Just A Daoist Who Occasionally Kicks Ass
Chapter 168: Ancient Seal
CHAPTER 168: ANCIENT SEAL
Faced with Black Impermanence's provocation, the old Daoist from Mount Longhu showed not the slightest hint of anger. He let out a mocking laugh.
“If you're so eager to die, go ahead and try me. To beat you, this poor Daoist only needs one hand.”
His taunting was at full power. He didn’t take the group of powerful demonic cultivators surrounding him seriously at all, and that carefree demeanor made it hard to gauge his true strength. Truly, he was intimidating.
Li Yanchu stood on the sidelines, watching the battle unfold, ready to act at any moment.
As he saw the old master acting like this, the corner of his mouth twitched slightly.
This senior really is... quite the character.
However, Li Yanchu’s stance was very clear. He had accepted the man's Clearheart Jade Pendant, and they both belonged to Daoism.
No matter who this old Daoist planned to fight today, Li Yanchu would definitely back him up.
Several demonic cultivators began subtly closing in on the Celestial Master of Mount Longhu. Black Impermanence was the first to make a move.
Clang!
The black iron chains in his hands surged like a giant dragon, lashing out directly toward the old Daoist.
As Black Impermanence’s manifested form attacked, the monstrous beast the Bifang from the Classic of Mountains and Seas
, wreathed in the aura of countless vengeful spirits, also launched its strike without hesitation!
A dazzling stream of flame burst from the Bifang’s beak, its terrifying fire dyeing the sky red.
The mysterious and enigmatic chair also activated its primordial spirit divine technique, and a beam of destructive light shot straight toward the old Daoist.
Suspended in the air, the seven-colored, human-faced spider appeared motionless. But in truth, a faint, strange fragrance began to drift from its body.
In the blink of an eye, the scent enveloped the old Daoist.
Although these were all divine primordial spirit attacks and not the true entities of the ghosts and fierce beasts, their power was overwhelming, shaking heaven and earth with their might.
Faced with the siege of these top-tier experts, the old Daoist remained perfectly calm, completely unafraid. He drew out the yellow paper umbrella tucked in his robe and opened it gently.
He didn’t look like someone under siege from four masters; instead, he looked like someone casually preparing for rain. The moment the yellow paper umbrella opened, it transformed into a sky-covering curtain of light.
Whether it was Black Impermanence’s iron chains or the Bifang’s flames, all these terrifying divine techniques were blocked outside by the umbrella. He truly lived up to his title as the former head of the Four Great Celestial Masters!
Even with his Dao heart damaged, he still possessed powers beyond what ordinary cultivators could fathom.
The old Daoist remained as serene as ever. “With such petty tricks, you lot dare come out to fight over fate and fortune?”
The demonic cultivators surrounding him erupted in killing intent.
Li Yanchu, however, wasn’t surprised at all. Mount Longhu held a leading position within Zhengyi Daoism of the Kingdom of Qian. The weight behind the title Celestial Master of Mount Longhu could easily be imagined, especially since this was the former head of the Four Great Celestial Masters.
There was no way he’d be without his own formidable means.
That said, Li Yanchu had no intention of just standing by and watching this old Daoist get surrounded and attacked. A flash of killing intent flickered in his eyes, and he was about to make his move.
The powerful qi and blood within his body began to boil. He was ready to take down these evil demonic cultivators on behalf of this Daoist elder.
Suddenly, a ripple of spiritual awareness stirred within him. He looked toward the sky.
Boom!
A thunderclap exploded across the heavens. A streak of crimson light shot across the sky, and another astral-projected cultivator had arrived. His aura was wild and ancient, like a demonic god from primordial times. It was a Six-Armed Demon God.
He was barefoot and blue-faced; his beard and hair were bristling in all directions, and there was an eye opening and closing in each of his palms. His body stood a full five zhang tall, and his expression was ferocious. Arrogant and overbearing, his presence surged like a tidal wave.
The direction he was flying in happened to be blocked by the seven-colored human-faced spider.
