Kakashi: Godless Ascension
Chapter 101 101: Ch101: Family Dinner
As time passed they finally finished all the paperwork and they could relax.
Kakashi stood up, stretching his arms over his head. "Well, I think it's about time to head home. Are you coming?"
Tsunade raised an eyebrow, her expression unreadable for a moment. "You've been home for hours already, haven't you?"
"I'm pretty sure you'd like a home-cooked meal. Kurenai's probably making something right now." Kakashi smiled, his eyes twinkling.
"Kurenai? And… Anko?" Tsunade gave him a curious look.
"Yeah, they both live with me. We all share the house. And there are some spacious rooms. So it works!" Kakashi smiled as he said.
Tsunade's eyes widened ever so slightly. "So… you have two women living with you… And now you want me to move in too?" She asked it with such boldness, it was impossible to miss the playful challenge in her voice.
"Well, we may need a bigger bed. I'll probably have to buy one large enough for four." Kakashi chuckled, his gaze steady.
A faint blush crept up Tsunade's neck, but she quickly masked it with a smirk. "I'm not sure about that," she said, leaning back in her chair as she rose to her feet. "But if you want me to, I'll move in. Just make sure there's room for me."
Kakashi laughed, turning toward the door. "I'll make sure there's room. Let's head over."
"Shizune, get ready. We're all going to Kakashi's house for dinner."Tsunade's tone was still playful as she addressed Shizune, who was still at her desk.
"Yes, Lady Tsunade."Shizune looked up, still flustered, but she nodded.
As they left the office together, Kakashi's eyes gleamed with amusement. "You sure you're ready for this, Tsunade?"
Tsunade rolled her eyes, her smile never fading. "I'm more than ready, Kakashi."
…..
The air outside was cool as Kakashi, Tsunade, and Shizune made their way back to his house.
As they reached the house, the warm scent of something savory wafted through the air, guiding them inside.
Kakashi pushed open the door, and the sight before them made Tsunade pause. The table was set beautifully, with a mixture of plates, grilled fish, steaming bowls of ramen, and even some delicate vegetable stew.
The dishes had the comforting, rustic appeal of something that came straight out of a family kitchen. Tsunade smiled, impressed by the effort that had gone into it.
"Dinner's ready!" Kurenai called out cheerfully, standing by the stove with a ladle in hand. Anko was seated at the table, already in her usual relaxed posture, a grin on her face.
"I hope you're hungry," Kurenai added, motioning for Tsunade to take a seat.
"This looks wonderful," Tsunade remarked, glancing at Kakashi. "You've got a good team here, Kakashi."
Kakashi chuckled softly, pulling out a chair for Tsunade. "I'm lucky to have them. Kurenai's cooking is the best, and Anko… well, she's the wild card, but she keeps things interesting." He sat next to her, his usual calm demeanor mixing with a subtle warmth that Tsunade appreciated.
As the group began to eat, the conversation flowed naturally, with Kurenai asking Tsunade about her experiences in the field and how she felt after falling in Kakashi's clutches.
Tsunade leaned back in her chair, enjoying the food as she shared stories from her past. Her stories were not always happy, but they resonated with the others, giving them glimpses into the woman who had been through so much and yet was still standing strong.
"So, how do you feel about all this?" Kurenai asked casually, referring to the way Tsunade had just settled into the household, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. "I mean, Kakashi has a rather… unconventional way of living."
Tsunade laughed, shaking her head. "It's different, that's for sure. But I don't mind it. You all seem like a good family, in your own way."
Anko chimed in with a grin. "Family, huh? Well, you've got to admit, Kakashi's a keeper. The man's got it all, a good house, good food, and other excellent skills…." She trailed off and winked at Kakashi who understood what she meant and just smiled and shook his head.
Shizune, who had been quiet up until this point, couldn't help but smile at the easy camaraderie.
She had witnessed Tsunade's hesitance in forming relationships in the past, so seeing her now, laughing and conversing with ease, was heartening.
Kakashi's presence seemed to have a calming effect on her, drawing out a side of Tsunade that not many got to see.
"Actually," Tsunade spoke up, setting down her chopsticks. "This food is good, but it's not the only reason I agreed to dinner here tonight."
Kakashi raised an eyebrow, his curiosity piqued. "Oh? What's the real reason, then?"
She looked at him directly. "Kakashi mentioned to me before that he wants me to take on Sakura and Karin as apprentices,"
"So where are those brats?" Tsunade asked as she thought that the three brats would wait for them but it seems not.
"That brat Naruto was getting impatient and was starving so he pestered Sasuke to treat them to ramen," Anko replied to Tsunade.
"So the brats left together, Ranmaru and Karin too."
"Well, it doesn't matter we can tell them tomorrow, after all, I live here now," Tsunade said as she leaned back and glanced at Kakashi who was eating like a starving ghost.
"You can wait until tomorrow after I buy a bed for four, so tonight you can stay in one of the empty rooms." Kakashi jokingly said he knew that some things shouldn't be rushed but that didn't mean he couldn't tease her.
"Hmph." Tsunade snorted and gave him a light kick under the table.
