Chapter 133: Wishing You an Early Son
CHAPTER 133: CHAPTER 133: WISHING YOU AN EARLY SON
He calmed down and extinguished the cigarette he was smoking in the car’s ashtray.
He opened the car door and walked into the autumn wind.
"Uncle Ford, go and find out why Mrs. Lockwood would know Luna’s mother."
"Yes, young master, aren’t you supposed to be flying today?"
"Hmm, when I’m back from flying, I want the answer!"
"Understood, young master!"
Uncle Ford started the investigation.
Elias Warner returned to the plane, adjusted his emotions, and prepared to fly.
Annelise Winter watched as the plane flew into the clouds, finally feeling slightly relieved.
She was constantly afraid that she might have said something wrong or displayed the wrong expression, leading Elias Warner to continue suspecting her.
So her heart remained unsettled.
Now she had to quickly come up with a way to dispel Elias Warner’s doubts about her.
After thinking it over, she decided to seek help from Mrs. Lockwood.
She knew Elias Warner too well; until he got a definitive answer, he would not give up investigating any tiny clue.
Therefore, Elias Warner would definitely secretly investigate the relationship between Luna’s mother and Mrs. Lockwood.
The thought made Annelise Winter restless.
In all of Kybourne, when Elias Warner wanted to investigate something, it was naturally easy for him. But if Mrs. Lockwood helped, it wouldn’t be so simple for Elias Warner to investigate.
Annelise Winter hurried home after work.
Chloe Joyce saw Annelise in a rush and quickly caught up and asked, "Annelise, you just got off work, and you’re running off. Where are you going? Did something happen?"
Chloe Joyce understood Annelise Winter the best. Although Annelise never disclosed if she encountered any difficulty.
Even with their close-knit relationship, Annelise wouldn’t say anything unless asked.
Chloe could sense from Annelise’s expression that something was definitely up.
"I’m just trying to hurry home and rest!"
Annelise Winter tried to brush it off.
This matter couldn’t be revealed to Chloe.
"Annelise, have you forgotten that your step-sister is hosting a post-honeymoon party today? We promised her we’d come. Are you not going?"
Thinking Annelise Winter was afraid of June Winter, Chloe quickly added, "You’re not scared of that sister of yours, are you? It’s okay, I’m here for you. I don’t believe she would do anything despicable out in public."
Annelise Winter burst into laughter.
"No, I’ve got something to do at home, you go ahead, I won’t be going!"
Annelise sat in the already-waiting taxi.
"Annelise, what important thing do you have at home? You know if you don’t go, that sister of yours will come up with some gossip about you again. I think it’s better if you go!"
Chloe Joyce made a valid point.
Annelise Winter didn’t want to constantly be at odds with June Winter.
She waved from the taxi, "I understand, once you arrive, send me the address, and I’ll come over!"
"Alright, I’ll be waiting for you at the party!"
Annelise Winter returned to Mrs. Lockwood’s villa.
The elderly lady was sipping health tea and smiled as she beckoned Annelise over.
"Annelise, you’re back! I just had Mrs. Shaw prepare some silver ear and lotus seed porridge for you to try!"
Luna also emerged, wrapping her small hands around Annelise’s leg.
"Mommy, you’re back?"
Luna was worried that her mom might have been bullied by her dad, and upon seeing her mom, she carefully examined her.
"Mom’s fine, Luna!"
Annelise Winter patted Luna’s head.
"Luna, ask Grandma Shaw to make your favorite salad, while grandma and mom have a chat!"
"Okay!"
Luna went off to find Mrs. Shaw.
Annelise Winter sat down, with an expression showing reluctance.
"Tell me, Annelise, speak openly here, no need to feel embarrassed!"
Mrs. Lockwood, after years navigating the business world, could instantly tell Annelise had something she needed her for.
"Grandma, I... need to ask you for a favor! Elias Warner doesn’t know Luna’s mother’s identity. I’d like you to help me keep this identity hidden."
"Ha-ha."
Mrs. Lockwood chuckled.
"Yes, I knew you would ask me this favor. There’s no need to say it, I already know, and everything is arranged."
Annelise Winter was surprised. She hadn’t spoken yet, but Mrs. Lockwood already anticipated it.
She even made proper arrangements.
Annelise Winter felt touched.
"Grandma Lockwood, I honestly don’t know how to thank you!"
"No need to be polite with me. Feel free to ask if you need anything, don’t shoulder it alone. With Luna by my side, don’t worry, I’ll take good care of her. Do what you need to do."
Mrs. Lockwood patted Annelise’s hand to comfort her.
Buzz... Buzz...
Annelise Winter’s phone rang.
It was Chloe.
"Annelise, the party is about to start, why aren’t you here yet?"
Chloe called Annelise.
"I’ll be there soon, send me the address!"
Annelise replied to Chloe.
"Okay, I’ll send it right away!"
Chloe sent the address to Annelise.
Upon seeing the address Chloe sent, Annelise Winter was stunned.
It was the very place where she had danced to raise money for Luna.
She immediately replied to Chloe.
"I have urgent matters tonight, can’t make it, Chloe, sorry!"
"Oh, that’s too bad."
Bar
The crowd was celebrating, Chase Perry and June Winter stood on stage, addressing everyone: "Celebrate away, Mr. Perry will cover all the expenses!"
June Winter patted her husband Chase Perry’s face.
"Congrats on your marriage!"
"Congrats on your marriage!"
"Wishing you many children!"
"..."
The crowd celebrated.
The bar was drenched in vibrant lights.
Chloe Joyce sat in a corner, observing.
In the center sat a man, embracing two gals, left and right, without a care for his image.
"Young Master Thorne, you’re as debonair as ever!"
Chase Perry walked over and commented to Eric Thorne.
Eric Thorne chuckled, "When have I ever changed my ways?"
"Young Master Thorne, aren’t you afraid of getting beaten again?"
Someone dropped the remark.
Suddenly, silence enveloped the crowd.
Chase and his peers seemed awkward, and Eric Thorne’s face showed displeasure.
Just then, an even more awkward situation emerged.
From the entrance, a pair of long legs stepped into the room.
Following that, a sleek figure caught everyone’s eye.
It was Elias Warner.
Everyone was taken aback, and the lively atmosphere suddenly quieted.
The crowd started discussing.
"Captain Warner comes to places like this?"
"Wow, that’s surprising!"
People from The Airline began chatting.
Everyone thought Elias Warner was indifferent to romance; he’d never been seen with any woman ambiguously.
Even though many beauties from The Airline wished to approach Elias Warner, he turned them all down.
And he never attended group gatherings.
Today’s scene was truly unexpected.