The Six-Armed Demon God let out a cold smirk, not dodging or avoiding in the slightest. He charged forward with brute force. His primordial spirit was cloaked in a mass of demonic flames, making him appear like a revived Demon God out of ancient myth.
Bang!
The human-faced spider demon was sent flying with a deafening crash. Half of its body exploded into a bloody mist! It let out a shrill, wailing scream. Then, its grotesque, human-like face suddenly snapped its eyes open. They were a pair of ghostly white eyes.
Whoosh!
Threads of white spider silk shot out toward the Six-Armed Demon God. These silks were incredibly tough, laced with potent poison and corrosive power. Thus, they were natural nemeses to cultivators. Once entangled, it was nearly impossible to break free.
But the Six-Armed Demon God didn’t so much as flinch. The eyes on two of his hands burst forth with radiant divine light and incinerated all the spider silk instantly!
The demon-qi-saturated human-faced spider showed a look of utter terror, but before it could react, the Six-Armed Demon God grabbed it in one hand and shoved it straight into his mouth. He then devoured its primordial spirit in a single gulp!
The ancient, savage aura around the Six-Armed Demon God surged several levels higher in an instant. His ferocity and dominance left a deep impression on all the cultivators present. The sheer brutality was terrifying.
“That old Daoist is mine!” the Six-Armed Demon God bellowed, his tone overbearing, and. He then shot straight toward the old Daoist of Mount Longhu with overwhelming killing intent!
Even Li Yanchu, who had assumed this man had come to assist the Daoist, was momentarily caught off guard.
With that, the Six-Armed Demon God unleashed a torrent of his tyrannical primordial spirit arts.
Rumble!
A thunderous explosion echoed between heaven and earth. On one side was the mysterious, unknown Six-Armed Demon God; on the other, the Celestial Master of Mount Longhu.
The massive clash between these two top-tier powerhouses immediately drew the attention of nearby primordial spirits of cultivators out on their night excursions.
Several more streaks of primordial spirit light flew toward the battlefield.
The two cultivators who had just visualized the Buddhist Vajra guardian and the Daoist Six Jia Yang Spirit stood quietly in place. They showed no intention of joining the fight.
The visualization method of this Six-Armed Demon God was clearly on a whole different level compared to Black Impermanence and even the Vajra guardian's. He had crushed the human-faced spider demon in a single overpowering move, and his divine might was terrifying!
Black Impermanence and the others exchanged glances, all visibly wary of the Six-Armed Demon God’s strength and his overbearing, violent demeanor.
None dared to step forward recklessly. They feared that the moment they acted, he might turn on them next.
One of them was the cultivator who had visualized Black Impermanence, a soul-reaping envoy of the Underworld; another was the cultivator who had visualized the Bifang, the ferocious beast from the Classic of Mountains and Seas; The third had visualized a chair carved with totems of sinister and forbidden deities. All were formidable experts within the second realm!
Now, the three abandoned their siege on the Celestial Master of Mount Longhu. Instead, they turned their focus toward the stone statue of Baxia on the ground.
The Baxia statue concealed a great secret. Tonight, they had come into the mountain to seize an extraordinarily powerful treasure.
As they approached, these primordial spirits of experts quickly sensed something unusual.
The timeworn Baxia statue held a small seal in its mouth. Compared to the statue’s enormous size, the little seal seemed utterly insignificant, and it was so small that one would easily miss it without careful observation.
But this tiny seal exuded an ancient, vast, and boundless aura that struck terror into the heart. It was clearly no ordinary magical artifact, but a truly rare and extraordinary treasure.
Whether the Baxia statue from this legendary Blissful Land had come for the sake of protecting this ancient seal, or if some deeper secret lay hidden in these remote mountains, one thing was certain: seizing it now was the best course of action. Any delay could bring unforeseen consequences, as too many cultivators had come into the mountain tonight!
Yet the Baxia statue did not retreat. It simply remained rooted in place, as though guarding something. Or perhaps... waiting for something.
