CHAPTER 25: CHAPTER 25: ENDURE THE PAIN

In the room.

Annelise Winter was sleeping uneasily. In her dream, Luna was crying, searching for her mother, searching for her father, and cried as she lay down on the surgical table, her small chest was cut open with a scarlet incision by the doctor.

Then she dreamt of Elias Warner, his icy gaze almost piercing her heart, telling her word by word that he disliked her, hated her, regretted knowing her.

She dreamt of him being in an accident during a peacekeeping mission, unconscious, no matter how she shouted his name, he wouldn’t open his eyes to look at her.

Annelise Winter curled up on the sofa, the white coat had been taken off, revealing the shirt inside and the pencil skirt.

On the dark leather sofa, her two white long legs tangled, entwining with the cold color to brew a forbidden hue.

Her shirt’s buttons were undone two notches, her black hair was like satin wrapped around her neck, stained with red lips.

With her restless movements, the IV tube stretched into a straight line, like a taut string.

Perhaps sleeping in clothes was too uncomfortable; so uncomfortable that she was almost suffocating. The hand with the needle in it wanted to tug off the skirt!

Elias Warner couldn’t resist any longer and leaned down, holding her hand down, knowing full well he shouldn’t, yet still interlaced his fingers with hers!

"What do you want to do?" His elbow propped on the pillow beside her cheek, his back forming a neat curve, taut as a bowstring, to the extreme.

"Uncomfortable!" Annelise Winter half-awake, only feeling the sound around her ears burning.

Longing overflowed, her delicate long lashes quivered, wet, her long legs rubbed, her brow lightly furrowed.

Elias Warner gazed at her, not wanting her to bite those red lips.

"Endure it."

His voice was cold and hard, close in distance, holding her hand to stop her from moving excessively, otherwise, the blood would spill back.

The man’s gaze instantly turned sharp, his hand strength increased, stopping her.

With a cold, thin finger back pressing heavily over her red lips, "Whose name are you calling?"

Annelise Winter felt uncomfortable, that heartache returned.

It seemed as though she could smell the brisk clean scent of cedar, but that feeling was elusive, "It hurts..."

Raising her hand to grasp, her long arm wrapped around the man’s neck, wanting to hold him tightly in her embrace.

Yet she was restrained by the man’s five-finger grip, he pinched her face and pulled her away, "Call it out for me to hear."

Annelise Winter felt the pain, raised her hand wanting to push the other person away.

Dreamed again of Chase Perry forcing money into her hand, she whimpered, "..."

"What?"

"Chase Perry!"

"..."

Those two words, like ice picks, drilled into the man’s ears, instantly, all emotions plunged to freezing point.

As if awakened by a thorough splash of cold water.

Frozen, motionless, thin lips suddenly formed a sneer!

The next second, his hand clamped hard on her jaw, "Look carefully, I am not your Chase Perry!"

Annelise Winter was shocked awake by the oppressive voice, eyes snapped open, unexpected to see Elias Warner leaning over her.

Assuming she had burned her fever to confusion.

She struggled to close her eyes and opened them again, shaking her head, was the dream not yet over?

Why did Chase Perry turn into Elias Warner.

Her forehead throbbed, Elias Warner pursed his lips and released her, he straightened up, the coldness instantly enveloping him.

"I heard you took annual leave, why haven’t you finished paying the debt yet, and trying to run away!"

Annelise Winter’s vision gradually cleared, only then did she realize she seemed to be in a strange preparation room.

She forced her body to sit upright, seeing the man had risen and stood in front of her.

His pitch-black eyes fell, deeply fixating on her.

Eyes filled with mockery and sarcasm.

The stinging of the needle on the back of her hand also reminded her that this was not a dream, it was real!

Annelise Winter was filled with unease, filled with remorse at what she had said when she was unconscious.

She struggled to remember, she was clearly arguing with Chase Perry before fainting, over the card Chase Perry threw at her.

Then back and forth, she couldn’t stand it, the anger overwhelmed her, she blacked out and passed out.

Why after waking up would she be with Elias Warner.

Thinking of everything that happened today, Annelise Winter couldn’t describe the feeling in her heart.

She rushed to get up, looking down at herself, seeing her disheveled appearance, terribly ashamed and embarrassed.

So, he knew about her leave?

Did he say they’d be strangers from now on.

Asked her not to get close.

She had fainted, surely it wasn’t her sleepwalking sticking onto him, right? So why did he appear in front of her.

Alone man, alone woman!

The two in such a posture.

Could it be that he was just here to collect debt?

Then why was her clothing undone, her skirt pulled like that.

Biting her lip, she grabbed the blanket beside and covered herself, Annelise Winter clawed at the corner fiercely, raised her beautiful eyes glaring over.

"Where is this place? Why am I here? And my clothes..."

Looking up at him!

Gazing at him as if looking at a lecher!

The man stood against the light, the captain’s uniform neatly wrapped his upright body, only a slight crease on the waist.

His eyes now only contained coldness, fixated on her, "Trying to undress in front of your Chase Perry, only to find upon waking that the person is me, are you disappointed?"

Annelise Winter was embarrassed, her cheeks finally blushing due to shame and irritation, "What nonsense are you saying? When did I ever want to undress in front of Chase Perry!"

"Just now, wasn’t it you undressing while calling Chase Perry’s name?" the man said coldly.

Annelise Winter: "..."

At this moment, Annelise Winter wished she could bite off her own tongue and turn back time.

The sound of a vibrating phone buzzed, it was Elias Warner’s phone in his pants pocket that kept ringing.

He didn’t pay it any mind, "At a loss for words? Let me remind you, our Airline’s concept of employment and corporate culture, holds high standards for the moral quality of employees! If your certain personal life affects the Airline’s reputation, the company will still not allow it!"

"Hope you reflect on yourself, otherwise there will be a personnel interview with you!"

Annelise Winter bit her lip looking at Elias Warner, completely unclear on what he meant.

To let him speak to her with such sarcasm.

Heart filled with indescribable feelings.

"I have nothing to say, at least as a person I’ve done nothing against Airline’s rules. If Captain Warner dislikes it, you can report me! But I haven’t made mistakes so I won’t resign, oh, if you don’t want to see me in the Airline, you can detour when you see me! But don’t bring me to such a place!"

Elias Warner knew from a young age she was stubborn, unexpected that she could rebut him with such calmness!

He squinted watching her, danger sparked, his eyes churned with thick emotions, "Don’t want me to bring you to such a place?"

Annelise Winter didn’t want to look at him, diverted her gaze, "Yes, I have said, I won’t provoke Captain Warner to avoid unnecessary troubles, please keep your distance from me!"
