CHAPTER 106: CHAPTER 106: LUNA’S MOM LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE ANNELISE WINTER

The two of them went downstairs to the regular ward.

There were a lot of people here; even the corridors were crowded, with some people laying on the ground.

Amidst the bustling crowd, Elias Warner did not see the mother Luna had mentioned.

Although he didn’t know Luna’s mother, none of these people gave him the right impression.

Confused, he lowered his head and softly asked Luna, "Did you see your mom? Which one is your mom?"

"She was just here, but now she’s gone. Dad, why do you think mom is avoiding me?"

Luna was very downcast, her fair little face showing a sorrowful expression.

Seeing Luna so heartbroken, an inexplicable anger rose in Elias’s chest. Would this woman really not want to look at her daughter even once? Or was there some untold reason?

Why is she avoiding Luna after all?

Elias Warner carried Luna through the corridors of the second-floor ward, but still could not find Luna’s mom.

Finally, he called Uncle Ford and asked him to locate her again.

Jane Shaw must be found and asked clearly why she abandoned her child.

"Luna, shall I take you home first? I’ve already asked Grandpa Ford to help find your mom. He’ll bring more people and find her. Do you have a photo of your mom?"

Elias remembered that last time when he had a video chat with Luna’s mom, although he saw her in the video, she was fully disguised, as if she didn’t want anyone to see her true face.

He desperately wanted to know what she looked like.

"Yes, I’ve always kept a photo mom gave me. The back of the photo has her phone number written on it. Mom was afraid I’d lose it, so she put the photo on me!"

Luna reached out with her small hand, rummaging through the pocket of her innermost garment repeatedly but couldn’t find the photo.

"Dad, I think I might have lost mom’s photo, but my mom is the most beautiful woman in the world. You can recognize her at a glance in the crowd!"

Elias snorted coldly, his large hand covering Luna’s soft hair, and he gently ruffled it.

The world of children is so simple; even when faced with a heartless mother, they still think she’s the most beautiful woman in the world.

"Dad? You don’t believe me? Everything I said is true; mom is the most beautiful girl in the world! Luna isn’t even as pretty as mom!"

"Dad believes you. Dad will take you home!"

Casually, Elias sent Uncle Ford a message, asking him to first check Jane Shaw’s records and send all her details over, including photos.

Uncle Ford was always very thorough; last time, Elias had asked him to locate Jane Shaw at Kybourne Hospital, and he had already retrieved her details, including photos.

Uncle Ford quickly sent Jane Shaw’s photo to Elias.

What was wrong with him?

Why fixate on Young Master Perry’s ex-girlfriend?

Upon receiving the photo, Elias thought that although this woman was pretty, she was far less so compared to Annelise Winter.

But he also felt like he was losing his mind.

Why was he comparing Jane Shaw to Annelise Winter?

Elias showed Luna the photo; it was the highest resolution photo, revealing even the pores on Jane Shaw’s face.

Luna took the photo and shook her head, "This auntie is very pretty, but not as beautiful as my mother. She isn’t my mom!"

Not her?

Elias frowned.

Could Luna truly be not the daughter of Jane Shaw and Chase Perry?

What was happening?

"Is your mom not named Jane Shaw?"

Elias asked, frowning, feeling both nervous and uneasy.

"Mom isn’t called Jane Shaw!" Luna’s fair cheeks showed denial in her two beautiful, grape-like eyes.

"Then what’s your mom’s name?" Elias couldn’t think of why she would hide her identity. Was it something she couldn’t disclose?

"Mom is just called mom, no other name!" Luna couldn’t remember her mother’s exact name, since everyone always called her Miss Winter.

"Let’s go, Luna, dad will take you home!"

Elias was suspicious, but from such a young child’s mouth, it seemed impossible to gather any information, so he thought it better to have Uncle Ford investigate.

He carried Luna back to the hospital’s underground parking, settled Luna in the passenger seat, and fastened her seatbelt.

Luna sat obediently in the car, while Elias casually sent Uncle Ford a message, telling him to stop investigating Jane Shaw and instead focus on the hospital where Luna was registered in Breslin, including Luna’s patient information and her guardian’s identity and appearance.

He didn’t believe there was information Elias Warner couldn’t uncover.

Annelise Winter’s heart almost leaped out of her throat when she heard Luna calling her name.

If she hadn’t run fast, she would have been caught red-handed by Elias Warner.

The reason Elias Warner didn’t find her at the hospital’s second-floor ward wasn’t just due to the overwhelming number of patients but also because she was hiding in the ladies’ restroom, peeping out stealthily.

Only after seeing Elias Warner leave with Luna did she dare come out to catch her breath.

However, she was worried about Elias taking Luna home, wondering how she would explain if she ran into Luna at Elias Warner’s place?

But for now, it was most important to return to Elias Warner’s place without him knowing she had run out.

She hurriedly changed clothes again and caught a taxi going home.

On the road, she specifically chose the route with the fewest traffic lights and the shortest distance.

Fortunately, she made it back just in time before Elias Warner returned.

Uncle Ford received a message from Annelise not to let Elias Warner know she met a friend who would send her home, and he returned from the hospital.

Just arriving home, he saw Elias Warner returning from outside with a child in his arms.

Regarding Luna, Uncle Ford had never heard Elias Warner mention her.

But based on the information Elias Warner had him investigating recently, he roughly deduced that the child was either related to his Young Master Elias or Young Master Perry.

As a subordinate, it was not his place to ask too much.

But the household didn’t only have Uncle Ford; there was also Mama Langdon, whom Elias Warner had brought from the old house.

She was a servant under the old madam, with a distant relationship with Renee Perry.

Distant enough to only know Renee Perry’s identity.

Even having stayed at the old house for so many years, she rarely had the chance to interact with Renee Perry.

Even if they met, it was only to pay respectful greetings.

Initially, she heard the old madam say that her grandson wanted to bring a cook, and Mama Langdon was oddly chosen.

Even Mama Langdon didn’t know why she was brought to the villa.

Whether it was cleaning or cooking, among all the servants in the Warner family, she wasn’t the most outstanding in any aspect.

But since Young Master wanted her over at the villa, there she went.
