"Mrs. Lockwood, what are you doing here?"

Elias Warner was surprised; he didn’t expect Mrs. Lockwood to know Luna and, from what she said, should also know Luna’s mother.

"I am good friends with Luna’s Mother. We’re just taking a stroll around here. I remember you were the one who transferred Luna from the airport to the best hospital. Really appreciate it!"

Elias Warner gradually approached Annelise Winter.

Elias Warner glared at Annelise Winter, as if commanding her to remove her mask.

"Mr. Warner, whether I take off my mask or not is my own privacy, and apparently, you don’t have the right to force me to remove it!"

Annelise pushed herself to endure her inner fear and uneasiness.

"Alright, Mr. Warner, I’m not sure if there’s a misunderstanding between you two. Luna’s mother didn’t mean to be disrespectful when speaking to you. She’s very good to Luna; this you can trust. I swear by my Lockwood Group’s century-old legacy!"

Mrs. Lockwood stepped in to diffuse the situation.

Elias Warner had no more grounds to doubt that the masked woman was a trafficker.

"Let’s go, let’s leave here so as not to disturb Captain Warner!"

Mrs. Lockwood tugged on Annelise and Luna’s hands, heading towards the car.

As they walked away, Luna turned to look at Elias Warner with eyes full of reluctance.

The rebellious demeanor in her speech was somewhat reminiscent of Annelise.

The departing figure also somewhat resembled Annelise.

Could it possibly be Annelise?

Elias Warner dashed towards The Airline’s direction like a madman, rushing all the way into Annelise’s office.

He walked in, panting heavily, grasping the doorway, frantically searching for Annelise’s figure.

Chloe Joyce was also there.

"Annelise, did I just see Luna’s mother?"

Elias Warner tested.

"I went to eat with Chloe, and after dinner, I’ve been here."

"Then why didn’t I see you when I came by just now?"

Chloe Joyce widened her eyes, exposing Elias Warner’s lie.

Elias Warner quickly replied, "Then maybe I was mistaken!"

"So, Captain Warner, was there something you needed?" Chloe asked again.

"No, just checking if you had changed the photo frames."

"Such minor tasks that trouble you to personally inquire about, really mindful!"

Chloe and Elias Warner exchanged small talk.

Annelise feigned shock, staring at her computer, secretly terrified inside.

Afraid of being exposed by Elias Warner.

"Nothing happened!"

Elias Warner shrugged it off and left.

The burst of energy Elias Warner had earlier dissipated like a deflated ball, leaving him completely drained.

Elias Warner hadn’t obtained the answer he wanted.

Only when the two in the office could no longer hear the footsteps outside, did Chloe finally tightly shut the office door.

She came to Annelise’s side, speaking softly, "Annelise, what’s going on? Luna? The little girl Captain Warner brought back? Isn’t she said to be Captain Warner’s daughter? Oh, do you know Luna’s mother? I originally wanted to pair you two together, but it seems that’s impossible now, boohoo!"

Elias Warner had already returned to his car by now.

The smoke swirled, helping him slowly regain his sanity.

What was he thinking?

Imagining the masked woman he met was Annelise. He really was going mad.
