Invincible Divine Doctor of the Beautiful Lady
Chapter 22 - 22 22 Good Man
22: Chapter 22 Good Man 22: Chapter 22 Good Man “You cooked as well?” Zhao Xinxin wasn’t angry but rather surprised.
She had thought Tangyu just made her some tonic soup, not expecting him to have cooked a meal too.
“Yes, Xinxin, it was getting late and since cooking the soup took some time, I went ahead and made some food too,” Tangyu explained while he hurried to the kitchen to bring the dishes to the table, consisting of four dishes and a soup.
The color and fragrance were all there, at least enough to make Zhao Xinxin irresistibly want to compliment them.
Just from the appearance and smell alone, she could tell the taste must be good.
“Mmm, this soup is really fresh and rich, creamy but not greasy, thick but not dispersed.
Tangyu, how did you manage to cook this?” After sipping the soup, Zhao Xinxin couldn’t help but rave about it.
She had never tasted anything so delicious.
Tangyu smiled and said, “Well, it’s a bit complicated actually.
This is my proprietary Tang Family Tonic Soup, made with as many as eighteen different ingredients.
It’s complex to make and if you can’t handle the heat well, you wouldn’t be able to achieve it.
Xinxin, if ever you try making it yourself, just stick to something simpler like pork ribs or old hen soup, just add some goji berries and ginseng.
Consider this the first course of therapy.
I will prepare the second and third courses over the next two weeks, ending each with a pot of Tang Family Tonic Soup.
There’s still soup left in the pot; you should finish it all today, it won’t keep till tomorrow.”
“Oh, okay.” Zhao Xinxin nodded, finding herself unable to say the words that were stuck in her throat.
As Zhao Xinxin finished a bowl of the soup, she realized Tangyu had already served her a bowl of rice.
This level of care, nearly exceeding that of a boyfriend, made her feel quite uncomfortable.
“You don’t need to serve me, I can do it myself, don’t make it seem as if I’m incapable of anything,” said Zhao Xinxin.
Tangyu made a face and said, “Sorry, Xinxin.
I don’t know why, but seeing you just makes me want to take care of you, and I found myself serving you food automatically, I almost started picking out dishes for you too.”
This slightly flirtatious comment made Zhao Xinxin wonder if Tangyu could actually be falling for her?
“Xinxin, do you mind if I stay for dinner?” asked Tangyu.
“Uh, of course not, you made all of this, how could you not have a portion?
Please don’t be so formal, it makes me feel really embarrassed because I don’t know what to say,” Zhao Xinxin replied.
Tangyu gave a smile and said, “Haha, facing such a beautiful woman as yourself, Xinxin, I have to maintain some gentlemanly grace.
I can tell you are meticulous in every aspect, so it’s best to be polite where appropriate.”
“It’s fine, Tangyu, no need for formalities, just be casual, just like at your own home,” Zhao Xinxin said; though her last statement made her feel odd, the words were already spoken, and she couldn’t take them back.
“Haha, then I won’t hold back, Xinxin.
Eat more fish, it’s good for your health,” Tangyu advised.
The two then shared a cozy yet slightly awkward dinner, the tension mostly stemming from Zhao Xinxin’s unease, while Tangyu seemed to be completely at ease.
After dinner, Tangyu even helped wash the dishes despite Zhao Xinxin’s protests, ultimately allowing him to proceed.
“Xinxin, it’s getting late, I should be heading back.
Don’t go to the office tonight, just rest at home.
Take good care of yourself while you’re alone,” Tangyu said as he prepared to leave after cleaning up everything.
Upon hearing Tangyu plan to leave without any delay, Zhao Xinxin felt a confusing mix of relief and worry.
Initially worried about what to do if Tangyu decided to stay longer, perhaps even overnight, she now felt slightly different.
“Leaving so soon?
Won’t you stay a bit longer for some tea?
You’ve been here for a while and I haven’t even offered you a cup of tea, how embarrassing,” Zhao Xinxin said.
Tangyu shook his head and replied, “Not today, Xinxin, maybe some other time.
It’s really late, I should go.”
“Oh, alright, then let me walk you downstairs.
Or, you could take my car and just drive it to the office tomorrow.
I can have Xiaoya pick me up for work,” Zhao Xinxin suggested.
“No need, Xinxin, just stay upstairs and relax.
I know my way out.
There’s no need to drive; it’s not too far, and I actually prefer to run back,” Tangyu declined.
Zhao Xinxin didn’t insist, simply nodding and saying, “Alright then, take care.”
After sending Tangyu off, Zhao Xinxin’s emotions were slow to settle.
The experiences of the afternoon felt almost dreamlike, and she still felt as though she was dreaming.
Such a good man, she had always thought they existed only in dramas, but to encounter one in real life was unexpected.
“Tangyu really is a rare good man, just a bit younger than me—ah Zhao Xinxin, what are you thinking about—” Zhao Xinxin shook her head and closed the door.
