"What to do?" At this moment, Maitreya Buddha truly felt a sense of being caught in a dilemma, hard to retreat or advance.

Originally, Xuanzang and his followers’ cultivation levels were so high that it was extremely difficult to unfold the coordination work of the Journey to the West. Now, with Xuanzang wielding a world-reversing divine skill like the Soul Reversal Mantra, it is bound to attract flattery and favor from countless immortals and Buddhas.

This being the case, it would certainly be even harder to resume the coordination work of the Journey to the West, wouldn’t it?

But both Hierarchs are watching, even expressing their dissatisfaction with me, so, what can I do? What am I supposed to do?

Distressed, at this time, Maitreya Buddha felt exceedingly troubled.

Though the coordination work of the Journey to the West entailed immense merit, in the current situation, what significance does such merit hold, doesn’t it?

I’m finding it increasingly difficult to continue with this work!

Indeed, at this point, Maitreya Buddha even inwardly resented his past incarnation.

Isn’t it more favorable to hold a respectable position as one of the Three-World Buddhas? Isn’t that appealing? Why did he personally intervene and take over this Journey to the West for Scriptures job?

Does a role like this require someone as esteemed as one of the Three-World Buddhas to handle it?

Guanyin, being the first coordinator, ended up possessed by demons, does such an outcome not serve as a clear enough lesson? Why was my former self not vigilant enough?

To eventually meet a demise with both body and spirit destroyed? Moreover, upon reincarnation, this role again fell to me?

My latter self’s cultivation level is merely at the Great Luo Realm; even the likes of Emperor Ziwei, whose cultivation is not inferior to mine, have lost their lives. Can I truly coordinate the Journey to the West for Scriptures?

"Alas, should I, at this point, request the two Hierarchs to relieve me of the coordination work of the Journey to the West for Scriptures?"

Upon much contemplation, this thought silently sprang up in Maitreya Buddha’s mind.
