Invisible Security Guard
Chapter 1678 - 1698: The First Time, Okay or Not?
CHAPTER 1678: CHAPTER 1698: THE FIRST TIME, OKAY OR NOT?
Although the Cloud Marquis Region is vast, so vast that an ordinary person wouldn’t be able to walk through it all in a lifetime, but for Yusuf Zuck now, it only takes two steps to cross the entire Cloud Marquis Region!
Of course, that’s in a straight line. If you circled around the Cloud Marquis Region, you’d probably waste a lot of time.
Before it got dark, he brought the Princess into the city.
The Princess changed into a set of ordinary clothes, the kind made of coarse cloth, while Yusuf Zuck also found a bamboo hat and donned a cloak.
The two of them entered the city smoothly without any extortion, but after entering, Yusuf Zuck sensed something was amiss—it was Cloud Marquis City itself that felt unusual.
Because many troops were being assembled, and on the city’s streets, squads of Divine Weapons were frequently seen running by, as if they were gathering somewhere.
"It seems like Cloud Marquis’s army is assembling; what’s the reason for this?" the Princess asked curiously.
Yusuf Zuck was also puzzled, so he frowned and said, "Let’s follow them and take a look."
The two followed the direction of those Divine Weapons, all the way north, and eventually saw the Northern Camp of Cloud Marquis City.
As it was getting dark, the Northern Camp was brightly lit, and in the sky, roaring sounds were coming from time to time, after which a massive Divine Beast would burst out from the clouds.
People stood atop these Divine Beasts—some riding dragons, some horses, others tigers, and even cows. One by one, they ascended into the sky above the camp before showing their Waist Badges and landing into the Northern Camp.
The Northern Camp seemed like it was about to host a zoo exhibition—it was quite lively!
"Your Divine Pet is impressive!" said the Princess all of a sudden.
Yusuf Zuck gently stroked the little white cat sleeping in his arms and said, "She’s not my Divine Pet; she’s my partner."
"Meow~" Little White actually meowed and then started purring coquettishly.
"Your ownership of a Yin-Yang Cat hasn’t been leaked. If the king finds out, he might drop everything to come looking for you, and then you’re done for!" the Princess remarked.
"Thanks for the warning!" Yusuf Zuck replied with a faint smile.
"I also want to see how far you can go and how long you can survive!"
"I won’t die," Yusuf Zuck smiled and said. "Earlier, I saw many people flashing their Waist Badges when entering the camp, and the badges were quite varied. I even saw the ’student’ and ’teacher’ badges from the Theology Academy; what’s going on?" Yusuf Zuck gazed ahead, and even though the distance was far, his eyes could clearly see the badges being flashed by those arriving.
"This is probably Cloud Marquis assembling all his forces, and naturally, some from the Academy are under his command. He’s gathering everyone," the Princess frowned. "Could he be planning a rebellion? Otherwise, why such a big commotion?"
"Let’s go in as well," Yusuf Zuck suddenly smiled leisurely.
"Go in? How are we supposed to get in?" The Princess was taken aback—was Jordan Webb that bold? It was known that the opposing side had gathered all their top experts, and if they went in, it would be like walking into a trap, seeking their doom. And how could they even get in?
"Put on your hat, wear your cloak, let’s go!" Yusuf Zuck helped the Princess put on a cloak and wear the hat, and then they strode towards the entrance of the camp.
At the camp gate, squads of Armored Soldiers were coming and going, while those with Divine Pets were arriving from the sky. So when the guards saw two people swiftly approaching, wrapped in cloaks, they were puzzled.
Yusuf Zuck and the Princess were fast. As they reached the camp gate, the guard didn’t see their faces clearly, but as part of his duty, he had to question them.
However, just as he was about to question them, Yusuf Zuck pulled out a Waist Badge, the ’student’ badge of the Theology Academy, and barked, "Move aside."
"Yes, yes, yes." The guard, upon seeing the ’student’ badge, didn’t dare to look more closely and kept nodding.
Just like that, Yusuf Zuck and the Princess passed through the camp gate smoothly with just a badge.
The Princess found it somewhat puzzling, and slightly humorous, inwardly sighing about the guards’ lack of responsibility.
"Actually, it’s not their fault; now that Cloud Marquis has assembled everyone, how many people do these guards actually recognize? Given that significant figures are meeting here, the guards subconsciously assumed there would be no enemies or troublemakers. So when they saw my student badge, they naturally thought I was a top expert summoned by Cloud Marquis."
"You’re very good at reading people!" the Princess nodded.
"Not really, I can’t figure you out!" Yusuf Zuck chuckled.
"Why would you need to figure me out? Do you still need to? I’m now in someone else’s hands like a plaything; you tell me to go east, and I wouldn’t dare go west, so do you need to figure me out?" the Princess sneered.
"That’s not right! You’re describing me as too overbearing!" Yusuf Zuck smiled.
"Isn’t that so?"
"No, it’s not!"
"You’re saying nonsense with your eyes wide open!" The Princess pouted, then suddenly remembered something and said, "Right, earlier, you said you could cure my poison? How?"
"Just spend your life in solitude, why bother curing it?"
"You..." The Princess was finally speaking calmly with Yusuf Zuck, but she nearly fainted from anger!
Yusuf Zuck laughed, "If I cure it for you, won’t the king just give you to his lover?"
"That’s none of your business. Just tell me if you can cure it!" The Princess retorted angrily.
"I can but won’t. It doesn’t benefit me, so why should I cure it for you?"
"You’re probably just bluffing, aren’t you? My poison is something the king even finds troublesome and can’t cure; you can? Ha, funny!" The Princess taunted.
Yusuf Zuck smacked his lips: "Taunting won’t work. You saw how I subdued your Divine Pet, right? My Divine Liquid can cure it, but I’m just not going to use it on you!"
The Princess took a deep breath and shook all over. She was beginning to believe in the miraculous Divine Liquid Yusuf Zuck had because it was too miraculous. Her Divine Pet not only advanced after drinking a drop but also pledged loyalty to him. So, the Princess gritted her teeth and said, "Conditions, name your conditions for agreeing to it!"
"Do you think you have anything that would make me act?" Yusuf Zuck countered.
"Faith Divine Stones, my father has a lot, at least a hundred, all can be given to you!"
"I’ve already extorted that; I asked for a thousand pieces, and I believe your father is gathering them now, so that’s not a condition!"
"Then what else do you want?" The Princess yelled.
"I don’t know, haven’t figured it out yet!" Yusuf Zuck shrugged, taking large steps towards the examination platform in the camp, surrounded by important figures, tightly packed. Yusuf Zuck stood at the back of these bigwigs, with the Princess standing beside him.
More people continued arriving, making it even more crowded; soon, they were squeezed into the middle, unable to communicate privately!
After quite a while, Cloud Marquis hadn’t appeared yet, just squads of troops, and one expert after another quickly gathered.
The Princess was contemplating what terms might appease Jordan Webb enough to cure her poison, and as more and more people gathered, she suddenly gritted her teeth and said, "How about my first time?"
"First time for what?" Yusuf Zuck asked in confusion.
The Princess nearly spat out blood in fury: "You... you’re going too far!"
