CHAPTER 134: CHAPTER 134: FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND PER DANCE

Besides the people from The Airline being surprised, even more surprised were Eric Thorne and Chase Perry.

Chase Perry hadn’t expected Elias Warner to attend the party he and June Winter were hosting.

After all...

Things had been very unpleasant over the years because of Annelise Winter.

The sound of Elias Warner’s leather shoes clicking gradually approached from afar, and Chase Perry watched as Elias Warner slowly walked towards him.

He wanted to say something but didn’t know what to say.

"Bro..."

When Elias Warner passed by Chase Perry and Eric Thorne, Chase awkwardly called out.

But before he could finish saying "bro," Elias had already walked past him, heading straight for the innermost private room.

"Hey, have you guys heard about what happened between Captain Warner and Annelise? I heard that back then, Annelise dumped Captain Warner to hook up with Captain Chase Perry, but then Captain Chase Perry dumped her!"

"Hush, what nonsense are you talking about? It was clearly Annelise who wanted to play both sides, and as a result, both Captain Warner and Captain Chase Perry dumped her. She’s truly a fickle woman."

"Exactly, what’s so great about Annelise compared to our June? A true socialite, Annelise, with her lowly background, how could she ever compare?"

"Where’s Annelise? Has anyone seen her? Could it be that she doesn’t dare to show up? After all, her ex-boyfriend and ex-ex-boyfriend are both here."

"I bet she doesn’t dare to come, afraid she can’t measure up to June, feeling ashamed, and would only embarrass herself if she came."

The crowd gossiped, and June Winter felt delighted hearing it.

Yet, there was still a knot in her heart that hadn’t been untied. Whenever she thought of that little girl being the child of Chase Perry and Annelise, she felt upset.

Chloe Joyce frowned, amazed at what these people dared to say.

She raised her glass, addressing Ivy Willows and the others who had just been gossiping about Annelise, "Even if Annelise doesn’t come, it’s not because she doesn’t dare to, it’s because she despises attending such parties. Mistresses and scumbags are the perfect match, they’re not worthy of Annelise!"

"Chloe, what kind of joke are you making? Are you calling June a mistress? And saying Captain Chase Perry is a scumbag? You must be joking!"

Ivy Willows glared at Chloe Joyce and burst into laughter.

As if she had heard the most ridiculous joke.

"Isn’t that true? What I’m saying is factual!"

Chloe Joyce didn’t back down.

"So, what you’re saying is that Annelise, this fickle woman, is the victim? If she hadn’t tried to play both sides, how would Captain Warner and Captain Chase Perry have dumped her together?"

"Exactly, with someone like Annelise, could she find anyone better looking or better than Captain Chase Perry and Captain Warner? She’d probably regret it so much now that she’d turn green with envy, and she still calls others the mistress!"

"What nonsense are you all spouting? Dare to slander Annelise again, and I won’t let it go. Annelise is not the kind of person you’re talking about!"

Ivy Willows raised a glass of wine and splashed it onto Chloe Joyce.

Chloe Joyce wiped her face with a napkin and grabbed Ivy Willows’ hair, pressing it into the glass of water.

"Stop fighting, stop fighting!"

Someone shouted from the crowd as Chase Perry walked over to see Chloe Joyce and Ivy Willows already pulled apart.

Before questioning, Ivy Willows was quick to complain, "Captain Chase Perry, Chloe Joyce actually called you a scumbag! Said you dumped Annelise and called June a mistress scheming her way up."

Chloe Joyce blushed, about to explain.

Sincerely worried, she thought to herself, Now I’ve ruined Captain Chase Perry’s party.

"Chase..."

Before Chloe could finish, Chase Perry pulled her aside.

"Ivy, I invited you to the party hosted by me and June Winter, with the intention for everyone to bless us. You and Chloe Joyce are both from the same airline, was Chloe’s few words worth throwing wine on her head?"

"I..."

Ivy was a bit stunned, thinking Chloe Joyce should be the one being questioned. Shouldn’t Captain Chase Perry have thrown Chloe out of the party?

But instead, he was defending Chloe Joyce?

"Alright, I don’t want to see anyone causing trouble here again!"

Chase Perry left.

Chloe Joyce watched Chase Perry’s departing figure, took out her phone, and texted Annelise.

"Annelise, it was the right decision not to come. These people, June Winter and Chase Perry were gossiping about you, calling you a mistress when really June is the true mistress. Though you missed it, I fought with Ivy, she actually poured wine on me, and of course I retaliated—I pressed her head into the glass of water and poured the entire jug of wine on her!"

Chloe Joyce excitedly recounted everything that had happened at the party to Annelise.

"Annelise, why don’t you come now, and bring a super attractive guy, one more handsome than even Captain Chase Perry to put them in their place!"

Backstage at the bar

Makeup room

Lily stood at the door, leaning against it, staring into the makeup room where Annelise Winter was. Her long red nails were painted, with heavy makeup on her face.

A cigarette was tucked between her index and middle fingers.

Smoke spiraled from her mouth.

Encircling her fingers, a smile curled on her lips as she watched Annelise Winter putting on makeup inside.

Annelise heard her phone ringing, paused her makeup, and checked her phone.

"Baby, let me tell you, there’s a lucrative gig today, are you in? It’s just dancing for the VIPs on the second floor, they’re offering 50,000 per show, 100,000 for two!"

Lily grew more excited as she spoke, considering it the biggest project she’d seen since working here.

"Baby, you’re truly my lucky charm. As soon as you came, we got such a gig. So, want to take it?"

The second floor?

Annelise frowned.

Then she texted Chloe Joyce.

"Are you guys on the second floor of the bar?"

"Yeah, Annelise, where are you? Are you here yet?"

Annelise didn’t respond.

It seemed the second-floor customers were indeed Chase Perry and his group.

"Oh come on, don’t hesitate, baby. This gig equals several others combined. Think about it!"

Lily waited at the door for Annelise’s response.

"Okay, but I want to perform this dance with a mask on!"

"Fine, after all, the clients are interested in your dance, not your face. I agree, you can dance with a mask on!"

Lily agreed without hesitation.

VIP lounge on the second floor.

Eric Thorne was still drinking with Chase Perry.

When suddenly, June Winter jumped up, stood on the stage, and took the microphone.

"Everyone, please pause. As a token of appreciation for your presence, Chase Perry and I have specially invited the most famous dance hostess here, Poppy, to give everyone a pole dance performance!"

"Wow, what a treat!"

The guys and gals from The Airline cheered excitedly.

"No kidding, I’ve never seen a dance hostess perform before. It’s truly going to be eye-opening!"

"Indeed, I heard these dance hostesses charge tens of thousands per performance here!"

"Yeah, Captain Chase Perry and June Winter have truly spared no expense. We’re really in for a treat today!"

At this moment, Elias Warner sat in the private room, when suddenly the door was pushed open.
