Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 77: This Is the Kitchen—Are You Crazy?
CHAPTER 77: CHAPTER 77: THIS IS THE KITCHEN—ARE YOU CRAZY?
Elias Warner!
Wasn’t he supposed to be on a flight mission?
How come he’s back so soon?
Logically, he should be returning in two days.
Could it be that he discovered something? Did he return to cause trouble for her?
Annelise Winter felt all her blood rush to her head, "Elias Warner, let go! This is the old estate, if someone finds out..."
Elias didn’t allow Annelise to continue speaking, his strong forearm propping against her side, while his other hand forcefully lifted her chin.
He was very tall; even though she was sitting on the glass counter, he still had to look down to see her.
His uniform as a captain wrapped around his lean and tall figure.
He stepped forward, the chill he brought with him instantly enveloping her.
"Wasn’t I supposed to wait for you at my place? You’re being disobedient?"
She raised her hand to resist him, clearly sensing the cold, oppressive displeasure emanating from him.
Annelise’s hair was disheveled, even her breath was chaotic.
She thought of this being the old estate’s kitchen.
Thinking of the possibility of someone coming in at any moment made her uncontrollably tense.
She raised her hand to push against his chest, not wanting him to come closer, "Isn’t that your wedding house? Ms. Warner said I’m not suitable to live there!"
Elias smirked as he wiped away the dessert crumbs from her lips, speaking in a cold voice, "Oh! Is it this nightgown?"
His gaze didn’t move downward, yet his look at her was so deep.
Annelise instantly understood.
He was referring to that night she deliberately tried to tempt him over the video call.
"What are you doing!"
She tried to escape, yet he pinned her wrists, trapping her in his arms, "Knowing you shouldn’t, yet dressing like this to call me—what do you mean by it?"
Annelise’s breathing was trembling; she dared not meet his gaze.
She looked up, probing, "Are you unhappy? Why are you unhappy?"
He replied straightforwardly, "Because of you!"
Annelise felt a sour ache in her heart, so it’s because seeing her makes him unhappy? She made a move as if to jump down from the glass counter.
But the man pulled her back into his arms again, pressing against her from behind.
His whole body pressed against her from behind.
The cold made her tremble uncontrollably, the man’s large hand encircled her slender waist, and the other began tearing at her nightgown. He yanked down one of her shoulder straps from behind.
He lowered his eyes and bit into the skin of her neck with savage lips and teeth.
"Are you crazy? This is the kitchen; people could come in at any moment!"
Annelise’s voice was choked with sobs, he was so cold, the buttons of his captain’s uniform pressed against her back.
The bumps made her whole body tingle, her legs almost gave out.
Elias flipped her around, hoisted her legs up over his shoulders, placing her in an embarrassing position.
The shoulder strap slipped, the hem gathered, the dark clasp on her underwear had opened though his hand hadn’t touched her, always calmly supporting himself beside her.
Yet her nightgown could hardly stay up anymore.
It could fall at any moment.
"Tell me, what do you see in Chase Perry?!"
This question had been stuck in his heart for five years!
Especially in Breslin, thinking Chase might have had a child with another woman five years ago, thinking of the injuries she suffered for Chase over the years—this question just lodged deeper in his chest!
Annelise’s hands frantically propped behind her, afraid to make a sound, yet her soft body curved into a beautiful arc!
"Bang," a sharp noise rang out.
Glass shards scattered.
Annelise accidentally knocked over a water cup onto the floor.
Footsteps sounded from outside.
Annelise was so frightened her blood seemed to freeze.
"Who’s in the kitchen?"
Renee Perry’s voice came.
Mama Carter followed behind.
"Who’s in the kitchen? Why is there such a loud noise coming from the kitchen? Mama Carter, go and see!"
Renee stood at the entrance, signaling Mama Carter to go in and take a look.
Mama Carter headed inside, turning on the dim lights.
"Miss Winter, are you... are you alright!"
Only to see Annelise squatting on the floor, picking up the glass shards.
Elias Warner stood beside Annelise, staring at her picking up the shards.
"Hiss," Annelise’s hand twitched, blood streaming down her fingers.
"Miss Annelise, you’re hurt!"
Mama Carter alerted, promptly went for disinfectant.
Elias wanted to bow down to tend to Annelise’s wounded hand but was held back by Renee’s presence.
He just watched quietly as Annelise’s fingertips bleeding constantly.
Renee observed Elias’s expression, unable to discern any clues.
Her eyes glances aside.
This woman truly is a seductress, she clearly remembered, Elias’s flight mission was supposed to complete two days later, how had plans changed suddenly for him to return so quickly.
Just moments ago, upon seeing Annelise injured, he was so eager to step forward and help her.
But because her own mother was present, he refrained.
"Elias, why didn’t you inform us of your early return? We’d have prepared. Haven’t you eaten today? Why are you in the kitchen?"
Elias’s gaze swept indifferently across, "Is it you who let her stay in the old estate?"
"Yes Elias, I’m telling you, letting Annelise stay in your wedding house isn’t right. It’s inappropriate and damages both your reputations!"
"It’s none of your business!"
Renee held back her temper, glancing at Annelise standing aside.
"Elias, come here!"
Renee left the kitchen, Elias followed her into the study.
Renee sat down, gesturing for Elias to do the same.
"Elias, I let her move back to the old estate for her safety as well. As Warner Family’s nominally adopted daughter, she will live in the old estate until she finds someone suitable to marry and leaves from there."
Renee’s implication was clear.
She was telling Elias that Annelise would never be his in this lifetime.
Elias was about to say something but was interrupted by Renee again, "Before she marries out or you marry, keep your distance and don’t stay at the old estate."
"No, I won’t leave the estate tonight. If you’re worried, let Annelise leave!"
Elias showed no intention of backing down.
"Elias, I’m your mother! I won’t harm you! Haven’t you been hurt enough five years ago? If it wasn’t for your uncle calling, how long would you keep it from me? In Breslin, for her, you even beat up Chase Perry! What exactly are you doing? Must you ruin yourself for her to feel satisfied!"
Elias merely gave a cold, indifferent smile, "Oh, suddenly regret not beating him to death!"
"Elias!! Mom knows, years ago, Chase and Annelise’s affair hurt your heart, but it’s been so many years now; what should be given up should be let go!!"
Renee was both angry at her son and heartbroken, "You’re a man with a fiancée now, can you care a bit more about those around you? Since you’re back, tomorrow your fiancée is being discharged, I’ll throw a party to introduce her as Warner Family’s future daughter-in-law! Also, announce your engagement. It’s about time Annelise met her future sister-in-law."
Elias stood up, his expression colder than it had been earlier, "You can interfere if you want, then you handle this marriage! Don’t include me, I won’t attend."
Finished speaking, Elias left the study with a steely expression.
Leaving Renee alone, holding back anger, nearly having a heart attack.
