Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 35: Elias Warner Sponsors Luna!
CHAPTER 35: CHAPTER 35: ELIAS WARNER SPONSORS LUNA!
Just as the call connects, Dr. Flora’s delighted voice spills through the screen.
"Luna’s Mother, I have incredibly good news to share with you: a sponsor is willing to fund Luna! They just provided two million for us to pass on to you! And they said that after the surgery, if Luna needs further assistance, you can reach out to them again."
"Really?"
Annelise Winter covers her mouth in disbelief, "But we can’t accept two million; it’s not a small amount."
"Don’t think that way, Luna’s Mother. The sponsor seems to have a connection with Luna. And we owe our thanks to the gentleman today; otherwise, Luna wouldn’t have stopped crying anytime soon."
Annelise was puzzled.
"Do you know why? Because this gentleman is also from Veridia, and he looks a lot like Luna. Today, Luna was crying while waiting downstairs for you, and it was he who comforted her. Luna called him daddy the moment she saw him—said he looked exactly like her father, thinking it was a surprise you’d given her."
Annelise couldn’t believe such a coincidence, "I really thank him immensely, Dr. Flora. Please convey my gratitude to him."
Flora continued, "Rest assured, I already mentioned to him our hope that he continues playing the role of Luna’s daddy for the day, so that Luna’s hope and joy aren’t dashed. He agreed."
"That’s truly kind of him, but the money... we really can’t accept it."
"There’s no need to be too concerned; the gentleman is financially comfortable."
Flora spoke gleefully, "Oh! I took some pictures of him with Luna, and I’ll send them over soon. Oh, right, when can you come over? Luna’s surgery has been postponed by a day. If you could make it, you might be able to thank Luna’s sponsor daddy face-to-face."
"Alright, I understand. I’ll try to get there as soon as possible; I’ll find a way by tomorrow."
After hanging up, Dr. Flora happily conveyed to Elias Warner, "Mr. Warner, Luna’s Mother thanks you and says she’ll hurry over to thank you in person."
"Alright, I’ll stay at the hospital these next few days to accompany Luna. I’ll head to her ward first."
After Elias left, Flora sent the photos of Elias and Luna together to Annelise.
Annelise opened her phone, but the moment she saw the photos, her phone dropped right out of her hand!
This generous sponsor, how could it be him!
Elias Warner!
Thankfully, she was seated on the bed; otherwise, the sound of the phone hitting the ground would surely catch Renee Perry’s attention.
Her palms were sweaty, her face suddenly pale.
Is this a joke from the heavens?
Otherwise, how could there be such a coincidence!
In the vast crowd, what kind of blood ties could have guided them to meet like this on the other side of the earth!
In the photo, Elias Warner stands tall and strong in the hospital corridor, effortlessly holding Luna in his arms.
He wasn’t wearing a uniform but a long black coat.
Why was he in the hospital, and why exactly did he decide to sponsor Luna?
Is it just because Luna mistook him for her father, and because Luna is a Veridian girl?
If Elias Warner has already discovered his daughter’s identity, Annelise dares not imagine the consequences.
But she has to prepare for the worst.
If Luna let something slip, Elias Warner might find out Luna’s true identity.
She can’t accept any of these outcomes.
Because she cannot lose Luna.
No way!
Tomorrow!
Whatever it takes, she has to get to Meridia, even if Renee Perry assumes she’s going to flirt with Elias Warner.
Yet there are no flights to Breslin from nearby cities tomorrow, even if there are, Warner Family is an airline family, with Renee guarding against her, she probably can’t get out through official channels.
So how can she fly to Breslin?
Right now, only one person can help her!
But damn it, she already removed the domestic SIM card today.
No number left on her phone.
She has to wait until daylight.
Finally, a glimmer of light breaks, and Annelise Winter swiftly gets ready before heading downstairs.
Seeing her appear, Renee squinted her beautiful eyes a bit before picking up an exquisite box and handing it to Mama Carter, "This outfit, go upstairs and change into it."
Annelise pinches the edge of her pants, not protesting, obediently going upstairs to change.
The estate is heavily guarded, even stepping out of her room means someone follows; there’s no escape from here.
She has to leave the Whitlock Estate first.
Taking out the outfit, Annelise pauses.
Unexpectedly so revealing and figure-hugging.
Originally today, Annelise wore the simplest white shirt and black pants for travel, but switching into this would make moving difficult.
No choice but to steel herself and change.
A flowing pale satin dress, halter style, revealing elegant curves, perfect square shoulders and slender arms, while the back is held by a loose thin strap—bareback design.
She even applied light makeup.
Upon returning, even Renee’s cat was stunned.
Annelise steadied herself before Renee, "Ms. Warner, I’m ready. Can I go now?"
Renee didn’t expect Annelise to be so compliant, half-believing, "You’re aware the first date is with Young Master Alden, right? Go ahead, I’ll have Uncle Ray take you. Behave on the date, if this doesn’t work out, there are others, don’t pull any tricks."
"I understand, Ms. Warner."
Soon after, Annelise gets into a stretch Lincoln limo.
Because of today’s outfit, she’s unable to carry a bag, placing only her visa, passport, and bank card in a shoulder bag beside her.
Just out the door, before getting in the car, she sees Uncle Ford arriving.
Uncle Ford brought some gifts, saying the young master had sent them over.
Actually, early this morning Annelise had been wandering around the Whitlock Estate, hoping to find Uncle Ford to help her execute her plan to go to Breslin.
Unexpectedly, Uncle Ford really came!
As they brushed past, Annelise quickly slipped a note into Uncle Ford’s hand.
Arriving at the pre-booked hot spring hotel.
She gambles that Uncle Ford will figure a way to reach her.
Uncle Ray sent men to guard the entrance, warning her not to play tricks.
Annelise’s bet was right; actually, Uncle Ford had come in Elias Warner’s name early in the morning, to gauge Annelise’s situation.
Unexpectedly, he was handed a note by Annelise.
Leaving The Sandalwood, Uncle Ford opens the note.
"Uncle Ford, I want to see Elias Warner now, can you send me to Breslin?"