Leaving the residence complex, he checked a roadside map to confirm his route before Tangyu started his run.
Twenty minutes later, Tangyu reached the Linshui Bay complex where Lin Feifei lived, just as the sun had completely set and the sky darkened as night was about to fall.
Right upon entering the complex, Tangyu was surrounded by eight tall figures, each robust and strong.
It was clear they were trained, likely professional bodyguards or the like.
Seeing them made Tangyu’s eyebrow twitch, instantly recognizing them as men from the Wang Family.
It seemed like what Mr.
Cheng had said was true, the Wang Family was not going to let things go.
Despite facing these eight men, Tangyu remained completely unflustered, calmly facing them.
“Hmph, kid, you can sure keep your cool.
If you’re smart, just come with us quietly.
Otherwise, we don’t mind roughing you up right here and now,” one of the eight men harshly said.
Tangyu smiled faintly, saying, “The idea of me surrendering easily is impossible.
If you want to catch me, let’s see if you’ve got the skills.”
“Courting death.”
The eight thugs immediately flew into a rage, each rushing towards Tangyu.
Tangyu’s eyes turned cold, and without hesitation, his body dashed out like lightning.
His index and middle fingers shot out quickly, accurately hitting each of their wrists.
This touch instantly made their entire wrists go numb and weak, and they grimaced in pain, no longer able to attack Tangyu.
Tangyu glanced at the eight men coldly, saying, “Go back and tell the Wang Family to better not bother me again.
I’m patient, but even patience has its limits.
Bother me again, and don’t blame me for not being polite.” After speaking, he walked away directly.
As he walked into the villa, Uncle Cheng bumped into him.
“Tangyu, why have you come back so late?
The food is all cold,” Uncle Cheng said with concern.
“Got held up by some things, I’ve already had dinner,” Tangyu said.
Uncle Cheng nodded, “It’s good to be diligent on your first day of work.
Since you’ve eaten, I’ll have the maid clear things up.”
Tangyu didn’t mention what had just happened to Uncle Cheng.
Although it was clear that it was the Wang Family’s doing, what difference would it make knowing that?
The Wang Family certainly wouldn’t admit it.
The people who came today were mostly hired from a bodyguard firm for some money.
Without solid evidence, there’s no point in pursuing the matter.
Besides, Tangyu didn’t want to bother Uncle Cheng with such things.
Since it was aimed at him, he would handle it himself, and Tangyu wasn’t afraid.
Lin Feifei was watching TV, and when she saw Tangyu approach, she looked over and wrinkled her nose, “Why do you smell like a woman’s perfume?”
Tangyu sniffed himself, saying, “Really?
I can’t smell anything.”
“Come on, don’t hide it.
I’m sure you were with a woman all afternoon, and there must have been quite intimate contact for you to carry such a strong scent of perfume.
My nose is very sharp, especially at distinguishing scents, so you can’t fool me.
Come clean, who were you with today?
I bet you had dinner with that woman too,” Lin Feifei said, with an almost accusatory tone.
Tangyu was secretly surprised, not expecting Lin Feifei to have such sharp investigative skills.
“Yeah, I was with Sister Xinxin all afternoon, and we had dinner together too,” Tangyu said nonchalantly.
There was nothing secretive about it, nothing he felt needed to be hidden.
Seeing Tangyu so straightforwardly admitting it made Lin Feifei feel somewhat inexplicably defeated.
For some reason, she felt slightly uncomfortable.
“Who is Sister Xinxin?” Lin Feifei pressed.
Tangyu looked at Lin Feifei, “Why are you so anxious?
Why do you need to know everything so badly?
It sounds weird to me.”
A blush crept onto Lin Feifei’s face as she retorted petulantly, “Who’s anxious about you?
I was just curious and asking casually since I’m bored.
If you aren’t going to tell me, then fine; it’s no big deal.
At most, I’m just taking an interest because you’re my doctor.”
“Well, Sister Xinxin is our company’s general manager,” Tangyu said.
“The general manager, is she pretty?” Lin Feifei asked.
Tangyu nodded, “Very pretty.”
“Pervert.” As soon as Tangyu finished, Lin Feifei spat out these two words, her eyes filled with a hint of disdain.
Tangyu pursed his lips.
He was just telling the blatant truth; how had he become a pervert?
This was blatant slander.
But a wise man does not fight with women, as offending a villain is preferable to offending a woman, so Tangyu could only silently accept it.
Since he was labeled as a pervert, if he did something fitting that label in the future, wouldn’t it be justified?
“Am I prettier than her?” After a while, Lin Feifei turned her head and asked.
Tangyu hesitated for a moment, but answered honestly, “Yes.”
“You—pervert!” Lin Feifei turned away angrily.
Tangyu felt an ironic mix of amusement and disbelief.
Was this what they called sun shower in June?
