Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 131: Elias Warner Recognizes Her
CHAPTER 131: CHAPTER 131: ELIAS WARNER RECOGNIZES HER
Annelise Winter was surprised, she didn’t expect Mrs. Lockwood to personally bring Luna over to The Airline.
"Alright, I’ll go out right now. You two find a place to rest first."
After Annelise hung up the phone, she grabbed a mask and a scarf, and then left the office through the company’s back door.
She wore glasses and wrapped a scarf around her face, which was already the size of a palm; in this disguise, it was hard for anyone to recognize her as Annelise Winter.
When she arrived in front of Mrs. Lockwood and Luna, neither of them recognized her.
It wasn’t until Annelise lowered her head and reached her hand into Luna’s soft, fluffy hair that Luna happily lunged into her arms, shouting, "Mommy, Mommy!"
Annelise removed her glasses and placed them in her coat pocket, then tightly hugged Luna.
Luna kissed Annelise on the face and murmured, "Mommy, I missed you!"
"Mommy missed you too, my little darling, my little princess!"
Annelise rubbed her forehead against Luna’s.
Seeing the joy between the mother and daughter, Mrs. Lockwood was deeply moved and felt very happy.
"I’ll take a walk, you two have a good talk. I’ll come back to pick her up later!"
Concerned that her car parked here would attract too much attention, Mrs. Lockwood decided to leave first.
Annelise was very grateful.
Now it was just Annelise and Luna alone together.
"Luna, are you doing well at Grandma Lockwood’s house? Are you happy?"
"Mommy, Grandma Lockwood is nice, but I still miss you!"
Luna reached out her small, white hand and hugged Annelise’s neck.
"Mommy, what happened here? Why is it red?" Luna widened her eyes, curiously and worriedly touching a red mark on Annelise’s neck.
She involuntarily turned her face away.
In Luna’s naive, worried eyes, her face flushed down to her neck.
"Um, I got bitten by a bug."
"Mommy, are you lying? Where did the bug come from?"
Luna blinked and hugged her, "Mommy, there’s also one here!"
She pointed to a spot near Annelise’s collarbone.
Annelise was at a loss for words.
She didn’t know how to explain it to Luna.
Just then, the sound of rustling footsteps disrupted the quiet here.
It was Elias Warner and a group of people walking in this direction.
The familiar sound of sneakers rubbing against the ground.
Annelise was very grateful for her recent vigilance.
Otherwise, it would have been awful if Elias Warner saw her.
She quickly moved aside with Luna, a few meters away.
Elias, who had just gotten off the plane, was still listening to co-pilot Liam Sterling chattering in his ear.
"Captain Warner, your skills are amazing. I’m honored to fly with you!"
"By the way, Captain Warner, I wanted to ask you about Annelise..."
Elias Winter’s anger flared when he heard the name Annelise mentioned by Liam.
"I’m not familiar with her!"
Elias Warner seemed to refuse directly.
Liam felt that Elias’s connections were tight, and wanting to know about Annelise should have been very simple.
He was only trying to glean some information about Annelise from Elias.
But Elias was no longer paying attention to Lyle’s words.
Out of the corner of his eye, he caught sight of Luna.
He mumbled, "Luna?"
But in a flash, Luna’s figure vanished.
Could it be that he missed Luna so much that he was hallucinating?
How could Luna appear at the back door of The Airline?
But he felt it couldn’t be wrong; it must have been Luna.
He quickly broke away from the group around him and ran towards where Luna was.
"Captain Warner? Captain Warner?"
Liam scratched his head, puzzled and asked himself, "What’s going on? Why did he run off right in the middle of the conversation? What’s up with Captain Warner?"
Everyone else was shaking their heads too.
Elias Warner’s legs were long, so even though Annelise was intentionally running with Luna, Elias still caught up.
Two meters away from Luna, Elias shouted towards her, "Luna!"
Annelise froze, panic-stricken to the point of despair.
What should she do?
If it’s discovered that she’s actually Luna’s mother, how should she explain?
Luna was still in Annelise’s arms and, hearing someone call her name, turned her head and saw it was Elias Warner, she stretched out her arms and shouted towards Elias, "Daddy, Daddy!"
Elias Warner caught up, panting heavily.
He saw the back of Luna’s mother.
It was somewhat surprising; it matched exactly with the figure from the surveillance.
It really was Luna’s mother.
This woman must have heard him calling Luna just now.
But she still wanted to run?
What’s going on?
Even though Annelise was wrapped up tightly at this moment, she dared not speak to Elias Warner in her own voice.
Previously, when discussing matters about Luna, she had spoken to Elias Warner.
If she opened her mouth now, wouldn’t she be exposed?
What to do?
Annelise now just wanted to find a crack in the ground to hide in.
"Hey, you’re Luna’s mother, right?"
Elias Warner questioned loudly.
Moving forward, he tapped Annelise’s shoulder.
"Young Master Warner, please behave!"
Annelise forcefully altered her voice.
"You’re really something. I’m the one who saved Luna, the one who took her home and cared for her. As Luna’s lifesaver, shouldn’t you properly thank me? And yet you won’t even speak!"
Elias Warner was very angry.
It now seemed precisely the same as he thought before; this woman indeed lacked manners.
Annelise pressed her lips tightly.
Suppressing the panic inside, she had armored herself so well now.
Elias Warner shouldn’t recognize her, right?
Annelise turned around.
But it left Elias Warner dumbfounded.
It was indeed her; in the video that day, she was wearing the same disguise.
But why these eyes?
Even though her eyes were covered by hair, their overall shape could still be seen.
Why did they look so much like Annelise’s eyes?
Elias Warner frowned.
He mocked himself; he was indeed obsessed, seeing a woman and imagining she was Annelise.
Mrs. Lockwood saw Elias Warner and Annelise’s figure from the car.
She was also startled; she didn’t want Elias Warner to know Luna’s mother was Annelise.
She got out of the car and walked towards Elias Winter and Annelise.
"Elias, is it really you? What a coincidence to run into you, but I heard you were the one looking after Luna? Thank you so much!"
