.
This was a battlefield survivor’s aftereffect when returning to normal society. When bloodlust was stirred, there was a need to kill to appease it.
Back at school, she dragged Wu Qingqing and Xing Miao to the training room for a spar. With the help of two rookies, Su Xiaocai managed to calm her emotions.
But Wu Qingqing and Xing Miao suffered for it, as they both attacked Su Xiaocai and both ended up lying flat.
Wu Qingqing: I can’t take it anymore, I can’t take it anymore. If I keep fighting, I’ll die.
