It's Perfectly Normal for my Slime to beat up a Dragon, Right?
Chapter 8 - Shu Shu, What I Love Most is Sneak Attacks
As the arena erupted in battle, everyone summoned their contract spirits—a menagerie of Violent Monkeys, Mud Monsters, and Green-backed Bugs, each looking ready for a fight. While Xia Bing focused intently on controlling her ice wolf's attacks, Chen Shu looked utterly dejected, vigorously massaging the 'poop' in his hands.
"Guji!" The golden slime, in stark contrast, looked absolutely blissful, shaking its big head in pure enjoyment.
Because contract spirits have low intelligence and fight in primitive, brutal ways, Beast Tamers must constantly control them to unleash their full combat potential. This is especially true for high-level Tamers, who must coordinate multiple spirits and combine their skills to unleash even greater power.
The ice wolf moved nimbly on sharp claws, its powerful area-of-effect skill instantly slowing any contract spirit that approached before sending them flying.
"Everyone attack together!" Zheng Yi shouted.
The skeleton soldier wielded its bone knife, boasting impressive defense, by blocking the oncoming onslaught, and attack power.
As the arena fighting intensified, Chen Shu triggered another choice.
[Option 1: Shout cheers on the spot, rallying support for Xia Bing]
Completion reward: Golden Slime obedience +1
[Option 2: Wave your hands while shouting: "Stop fighting, please stop fighting!"]
Completion reward: One bag of contract spirit feed
[Option 3: Take advantage of the distraction to sneak attack Zheng Yi and beat him up]
Completion reward: Large amount of Beast Taming Power
Did he even need to think?
With a decisive expression, Chen Shu took advantage of the chaos and snuck toward Beast Taming Class 3. He found Zheng Yi completely absorbed in controlling his skeleton soldier's clash with the ice wolf, and just as his opponent's focus was absolute, a sinful arm shot out and clamped over his mouth.
"Mmph... mmph..."
“Shhh Shh go to sleep”
Thanks to his tall build, Chen Shu silently dragged the struggling Zheng Yi away from the crowd, none of whom from Beast Taming Class 3 even noticed their main fighter was gone.
"Hehehe..."
With an evil laugh, Chen Shu dragged Zheng Yi into the arena's bathroom, skillfully pulling a urea fertilizer bag from behind him and shoving it over his captive's head.
Zheng Yi's vision went black as he struggled in vain, unable to summon his skeleton soldier for protection while it was locked in combat with the ice wolf.
BANG BANG BANG!
The bathroom filled with the sounds of a brutal beating. Through the haze of pain and fury, Zheng Yi was utterly bewildered. In his seventeen years, he'd never seen a Beast Tamer fight with their own fists—wasn't this completely insane?
Without its master's control, the skeleton's combat power plummeted, leading to a swift defeat by the ice wolf. With their leader's spirit gone, the morale of Beast Taming Class 3 collapsed, and the rest of their team quickly began to lose. Everyone in class 3 descended into chaos.
"Damn, how is this wolf so fierce? High power, sick skills - how do we fight this?"
"Even Zheng Yi lost. Let's just give up."
"Boss, I'd like to apply to lie flat¹. Is that okay?"
As the class buzzed with discussion, they turned to look for Zheng Yi, only to realize with a start that he had vanished mid-battle. Just as the question hung in the air, a figure staggered out from the bathroom, crying "Save me, save me," with a urea bag still covering his head.
"What the hell?"
The group looked at the moving urea bag and cautiously backed up several steps.
"Whose contract spirit is this?"
"It's me." Zheng Yi pulled off the bag, his face black and blue.
"Brother Zheng, what happened?"
Beast Taming Class 3 crowded forward with concern, though they all looked like they were stifling a laugh that wanted to surface.
They hadn't expected someone to sneak attack mid-battle, even putting a urea bag on Zheng Yi's head. How vicious!
"It must have been someone from Beast Taming Class 5!" Zheng Yi roared, his face bruised and swollen and his eyes burning with a hatred that reflected injuries far worse than Wang Meng's.
"Nonsense!" Chen Shu, having already slipped back into his class's ranks, shot to his feet with righteous indignation. "Everyone in my Beast Taming Class 5 is upright and honorable! Who would do such a despicable thing? But don't worry, I'll personally investigate. On my name, I'll get you a satisfactory answer."
Everyone stared, speechless at his audacity. As if to say, Could you PLEASE stop drawing so much attention to yourself?
"Chen Pi, where did you go just now?"
Wang Meng's expression shifted as he whispered.
"To throw away a urea bag."
"..."
The two whispered back and forth. Though they thought Chen Shu's behavior was extremely bizarre, Wang Meng smiled, feeling satisfied that his revenge had been achieved.
"You've already lost. Hand over the three Beast Orbs."
Xia Bing also gave Chen Shu a strange look before turning to Zheng Yi.
The ice wolf stepped forward, radiating an intimidating presence.
Zheng Yi looked utterly unwilling but finally produced three Beast Orbs.
"I remember that person was very tall."
He kept scanning Beast Taming Class 5. To drag him away silently, only a few people fit the criteria.
Finally, his gaze landed on Chen Shu.
"Don't worry, classmate. You can always trust me, Chen Shu."
Chen Shu looked serious as he made another promise.
Afterwards, students from the various classes gradually filed out of the arena.
Though Xia Bing had shown great power this time, what everyone discussed most was Zheng Yi and the perpetrator.
This person was truly too wicked.
Taking advantage of someone controlling their contract spirit to bag their head and drag them to the bathroom for a beating.
Zheng Yi's face was grim, fists clenched tight. His head was still buzzing.
This was peak humiliation!
"Ask the spectating students. We must find out who pulled this dirty trick!"
Zheng Yi put away his skeleton soldier and spoke to his classmates.
Meanwhile, Chen Shu was in excellent spirits. With the large amount of Beast Taming Power he'd gained, he'd directly become a Level 2 Beast Tamer.
Unfortunately, while the golden slime hadn't comprehended any new talents or skills, all its attributes had improved. He knew that once he became a Level 3 Beast Tamer, the slime would finally have some real combat ability.
Just as Chen Shu was riding his shared bicycle home, Xia Bing caught up to him. "Here," she said, handing him a Beast Orb. "If you hadn't acted today, I wouldn't have won so easily."
"Me? What did I do?" Chen Shu scratched his head, feigning confusion.
"I saw the bag you were carrying earlier."
"..."
"Fine, I'll come clean. It was me," Chen Shu admitted, pocketing the orb with a sheepish grin.
"Why would you fight personally? Battles between Beast Tamers are extremely dangerous; you have to protect yourself first."
"What's the big deal?" Chen Shu declared proudly, hopping on his bike. "Shu Shu here—what I love MOST is sneak attacks!"
As he sped away, leaving Xia Bing speechless, she could only shake her head. "What a peculiar person."
