Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 63: Discovered?
CHAPTER 63: CHAPTER 63: DISCOVERED?
That person was tall with long legs, dressed in a black suit, half-leaning against the car door, looking up!
Clearly, he had just come down over the wall, yet his face wasn’t flushed, nor was he out of breath, so calm and collected, no trace of distress.
This fool, this is the fifth floor!
The old walls and debris, any mishap, and the consequences would be unimaginable.
But those dark, deep eyes, even from so far away, could make Annelise feel the cold chill emanating from him.
As if he wanted to devour her.
Remembering his proposal just now, thinking of the unfinished business between them.
The atmosphere of ambiguity, excitement, and taboo instantly wrapped around Annelise’s heart.
The wind outside the window accompanied her intense heartbeat, impacting her eardrums.
She tightly clenched her fingers, alternating between grasping and releasing, as Elias watched steadily from afar.
But this is the airline’s apartment.
He stood so openly downstairs without avoiding heed!
He was Elias Warner, the Crown Prince of Kybourne South Airlines, his face noble and handsome with high recognizability, unforgettable.
Soon enough, several airline flight attendant girls poked their heads out.
Her heartbeat quickened, as if pulled by sour bitterness.
Hurriedly retreating to her room, she took out her phone to text Elias with trembling hands: Are you trying to get yourself killed?
Downstairs, Elias’s phone lit up in response.
He took it out, glanced at the screen, responding coldly: Or should I come up now?
Annelise’s eyes reddened, her nose tinged with sourness: Go back; not tonight.
Elias: Tomorrow.
Annelise recalled the past, Elias standing under her school dormitory, delivering flowers in the cold wind and reluctant to leave.
He was still that arrogant youth belonging to her!
Annelise’s eyes grew wet.
Now, her reputation in his circle was already infamous.
And they had long gone different paths at the crossroads.
The ending was destined not to align.
So, with trembling hands, as if when she had left him, she resolutely typed: I have to work tomorrow.
"The day after tomorrow, you come over yourself."
He replied, lifting his cold, proud eyes to look at Annelise, as if giving her no room for resistance.
Though the wind had already tousled the bangs on his forehead into disarray.
His body was nearly frozen, yet he remained downstairs, unwilling to leave.
"Annelise, help me grab a coat!"
Until Sylvia shouted to her from the bathroom.
Annelise snuffled with her wind-chilled nose, reluctantly retreating from the balcony.
"Okay, I’m coming!"
Only when Annelise’s shadow was no longer visible on the balcony did Elias retreat into the car.
Annelise returned to the bedroom as Sylvia had already come out from the bathroom.
She lay beside Annelise, holding her, and said: "Annelise, tell me, have you had any needs recently?"
Annelise’s cheeks flushed.
"Sylvia, why ask that!"
"Why not? It’s so normal. It was after falling in love I realized, after that and that, I loved him more. My boyfriend is amazing at it!"
Sylvia continued: "I have yet to tell you about my affair with him, right? Even though I’m here, I so miss him dearly. I realize I am a bit addicted to it..."
Annelise’s mind was still occupied by the image of Elias standing below, looking up.
After all these years, is his chest still as broad?
"Annelise, why aren’t you talking? Do you think I’m wholly lost in love? Aren’t you curious about my boyfriend? Aren’t you happy for me?"
Sylvia looked into Annelise’s eyes and coyly smiled.
Annelise couldn’t believe how open-minded Sylvia had become after pursuing her dream guy.
She started discussing such topics with her.
Actually, she only had one experience in this aspect.
That was five years ago with Elias at the Warner Family that one time.
The reckless disregard that night, the traces that man left on her, she’d never forget.
She realized she couldn’t accept another man in her life.
Afraid to reminisce, Annelise looked at Sylvia, "No wonder you seem so much prettier this time you came back; it’s because of the nourishment of love."
With seriousness, Annelise said: "Sylvia, you are my best friend. Who else would I wish for if not you? Sylvia, I’m happy for you!"
"That’s good. My sweet Annelise is the best! Annelise, I think I’d better find you a boyfriend too. Otherwise, I’d worry too much about you alone..."
"The bag you gave me last time, I can’t accept it. I’ll return it to you tomorrow morning!"
"Don’t be so formal with me, alright? Okay, let’s sleep!"
The two continued chatting until they fell asleep.
The next day, Annelise was awakened by her phone.
As she opened her eyes, the sunlight had already streamed through the window, illuminating the entire room.
When Annelise turned to see the side, she didn’t find Sylvia’s shadow.
Luckily, Sylvia stayed overnight with her.
Otherwise, after Herbert Alden’s incident, she would’ve dared not sleep.
She muttered: "Why leave without saying anything?"
The bag she placed in the wardrobe was still in its original position, not taken.
The guilt toward Sylvia grew heavier in her heart.
She must figure out a way to return the bag to Sylvia, or on another occasion, select a pricier engagement gift for Sylvia.
While pondering, when Annelise raised her eyes, she accidentally saw the watch placed on the bedside table.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Sylvia probably hadn’t noticed or seen such an expensive watch in her room, otherwise, she would’ve asked her.
Annelise exhaled in relief, stowing the watch away, deciding to return Elias’s watch when the time was right.
Flora called in.
Annelise answered the call.
"Miss Winter, Luna has been transferred out of the sterile ward, you should be happy! By afternoon, you can call her."
"Really? That’s wonderful!"
Annelise felt a sense of survival after a disaster.
There was no feeling stronger than this at the moment.
Her little Luna finally earned a new life.
Everything she did was worth it.
After exchanging pleasantries with Flora, she quickly hung up, ready to go to work.
Even though she was on a ten-day leave and less than halfway through, now that she’d returned home, she had to work hard.
She needed to work diligently for a better life for her daughter Luna in the future.
On the other hand, she sensed the apartment felt unsafe to her after Herbert Alden’s atrocity last night.
As for Renee Perry instructing Herbert Alden’s actions against her, she wouldn’t let it go so easily.
