Journey to the West: Great Saint Equal to Heaven
Chapter 192 - 192 173 Joining Forces with the Human Race
192: Chapter 173: Joining Forces with the Human Race 192: Chapter 173: Joining Forces with the Human Race Nu Ba could not bear to watch; she hadn’t followed them but only reminded Sun Wukong to be careful.
“Princess, rest assured, I won’t injure him,” said Yinglong with a smile.
Nu Ba wanted to tell Yinglong that she meant for Wukong to be careful not to injure Yinglong.
Seeing Yinglong’s response, she felt too embarrassed to say anything.
Sun Wukong and Yinglong went far away and dueled in the void.
Immortal gods from the Yellow Emperor Mansion rushed out to watch the duel between the two, buzzing with comments.
“Lord Yinglong is probably no match for Sun Wukong,” one said.
“I think so too, but the gap between them can’t be that big,” another chimed in.
“They say Sun Wukong has risen to become a Heavenly Venerate, while Lord Yinglong is only at the peak of a Celestial Immortal.
He can’t possibly stand a chance against Wukong,” said another.
“That’s not necessarily true,” someone retorted.
“Lord Yinglong, as a general from ancient times, is incredibly powerful and not someone Wukong can compare with.”
A group of people debated enthusiastically, all holding Yinglong in high regard.
They recognized Sun Wukong’s strength but felt that even if Wukong was formidable, to take down Yinglong, he would have to use many tricks, otherwise, success was unlikely.
Expectations are often far from reality.
Soon, the mana fluctuations in the distance ceased, and Sun Wukong and Yinglong returned.
“How did it go?”
Seeing that neither seemed hurt, Wind Lord asked curiously.
Yinglong, with a face full of shame, remained silent.
“It was a draw.
General Yinglong truly has formidable strength,” said Sun Wukong with a smile.
Yinglong knew that Wukong was sparing his feelings and hastily shook his head with a bitter smile, “Great Saint, there’s no need to save my face.
I’m no match for you.
If it hadn’t been for you holding back, I wouldn’t have been able to take even ten of your moves, and I would have been killed.”
The crowd was stunned.
The Great Sage Equalling Heaven’s strength was indeed formidable.
They looked at Sun Wukong with changed eyes, filled with awe.
Li Mu felt a bit eager to try and gauge Sun Wukong’s strength for himself.
However, Yinglong gave him a look and said irritably, “Li Mu, just forget about it.
We are at best evenly matched, and I might be a bit stronger than you.
If I’m no match for the Great Saint, you wouldn’t stand a chance against him.
It would be no different from courting death.”
Li Mu: “…”
He gave up the idea of challenging Wukong, especially since Yinglong admitted he was no match for Wukong.
“Dear brothers, we shouldn’t delay the princess and the Great Saint any longer.
They are here on serious business,” said Wind Lord, winking and smirking at the others.
They instantly understood and quickly stepped aside; if they disrupted the princess’s business, they would be in big trouble.
Nu Ba glared at them and proudly said, “At least you’re sensible.”
“Haha.”
The crowd didn’t mind and couldn’t help but laugh.
Sun Wukong didn’t argue; he just smiled faintly and followed Nu Ba into the Yellow Emperor’s traveling palace.
The Yellow Emperor was seated in the great hall, waiting for their arrival.
Beside him sat two women: one was stunningly beautiful even among female immortals, looking at Nu Ba with maternal affection.
The other woman was short and slightly dark-skinned, far from beautiful; in fact, she was somewhat ugly and sat on the other side of the Yellow Emperor.
Yet, both women had a loving gleam in their eyes as they looked at Nu Ba.
And both, despite their differences in appearance, had a sacred aura about them, kind and loving, invoking a motherly feeling at first sight.
Sun Wukong realized these must be Leizu and Momo, the Yellow Emperor’s principal wife and concubine.
They were also the cultural ancestors of the Human Race.
Upon seeing the trio, Nu Ba lunged forward and knelt before them, exclaiming, “Father, and both my mothers.”
Sun Wukong was puzzled; both mothers?
Which one was Nu Ba’s birth mother?
Or were neither of them actually her mother?
But they both seemed like Nu Ba’s birth mother.
“Stand up, child.
You’ve been gone for so many days, and Mo and I missed you so much.
You never think to come back and see us,” said the Yellow Emperor, glowering slightly in discontent: “Leizu, the way you’re putting it, it’s as if I don’t miss her.”
“What do you men know?” scoffed Leizu, giving the Yellow Emperor a reproachful look.
Yellow Emperor: “…”
Sun Wukong almost laughed; even the Yellow Emperor was henpecked.
Mo, on the other hand, was gentler, saying softly, “Husband also misses the child deeply, always talking about her.
Sister, don’t blame our lord.”
Leizu glared at Mo and said, “You always spoil him.
Look at all the silly things he’s done.
With three thousand beauties in the harem, after all these years, can he even remember the names of those sisters?
Spending his days in the company of women, he lacks ambition.
No wonder he hasn’t become a Great Heavenly Venerate yet.”
“Sister is right,” agreed Mo, nodding her head.
Seeing the possibility of a collective criticism, the Yellow Emperor hurriedly interjected: “Ahem, enough of that.
Don’t forget the real issue we’re here to address today.”
All three pairs of eyes turned to Sun Wukong.
Wukong remained composed, smiling slightly and bowing courteously: “I pay my respects to the Yellow Emperor and to both the noble mothers.”
“Great Saint, no need for formalities.
Please, take a seat,” said Leizu with a slight smile, as attendants brought a chair and Wukong gracefully sat down.
Seeing Wukong’s demeanor and comportment, full of nobility without a trace of the reported brutality, Leizu was quite pleased.
Especially considering how Sun Wukong had transformed into a human, his appearance was handsome and masculine, far superior to the increasingly effeminate immortals of the present.
