CHAPTER 208: THE GENERAL’S FIRST FLIGHT.

Jun Mingzhu had never been on a plane before, in fact she had never been at an airport in her entire life. Which is why she wanted the full experience. She just had to pull her own little pink polka-dotted suitcase which was shiny and new, with cut outs of alphabetical letters that spelled out her full name.

She had insisted on that because she was worried that another baby would steal her property or the airport people {as she called everyone that worked at the airport} would lose it.

Mingzhu would have preferred to walk alone like a proper young adult but her hand was firmly held by her mother who was also holding four leashes as they were followed by one dog and three cats which refused to be put inside carriers.

At security, Mingzhu was told to put the little stuffed green alien man that was riding along on her suitcase on the conveyor belt. Mingzhu took one peek at the dark insides where everything was disappearing and she shook her head. "I don’t want to send him to the dark place."

Mei Mei snatched the alien toy from Mingzhu and tossed it inside.

Mingzhu gasped and retracted her hand from her mother’s grasp. "Daddy, help." She screamed.

For peace to reign, the aviation security officer rescued the green alien man as soon as he came through and held him up. "Look, he is fine." She announced.

She handed the toy back to Mingzhu and Mingzhu snatched it and hugged it. Her eyes, when she looked at her mother were still screaming betrayal, not that her mother cared to explain her actions.

"We are taking a private plane for heavens sake! Why are we going through these checks?" Grandma Jun muttered. "The whole reason for owning your personal plane is to avoid all this."

"Everyone goes through security checks, it is the law." Madam Feng told her.

Grandma Jun sighed. "I know, but I still hate it. Do you have your own private plane too Qiqi?"

Madam Feng nodded. "My son bought it for me for my fiftieth birthday. We also own three company operated ones. You would be amazed by how many cakes we fly to other cities on a daily basis."

They went through all the checks, receiving curious looks when the aviation security officers noticed that they had brought a variety of pets.

"Yoohoo, am I late?" an unexpected guest or guests joined them.

It was the empress mother, Long Wen and the empress mother’s dogs. They joined madam Feng and grandma Jun.

Her dogs and the Jun dogs engaged in a bark off contests, cats hissed. Suddenly everything seemed more chaotic.

Royal agents suddenly burst into the baggage screening area and urged the officers to have all the luggage transported onto the plane immediately. Passports were stamped without the annoying scans and physical checks to ensure that the passport holder was the passport owner.

"I thought you would be in Sea city by now your highness." Madam Feng spoke to the empress mother.

"Doing what?" The empress mother asked her. "Chi Chi is helping out with security, Rize is shooting for her show somewhere in the palace. Most of my children and grandchildren are sure to run when they see me because they think I will eat them alive. My other friends have not yet left the city, so that leaves only you." She looked around and smiled when she saw Jingzhe up ahead. "And I need to have a word with our Jingzhe."

Madam Feng was taken aback for a second. Never did she ever imagine that her Jingzhe would become our Jingzhe to someone in the royal household.

With the arrival of the empress mother, they found themselves on the very large plane quickly and settled into their seats.

Knowing how restless Mingzhu could be, Mei Mei strapped her into the chair by a window seat and warned her strongly, "Don’t move Mingzhu."

"Can I push this button which reads eject?" She asked.

"No."

"Can I put on the Tv?"

"Wait until we are in the air."

"Can I order for chocolate milk with sprinkles?"

"No."

"Why?"

"Because we are not in a restaurant."

"Can I sit with grandma?"

"No."

"Why?"

Mei Mei turned her head and sighed. Mingzhu had too many questions. As the engines roared and the plane began to lift, Mei Mei put one of her hands over Mingzhu’s.

"Mom.." Mingzhu called in a small almost baby voice.

Mei Mei looked at her daughter and smiled, because no matter what was going on, she always had a smile for her baby. "Yes Mingzhu."

"Mingzhu is not scared but the little green alien man is scared. Look he is shaking."

Mei Mei looked at Mingzhu’s hand that was holding the toy. It was shaking indeed. But, it was not the alien man that was scared, it was Mingzhu. Not that Minghzu would ever admit this.

The general feared nothing and even if she was afraid, she would never admit it unless she was forced to.

"Should I sing you our duck song?" She asked her daughter.

Mingzhu shook her head. "Not me, mother. The little green alien man."

Mei Mei looked at the alien man. "Alright then. I will sing for him so that he is not scared. This is just a flight, like the one your daddy does with the cupcakes. So, don’t be sacred little alien man, just think of yourself as a bird flying in the sky."

Then, she started singing. Everyone that overheard bits of the conversation joined Mei Mei in singing to Mingzhu from wherever they were sitting.

At the back of the plane meanwhile, Jingzhe was trapped by the empress mother meanwhile. She was determined to have a private word with him concerning something that they had spoken about.

"You told me that Cosmosis was using dangerous technology. Why haven’t I seen a single space ship or plane using their new technology exploding or falling out of the sky?

The plan you gave me has some loopholes. I would like to hear some of your other ideas."
