Isekai Journey Of The Magic Archer
Chapter 1230: Focus on academics
[Eon's POV: ]
"How were the classes today?"
"Good. It was fun, actually."
Coming back to the council office by myself, I sat down on the desk.
President Zod was sitting in the chair, in the seat that belonged to him until just recently.
"Have you ever attended-."
"Oh no no. That person has never been my cup of tea. He had been interested in my sword ever since I was in the first year. He has asked me about it around nine times till now and I still don't plan to give out this pretty Lady to anyone."
Caressing the scabbard of his sword, the divine weapon that was crafted by someone far beyond the level of a grandmaster, something that while did not possess an Ego, was a weapon that could easily be compared to the relics like them.
"I got it from my master, after all. There's no way I could give it to anyone else." Once again, he remembered the times that he had spent with his master.
He had told us about his past, however there was still a lot that I don't know about this person.
"What do you think about this sword, Mister President? What bow of yours would you compare this one with?" He asked with a curious look, eager to actually know my answer.
He already knows about my eyes' ability to judge the strengths, abilities, and potential of an artifact.
There was a lot that I could find out with my eyes that one cannot know through simple appraisal skills.
In cases like this one, not even the master appraisals could figure out much about it. And truthfully, it's understandable.
"While it's not easy to compare it with my bows, I would compare it with Don. It must have been a masterpiece of its creator as well." I answered truthfully, taking out the bow of White light that could kill any dark or undead beings.
It was my master's failed masterpiece. It was a one of a kind weapon even though it wasn't what she had intended to make it.
'If she had succeeded, she would have created something even better than Asta. but even though it was unexpected, the master considered Don to be one of her masterpieces.'
A weapon that was the strongest counter of the undead and the dark creatures was not something simple. It had the power to kill any undead creature with the arrows that it produced.
If I use the special techniques that I've developed recently along with my enhanced Solnova, even the (Purple) ranked Divine beasts are doable.
'It could harm demons as well so the demonic cultists were also weak against it.'
It was a special weapon for me and my master. And the same went for this special sword sitting before me.
"Really? Don? Is it really that good?"
"Oh far more than that. It's invaluable."
A simple design that could very well be mistaken as a simple weapon. However, the sheath of the sword was adored with the highest level of enchantments, ones carved onto the item's very essence.
'It's not a technique I could use right now.'
The enchantments enhanced the weapon's destructive capabilities as well as its adaptability. Only one person could use this weapon according to the restrictions carved onto it, and the creator decided that person.
A simple design that could be changed, a silver-white blade that could channel any kind of Aura and Qi more effectively than any steel.
The blade was also made from a [Star Iron] a material that could be placed at the epitome of all crafting materials along with the bones and horns of the Dragonkin.
'Weapons made out of an actual dragon's remains were a myth. A myth that only those wielding a [{( Soul Armament )}] could ever possess.'
Making a weapon out of the remains of any divine beasts was very difficult since most of their physical bodies are spiritual. They are so closely connected to nature that even though they possess a physical body, that body is actually more Energy than matter.
Unless they allow it themselves, nothing could be made out of a part of their bodies. At least in this world.
'That's how it was, so, the fact that the president had a weapon like this was a fascinating thing itself.'
The handle of the weapon was made in a way that it would always move in a way that the wielder of the sword wanted without slipping or getting loose.
There were many aspects of the sword that made it a 'Divine' weapon, it was something far beyond any simple artifact.
"I see…" he seemed happy right now.
Perhaps my comparison meant a little more to him than what I imagined.
"President?"
"I'm not the president anymore, Lucifer. Call me Zodiac instead. You're the president now."
He said that with a smile, but his eyes had a strange compassion in his eyes.
"It's not going to be easy. Especially since it's you two, you'll have it even more difficult than us."
In their time, they did not have to deal with the threats like the cultists and evil gods. The opponents that we are about to face are far more dangerous than anything they have faced.
If that wasn't enough, there were things that I had to change by myself as well– both within the academy island and the world out there.
'Those are my own goals that I want the president to be a part of.'
He knew my ambitions, so he was even more worried about us.
"She will be lonely as well… I know you don't want that." He knew how inevitable some of the things were.
Even though she was the vice president right now, the burdens that will be on her as well as the things that she will have to face in my absence would not be pretty.
"I don't. Even if it's her… I've seen how difficult it could get for her."
Just being apart from each other for long was a pain for both of us. When the time comes and we have to stay away for much longer, I don't know how we will take care of ourselves.
She is much more sensitive than she looks. I know it's not going to be easy on her, but we both know it's inevitable.
"President, do you know why I'm doing so much?" I asked him a question this time, and he seemed to be prepared for this very specific question for a long time.
"For your sister?" He had observed me closely in the tower, he knew how dedicated I was to my sister, he knew all I wanted was for her to have a good life in a world that was at least a little better than the current one.

"Right. If it's for her, I don't mind going through all these difficulties. Even though it may seem selfish, walking on ember is sometimes easier if there's an oasis waiting at the end of it."
There will be fruits to what I'm nurturing right now.
The headmaster's difficult requests, being away from one another, missing out on classes and losing focus on the academics, there may come a time I have to act on my own, perhaps times when I have to escape a deathtrap, but I had accepted these possibilities when I decided to become the president.
"You're crazy, right. I forgot for a moment there." A chuckle almost escaped from him as he shook his head at me.
Then, looking up at me with his golden eyes, he got up from the seat that did not belong to him anymore.
"Come."
Asking me to take the seat that rightfully belonged to me now, placing his sword away and calling Sansan out from his pocket, he sat down before me, on the common chair.
"It suits you more." He mumbled, perhaps looking back to his time in this office and on this seat.
"Not at all, President."
I'm not going to stop calling him 'president'. He was the president for me when I met him and he will stay the president for me even after he's gone.
We will stay in touch. Once I sort out some things in the academy and deal with a few disturbances around the world, I will start focusing on Lightshade as well.
'He doesn't know about those plans yet, but the world will need people to work in the shadows once again.'
I wanted him. Del will join him as well, though not as someone who will work in the shadows.
There will be shadows that take care of things within the shadows and there will be those who work in broad daylight, those who will support us from the spotlights.
It will be two sides of a coin, the two phases of a day.
'But he shouldn't be burdened with those goals just yet.'
I didn't want to force him into joining me.
We are close. We have fought battles together. We have saved each other in the face of light and death.
We understand one another, but that does not mean he will join me unconditionally.
Del, perhaps for Rein. But the president doesn't really have any incentive to join a vigilante force.
"You're stubborn and difficult, you know? How does she handle you, I wonder." He seemed happier now, for some reason.
"She has her ways. I do as well, truthfully." Winking at him with a smile of my own, I made him burst into laughter.
"Hahaha, you're the bad boy as well, I see." He was happier, more free, and deep down, more lost than ever.
He didn't talk about the things that he was dealing with, but this interaction with me seemed to have helped him a little.
'It's not easy for him either.'
To leave this place and this position with everything he had been doing… It surely wasn't easy.
He was about to step onto a new path. And for that, he will need strength.
'Hopefully, he will find that strength within him itself.'
Finding it externally wasn't going to be easy, afterall…
