Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 126: Kiss Marks
CHAPTER 126: CHAPTER 126: KISS MARKS
Sylvia is very happy that at this party, everyone should know that she’s Elias Warner’s girlfriend.
And just now, when she suggested Annelise stay, Elias Warner didn’t object.
This is the happiest moment of her life.
If today, her brother can have something happen with Annelise, that would be great.
In the future, Elias Warner would never like Annelise.
"Elias, Annelise is your sister, if my brother marries Annelise, we could have double the happiness."
Elias’s eyes shot cold light, reflected into Sylvia’s eyes through the rearview mirror.
She felt a bit scared.
"Uncle Ford, stop the car!"
After a cold voice sounded.
The screeching of the brakes echoed through the night.
Uncle Ford immediately stopped the car, though he couldn’t understand why since they had just left the Lowell Family’s home.
Sylvia was even more astonished, smiling as she looked at Elias Warner: "Elias, what’s wrong? Did we forget something at my place?"
"No!"
Another cold response, Elias Warner didn’t even open his eyes to look at her.
"Get out of the car!"
Sylvia was even more perplexed, wondering where she might have offended Elias Warner?
It doesn’t seem like it.
She’s heard he has cleanliness issues, but today’s outfit was freshly changed in the morning.
"Get out of the car!"
The tone was colder than before.
"Elias, what’s wrong? What’s really wrong here? Didn’t you say you’d need me to send you home?"
"No need!"
Seeing Sylvia not respond, Uncle Ford directly got out of the car and opened the door on Sylvia’s side.
"Miss Lowell, please get out of the car!"
Sylvia wanted to say something but Elias Warner’s glance swallowed the words she wanted to say.
"Elias... you kicked me out of the car all alone, and there’s no place to catch a cab around here..."
She really didn’t want to leave Elias Warner, so she summoned up her courage to probe.
"I don’t want to say it again!"
Sylvia could only obediently get out of the car.
With a "bang," Elias Warner closed the car door and sped off.
Uncle Ford continued to drive, glancing at Elias Warner through the rearview mirror.
"Sir, what about Old Master Lowell and Madam Lowell?"
"No need to be concerned!"
Uncle Ford didn’t say more, as he smiled slightly.
Lowell Family
The servants had already prepared a room for Annelise, which is usually shared by Annelise and Sylvia.
They often discussed school matters and shared their inner secrets here.
Thinking about the times she and Sylvia spent in that room, Annelise felt especially sorrowful.
All that happened at the party today indicated that her best friend and the man she loved most were together.
Everyone must know by now that Elias Warner is Sylvia’s boyfriend.
What does it mean for her, the ex-girlfriend, to stay in her former lover’s current girlfriend’s house?
Her heart felt utterly shattered.
Lucas Lowell knocked on the door, came upstairs to inquire: "Annelise, are you comfortable here? This is the room you and Sylvie have often stayed in. I asked Mama Langdon to tidy it up!"
"So, Sylvie doesn’t usually stay in this room?"
Annelise was surprised, realizing that Sylvia only stayed in this room when she was with her. It must mean Sylvia really disliked her, only pretending to be friends upfront while secretly detesting anything she used.
"Yes, Miss rarely stays in this room!" Mama Langdon answered directly.
Annelise remained silent.
Lucas Lowell wasn’t sure what Annelise was thinking but noticed she seemed troubled today.
"Annelise, you seem to have things on your mind? Did something happen?"
Lucas Lowell, actually, lacks patience and doesn’t know how to treat girls well, but Sylvia told him to be patient with Annelise.
"Lucas, I think it might be better for both of us to forget about this. I might leave your home today, or else, by tomorrow, people will be talking about us. And if we want to clarify things, it will be impossible to sort out!"
Annelise suddenly felt she didn’t understand Sylvia, absolutely didn’t understand.
After being friends for so many years, today felt like the first day she truly met her.
This is why her interest in Lucas Lowell quickly diminished.
If the sister turned out to be someone who hid so deeply, what of the brother?
Despite the gentle demeanor he showed in front of her now.
"Lucas, it’s fine, I’m leaving. Thanks for today!"
Annelise picked up her bag, wearing a plaid coat, and headed downstairs.
"Annelise, wait, the night is so dark outside, how will you leave? It’s tough to catch a cab around here! Furthermore, even though you and I aren’t a couple, you don’t need to leave from here. Haven’t you always been good friends with Sylvie? What’s wrong with staying at a friend’s place? Haven’t you done this many times?"
Lucas Lowell quickly caught up with Annelise and blocked her way, trying to make her stay.
"Just relax here and stay put, I’ll take you to work tomorrow. You need not worry internally!"
Lucas Lowell continued.
"No, Lucas, don’t trouble yourself. I should go, let Sylvie know I’ve left when she comes back!"
Annelise went downstairs.
Lucas Lowell still followed behind Annelise.
When they reached the door, Sylvia came back, breathing heavily.
"Sylvie, weren’t you with Elias? Why are you back so quickly?"
Lucas Lowell stared at Sylvia, surprised by the unusual behavior.
"Did you walk back? Why didn’t you call?"
"Where’s Elias? Didn’t he escort you? Why let you walk back alone?"
Lucas Lowell was very angry.
During the birthday banquet, he already sensed he wasn’t particularly satisfied with his sister, Sylvia.
"Oh, Elias and I took a walk outside, and he worried I’d catch a cold, so he let me come back first. The reason I’m so tired is because..."
Sylvia deliberately revealed the kiss marks on her neck.
The faint kiss marks on her neck were especially apparent.
Sylvia glanced at Annelise, seemingly hinting something to Lucas Lowell.
Lucas Lowell felt awkward and quickly said to Annelise: "Your good friend is back now, so aren’t you staying here? There’s no cab outside! You girls have a nice chat, I’ll take my leave now!"
Lucas Lowell worried that his presence would make Annelise feel pressured.
"Leave? Annelise? So late, where are you heading? Didn’t you promise to wait for my return so we could chat?"
Sylvia held Annelise’s hand and acted coy.
Annelise glanced at Sylvia.
This was the first time she looked at Sylvia so closely.
Not having paid attention before and not seeing how these features combined into the Sylvia she knew.
But strangely, it felt unfamiliar the more she looked.
Almost as if in a trance, she suspected watching the wrong person.
The red on Sylvia’s lips seemed to show signs of being bitten.
She suddenly recalled when Elias Warner forcibly treated her similarly last time...
And the kiss marks on her neck were so apparent.
