Kung Fu Baby with 17 Doting Brothers
Chapter 281: Subduing Others with Martial Skill
CHAPTER 281: CHAPTER 281: SUBDUING OTHERS WITH MARTIAL SKILL
Tuanzi started her training and rehearsal a bit late.
Fortunately, the individual show centers on her performance, with the stage merely as a backdrop. She presents the program, leaving the gala crew to worry about how to create a better stage effect.
As for the team show, not to mention she has mastered over fifty types of traditional martial arts, even with those she hasn’t, given two days, she could practice them until they look quite convincing.
The only headache is how to integrate into the team.
A certain city Martial Arts Association training base.
Little Douding Tuanzi stared at the tall, long-legged people in front of her.
She looked at their long legs, then glanced down at her own short legs. A layer of disappointment shaded her tender little face.
[Miaomiao: So many people have long legs, but Miaomiao doesn’t.]
[Ancient Martial System: You’ll have them when you grow up.]
[Miaomiao: But that’ll take years and years.]
She’s good at math and realizes it’ll take at least twice as long as her current age to grow up.
"Are you Gu Miaomiao?"
While Tuanzi was in a daze, a voice came from above her head.
Looking up, she saw a young man in a workout outfit, with a buzz cut, looking quite energetic, though his gaze was not very friendly.
"Come on, let’s spar a little, let me see if you really deserve the center position."
Tuanzi had received offers for two team shows, on different TV stations.
This station originally planned for a youth team, inviting members from the local association, while the other team was a children’s team.
It’s normal for someone to be unhappy when a little kid suddenly joins the youth team.
Not everyone follows variety shows, and even if they do, they might suspect some acting is involved.
When Tuanzi became the center position, it naturally didn’t sit well with some people.
"Center position?"
[Ancient Martial System: It’s the central spot. You’ll perform in the middle for half a minute at the start.]
"Oh, I see," Tuanzi folded her hands, looking up at the young man, "But if Miaomiao doesn’t stand in the center, then where should she stand?"
"You?!"
The young man didn’t bother with words, walked to the center of the room, struck a pose, and gestured for Tuanzi to come.
This action was somewhat provocative.
Tuanzi puffed her cheeks and charged forward without hesitation.
A minute later, the young man was pinned to the ground, questioning his life choices.
Others, whether watching for fun or indifferent, were shocked.
"Wasn’t that just a minute? Yang Zhi ranks among the best in our association."
"I didn’t even catch the child’s moves."
"Good thing I didn’t go up to provoke."
"But she took the center spot right away, are you okay with that?"
Some members, realizing something was wrong, went to find the person in charge.
Tuanzi released her grip, waiting for Yang Zhi to slowly get up.
Yang Zhi sat cross-legged on the floor, questioning his life.
"Can you let me finish speaking?"
A chubby little face entered his view, and Yang Zhi instinctively leaned back, only to see Tuanzi staring at him angrily.
"I’m only this tall," Tuanzi gestured to her height, raising her arm, "And you guys are this tall. If I don’t stand in the center, the scene won’t be harmonious."
Tuanzi’s understanding of the center position wasn’t of being spotlighted but because she was short, they had to arrange her in the center for harmony.
"If you like the center position, you can have it. I’ll swap with you."
After speaking, Tuanzi recalled Yang Zhi’s position, her expression changed.
"But you’re in the back row. If that’s the case, the audience won’t see Miaomiao!"
A bunch of tall people would block her, and the audience wouldn’t even notice there was a dedicated little performer there.
Wouldn’t she be performing in vain?
Tuanzi looked utterly horrified.
Yang Zhi’s expression was complicated, feeling a bit ashamed.
"You go ahead."
He got up, coughed lightly, "For picture harmony, and besides, you have the skills."
He even suspected that even if everyone was up, they could all be knocked down by a little child within ten minutes.
Indeed, the path to mastering martial arts is long. He still has much to learn.
Very soon, the person in charge arrived, discovering the problem was resolved and sighed in relief.
But soon, he put on a stern face.
"The center position is rotated, Miaomiao is only at the center for the opening, after which everyone moves around, and everyone gets a chance to perform. We’ve worked hard to secure this performance, shouldn’t we unite to showcase the association’s style and martial arts charm?"
The person in charge emphasized: "Also, Miaomiao is an outsider, her participation is actually helping our association."
He scanned around, noticed some still dissatisfied, and clapped his hands.
"Someone’s not convinced, right? Then it’s simple, come on, spar with Miaomiao a few moves. If anyone is stronger than her, then I won’t mention ’outsider’ anymore. If you each get beaten by a five-year-old, then buckle down and learn, don’t think you’re a master after just a few years of training! Our president, over sixty, is too embarrassed to call himself a master, and practices daily, but you, you’re about to float away!"
Float?
Tuanzi instinctively flapped her little arms.
She actually could float up.
But the person in charge was so red with anger that she obediently kept her mouth shut.
Seeing Yang Zhi taken down in a minute, they knew they weren’t Tuanzi’s match. Yet, some people neither wanted to spar nor admitted defeat, and while training, they didn’t cooperate, soon being pulled out by the person in charge.
"Miaomiao, you spar with them a few moves."
Tuanzi obediently stepped forward, took a look at the person with a green face, and said in a kiddish voice, "How about I let you use one hand?"
She truly placed one hand behind her back.
The person: "Don’t look down on me!"
Then rushed forward.
Half a minute later, he was pinned to the ground by Tuanzi with one hand, his face rubbing on the floor, questioning life.
Tuanzi let go, stood up, and with a smile, glanced at the others who were discontented.
"How about you all come at once? Follow your heart. You’re just not convinced. But, oh, Miaomiao is in a hurry, there are other shows, and she needs to go to other cities, can’t delay here too long."
She doesn’t mind others’ gazes, but if everyone is discontent and doesn’t cooperate in training, it’d waste her time, which would be quite troubling.
Show-off, participating in so many programs, showing off, isn’t this? Some angrily thought.
They really teamed up and charged forward.
Upon reaching the destination, the opponent was gone. Then gusts of wind arose behind their heads, and before they realized it, one was slapped and sent flying, crashing to the ground, questioning life.
Tuanzi restrained her strength, whether striking or kicking, she let them ’gently’ land.
Several lay on the ground, as Tuanzi leisurely landed, wrapped her hands, stood among them, with eyebrows arched, "Can we practice now? Miaomiao really can’t waste too much time here."
Several of them grunted without speaking, and Tuanzi quickly approached, repeating once more.
"Can we practice now?" She slowly raised her fist, "Miaomiao’s not threatening you, Miaomiao really is in a hurry."
They immediately got up.
"We can! We can!"
