Journey to Planar World
Chapter 271: Rewards for Each Savior
Recovering from the shock of how overpowered Otsutsuki Shibai was, Charlie gave a wry smile.
He had anticipated his request would be rejected. He was merely testing the waters; no harm in trying, right?
So, Charlie stated his true request, one he had carefully considered.
"How about a degraded version of Otsutsuki Shibai's Clairvoyance, the Senrigan dojutsu of Eida from the Planar World: Naruto?"
Every dojutsu in the Planar World: Naruto has its own unique powers. Senrigan is the distinctive eye ability of Eida.
Unlike most other eye-based powers, Senrigan isn't meant for combat. Its primary function is to allow Eida to gather and observe information across the entire world.
How does it work? Senrigan sends Eida's "consciousness" to any location in the world she desires, enabling her to see events no matter the distance.
However, it can only perceive events that occur physically in the world, not those on a spiritual level.
For example, it cannot see into the Kamui dimension, the mental space where Naruto communicates with Kurama, or the moment when Momoshiki makes Boruto his vessel.
In simple terms, Senrigan is a highly technical ability designed for information gathering.
Compared to Otsutsuki Shibai's Clairvoyance, Eida's Senrigan qualifies as a reward for the Saviors due to its limitations.
It's a purely support ability, with no explicit offensive or defensive elements.
"Approved." Alaya replied curtly, nodding slightly.
*BUZZ!*
She immediately granted Charlie's request. A soft blue light enveloped his body, unlike the usual golden glow.
"Nice backup choice, Charlie! Its effects aren't too different from Merlin's Clairvoyance. As expected from my chosen Savior—I'm great at picking people~"
Not only did Gaia praise Charlie, but she also patted herself on the back, puffing out her chest proudly.
Alaya was too lazy to comment on her friend's narcissistic behavior. Still, she had to admit that Charlie and Wang Jian—Gaia's chosen Saviors—outperformed those she had selected.
After all, of her eight Saviors, one had already died during the Quest—Thomas. That was a rather poor record.
Meanwhile, Charlie felt a sharp pain in his eyes. It lasted only a moment before fading completely, replaced by a strange sensation, as if something new had awakened within them.
Curious about the change in his eyes, he created an ice mirror using his Spirit Arts. The ice's surface clearly reflected his image.
Then, he activated Senrigan.
Originally, Charlie's pupil color was caramel, inherited from the Karasuki Rio template. It had changed to a striking sky blue after he gained Gojo Satoru's Six Eyes as a previous Quest reward.
Now, with Senrigan activated, while his pupil color remained sky blue, a unique pattern emerged.
In the center of his sky-blue pupils, a thin, dark crescent shape encircled the outer edge of the iris. Unlike a perfectly curved crescent moon, this one had slightly pointed ends, creating a dynamic and mysterious effect.
(Looks like I'll have to wait until I return to Orario to test Senrigan's abilities.)
Charlie tried using Senrigan, but it didn't work.
Where was he? The Void Sanctuary!
This was a realm beyond human comprehension, where the concepts of time and space didn't exist. Here, there was no "distance" for Senrigan to scan, no "past" to observe, as time itself wasn't linear.
For an ordinary human, stepping into such a realm would instantly cause their consciousness to collapse. Unable to comprehend time or space, their mind would lose all sense of existence, ultimately dissolving into the void itself without awareness.
The reason the Saviors retained their sense of self, avoided madness, and could think clearly in this place of nothingness was entirely due to the direct influence of Gaia and Alaya.
With nothing else to do, Charlie could only observe and listen to the other Saviors' requests.
"…"
Perhaps inspired by Charlie or having planned it long in advance, Wang Jian also requested an eye-based power.
However, its origin was from a different Planar World. Wang Jian asked for the Quirk Foresight of Sir Nighteye from the Planar World: Boku no Hero Academia, which allowed him to see another person's future from a third-person perspective.
Alaya granted it without hesitation.
Next was Oscar. Initially, he requested Goku's Ultra Instinct from the Planar World: Dragon Ball.
His request was met with a shake of Alaya's head. Unfortunately, Gaia and Alaya's resources were insufficient to grant it, as they had expended significant resources on the previous two Savior cycles.
Ultra Instinct is an ability at an extremely high existential level, requiring massive output to replicate.
Like Charlie, Oscar had to choose a similar alternative ability. So, he selected Divine Replication of Adam from the Planar World: Shuumatsu no Valkyrie.
As a human created in God's image, Adam was gifted with the ability to perfectly mimic any movement or technique he saw, including those used by divine beings. Regardless of speed or power, Adam could dodge any attack while simultaneously countering with the opponent's own moves.
Divine Replication could be considered a lesser version of Ultra Instinct, as it still relied on the eyes to observe and mimic, unlike Ultra Instinct, which reacts automatically without conscious effort. Still, it was an extremely powerful ability. Oscar's request was ultimately granted.
Next was Frank's turn. Unlike the previous Saviors who requested abilities, he asked for an item.
He requested the Sherlock Holmes Set from the Planar World: Doraemon.
The Sherlock Holmes Set consists of a hat, a toy pipe, a magnifying glass, and a cane.
The hat can be used by tilting its brim, allowing the wearer to make clever deductions or uncover useful clues by enhancing their focus. The pipe identifies culprits; blowing it creates a bubble that hits the true perpetrator's head before bursting. The magnifying glass reveals the location of the next clue or where the culprit might be. The cane points the way to the appropriate location for the "case."
In simple terms, the hat is for "Deduction." the pipe for "Conclusion." the magnifying glass for "Clairvoyance." and the cane for "Direction."
When combined with the Merlin's Clairvoyance he had previously claimed, the Sherlock Holmes Set + Merlin's Clairvoyance = Frank achieving a near-omniscient state!
Frank's request was granted without issue by Alaya.
Finally, it was Elena's turn.
She requested the Divine Protection of Powerful Resistances of Reinhard van Astrea from the Planar World: Re: Zero.
This Divine Protection is truly extraordinary; it reduces the effectiveness of all magical elements by up to 80% and can even withstand non-magical effects like explosions, fire, or water damage. Furthermore, the user is immune to magical buffs, debuffs, curses, diseases, toxins/poisons, drugs, alcohol, and other forms of ailment, as well as highly resistant to mind-affecting abilities.
After all, Elena was reincarnated in the Planar World: High School DxD, where demons, angels, and gods from mythologies truly exist. Magic is the dominant power system, followed by Sacred Gears and more.
With the Divine Protection of Powerful Resistances, Elena drastically increased her safety and survivability in that perilous supernatural world.
Alaya granted it without hesitation.
Thus, aside from Charlie and Oscar, whose requests were initially rejected, the reward-granting process for the other Saviors went smoothly.
"See you at the next meeting."
Not waiting for Gaia to spout more nonsense, Alaya promptly sent the nine Saviors back to their respective Planar Worlds.
*SHUA!*
A flash of light enveloped each Savior, and one by one, they vanished from the Void Sanctuary, leaving Gaia and Alaya alone once more in that realm of nothingness.
