Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 57: A Raging Fire of Passion
CHAPTER 57: CHAPTER 57: A RAGING FIRE OF PASSION
Elias Warner’s eyes were calm, straightforward, and his brows furrowed slightly. "I have something to do!"
"But didn’t you say you missed me a few days ago? We haven’t had a proper meeting since we returned!" The girl tried to tug at his coat hem.
But Elias Warner deftly avoided her.
With one hand in his pocket, Elias Warner shot a warning glance at her, stepped aside politely and calmly, "You all eat, no need to wait for me."
With that, Elias Warner took long strides and left sideways.
Leaving behind his fiancée’s family, looking terribly displeased.
Renee Perry’s face turned red with anger!
But at such an occasion, she couldn’t lose composure, so she quickly invited the other family to sit down, "Oh my, I’m really sorry, Elias has always been decisive. It was my fault today, I didn’t tell him about dinner to avoid disturbing him since he’s been flying outside these days, it clashed with his schedule!"
"But it’s okay. Even if he’s not here, we can still finish the meal and discuss what needs to be discussed! Elias doesn’t understand matters of marriage and engagement. We just need to notify him when the time comes."
Hearing this, the faces of the fiancée’s family, including the fiancée, finally looked better.
...
Annelise Winter left the hotel and went to the hospital alone.
She had fallen badly, making a big cut in her calf, bleeding a lot, and her ankle was sprained as well.
She went to the hospital alone for a simple bandaging before taking a taxi back to the apartment.
After returning, she sat on the sofa and called Dr. Flora.
"Luna’s Mother! I knew it wasn’t convenient for you, so I didn’t call you. I just wanted to tell you about Luna’s condition. The little one is so brave and strong, she got out of danger in just two days, and everything is normal! She’s already been transferred to a sterile ward today! Once she wakes up tomorrow, you can talk to her!"
Dr. Flora was very pleased, "It’s just that when she first woke up and didn’t see you or her dad, she was a bit sad! Now hearing that you’re bringing her back home, she’s really well-behaved. She said she wants to get better quickly so that she won’t have to be apart from mom ever again once she returns home."
"Alright, I promised Luna, this time I will never break my promise."
She had broken too many promises before.
If it weren’t for her daughter’s own strength, she dared not imagine the consequences!
"That’s great! Luna really can’t afford getting let down by adults anymore. Speaking of, what about Luna’s father? Since Mr. Warner no longer agrees to role-play, have you thought of a suitable reason to comfort Luna?"
"I haven’t thought of one yet but don’t worry, I will find a way to make sure Luna isn’t subjected to any distress."
After hanging up, Annelise Winter’s gaze drifted through the small window of the apartment, looking at the suspended Luna in the sky.
As always, through the moon outside the window, she missed her Luna.
After being in a daze for a while, she went to the bathroom to shower.
She threw herself into the bathroom, letting the cold water pour down.
Even though she could finally breathe a sigh of relief, her heart felt like it was weighed down by a stone.
She felt so uncomfortable it was hard to breathe.
Her mind drifted uncontrollably, thinking of Elias Warner.
She wondered how the dinner between Elias Warner and his fiancée went!
The two families meeting, they would probably talk about marriage and engagement.
After dinner, he might send his fiancée home, maybe even stay over at her place for the night.
After all, they haven’t seen each other in a week.
Couples in love must be a blaze of passion, right?
In the past, when they were together.
Every time Elias Warner saw her, he wanted to be close to her.
That year she had just turned eighteen.
She had pursued Elias Warner for two years, and he remained unmoved.
He had just graduated from military school and joined the Air Force Special Forces, holding himself to very high standards.
Though only twenty-two, his willpower was as hard as iron, and his self-control was terrifyingly strong.
The stubborn stone couldn’t be warmed up, and her self-esteem was greatly bruised.
She had been about to give up, until the college entrance examination was over, and her grandfather told her a secret.
He said that Elias Warner also had a Peace Lock like the one she wore on her neck, tokens of their engagement.
Elias Warner had known about the engagement since he was a child.
Once she grew up, he would have to fulfill the engagement and marry her.
She liked him so much back then, and upon knowing about their engagement, she was thrilled to think that this man belonged only to her all along, that no matter how much he struggled, he couldn’t escape from her grasp, Annelise Winter was too excited to sleep.
So right after the college entrance exam, she moved into The Whitlock Estate again.
She just wanted to be the first to see him and force him to marry her.
She really wanted to possess him, to claim him as her own.
She wanted to marry him immediately and be his wife.
But she waited a long time, and he never came back.
She became so angry that she told Elias Warner’s mother that she didn’t want to stay in Kybourne anymore, that she wanted to study abroad, marry a handsome foreign man with blonde hair and blue eyes, and never return.
She began preparing for the paperwork to go abroad, refusing to apply to any domestic university.
Her original first choice was also to become a pilot.
That was once her dream, a dream to follow his footsteps.
Unexpectedly, on the night before the end of the application period, Elias Warner suddenly returned.
That night, she had just finished bathing when she heard a knock at the door.
Initially, she thought it was Mama Carter bringing her milk.
But unexpectedly, as soon as she opened the door, he stood there like an icy mountain blocking the doorway.
On that stormy night, he was soaked from the rain, and his flight training uniform was drenched, his short hair dripping water, running down his sharp and handsome silhouette, absorbing into his chest.
His waist was slim, training pants clinging to lean, long legs, tall and imposing, the storm looming.
After half a year of not seeing him, he was darker and more robust than before, but the muscles under his wet clothes were just a thin layer, his youthful vigor and intensity uncompromisingly bursting out.
Those dark eyes were unsettling.
"You! Why are you back?"
Realizing she had just finished showering, wearing only a thin-strapped nightdress with nothing underneath.
Annelise Winter blushed red, covering her chest, hiding behind the door.
But unexpectedly, Elias Warner’s cold gaze glanced at her bare feet, then directly forced his way into her room.
He had never done that before.
To avoid suspicion, to avoid her, he had never stepped into her room even a bit.
But that night, Elias Warner scared her, and it was too late to stop him.
After squeezing in, Elias Warner effortlessly cupped her waist with one hand, lifting her directly onto the desk.
