Landing on Her Heart: Mr. Warner, Let's Get Back Together!
Chapter 82: Since Their Reunion, She Has Never Been This Forward
CHAPTER 82: CHAPTER 82: SINCE THEIR REUNION, SHE HAS NEVER BEEN THIS FORWARD
Lucas Lowell never expected to encounter Annelise Winter here.
His Adam’s apple moved slightly, and the emotions he once felt facing Annelise rushed over him again like a tidal wave.
Back in school, he had pursued Annelise, but at that time, she was the proud and beautiful heiress of the Winter Family, with Elias Warner often by her side.
He had no chance.
Now things are different. Today, he heard from his sister that the girlfriend she wanted to introduce to him was Annelise. He even began to fantasize about being with her.
At this moment, Elias Warner had just returned to the family’s old house after a day of flying.
But he didn’t find her there.
In her bedroom, he found a box containing a dress.
Elias’s face darkened, and he called for Mama Carter, "Where did she go?"
"Young Master, Miss Winter and the Madam went to the banquet. Why are you still at home? Isn’t the banquet about to start?"
Inside, Elias was filled with anger and ignored Mama Carter’s words.
The purpose of his mother’s banquet was obvious.
He originally didn’t want to attend.
But Annelise was so disobedient; he told her not to go, yet she insisted on attending the banquet!
Did she so desperately want to attend the banquet as the Warner Family’s goddaughter?
After a moment of silence, Elias went downstairs, got into the car, and instructed Zane to head to the banquet hall.
When Elias arrived at the main hall of the banquet, he caused quite a stir.
Dressed in a pure black suit, he exuded understated luxury and elegance.
But Annelise didn’t notice him.
She was deeply engaged in conversation with Lucas.
They were talking about school.
Those days were, for Annelise, the happiest times of her life.
Back then, time passed slowly, and the naive crush on someone was deeply nostalgic.
Seeing Annelise and Lucas chatting ignited an inexplicable anger within Elias.
She was actually smiling!
She hadn’t smiled for a long time.
But her smile wasn’t directed at him; it was for another man.
Elias clenched his fists and didn’t approach them directly. Instead, he turned and went to the lounge upstairs.
On the entire second floor, an arc-shaped railing surrounded the corridor, with no less than twenty guest rooms.
Each guest room was furnished to the highest standard.
Elias went into a guest room, loosened his tie, took a deep breath, and after calming his emotions, he sent Annelise a text message.
"Second floor, Room 208! Come here!"
Annelise’s phone rang.
She paused her conversation with Lucas and looked down at her phone.
Sylvia Lowell, standing beside Lucas, glanced at Annelise’s phone warily.
She saw the familiar phone number and the message content.
Annelise responded absentmindedly, gripping her phone. She knew attending the banquet would upset Elias.
But she didn’t come to the banquet voluntarily.
She was forced by Renee Perry.
Now, she wanted to stay away from Elias. With so many people here, if discovered, it could damage Elias’s reputation and make Renee think she was seducing Elias again.
She didn’t want to cause trouble, especially today when Renee came prepared. She needed to be vigilant.
From the second-floor railing, Elias watched Annelise ignore his message and continue talking to Lucas.
His long fingers tapped on the phone screen, coldly typing:
"Five minutes, deal with the consequences if you don’t come within five minutes!"
Annelise’s face turned pale.
Fearing Elias might cause trouble.
She decided to clear things up with him.
Annelise lifted her gaze, filled with concern, and glanced at Lucas, who was enjoying their chat, "Senior, I have some matters to attend to. You and Sylvia wait here. I’ll be right back!"
Sylvia tugged on Annelise’s dress, "Annelise, is everything okay? Is the Warner Family giving you a hard time? If so, just say it, my brother and I will help you!"
Sylvia acted very righteously.
"No worries, don’t worry, I can handle it!" Annelise smiled and nodded, heading upstairs.
Sylvia said, "I need to use the restroom too."
Watching Annelise leave Lucas and head upstairs, Elias retreated two steps and returned to the room.
He sat cross-legged on the leather sofa, leisurely unbuttoning his suit.
Casually, he picked up a magazine from the table, lowered his gaze, and looked absent-mindedly.
His ears were quietly listening for any movement at the door.
Finally, there was a "click!"
The door opened, and Elias didn’t look up, his eyes still on the magazine in his hand.
The sound of high heels approached him slowly, and a dress fell to the floor, leaving only a white slip dress.
The scent belonging to Annelise, the familiar fragrance of her body wash, enveloped him.
The next second, a woman directly wrapped her arms around Elias’s neck.
Originally with his head lowered, Elias immediately closed his eyes and grabbed the woman’s hand.
The woman sat on Elias’s lap, naturally.
With a rolling Adam’s apple and a tight breath, Elias’s voice was hoarse, "Finally willing to be obedient?"
Since their reunion, she had never been so proactive.
Without saying a word, the woman directly pulled down her white strap.
Elias lowered his head, inhaling her fragrance, feeling the weight on him and the curve in his palm, barely noticeable, he furrowed his brow.
At this moment, the room door was half-open, and Annelise was standing at Elias’s door, witnessing everything.
The woman inside, with her back to her, wearing a white dress, was sitting on his lap.
This strongly impactful, ambiguous scene made her eyes instantly well up with tears.
Her heart felt like it had taken a heavy blow!
So, he called her over to watch him and his fiancée entangle with each other?
He achieved his goal, she had to admit.
With a bitter throat, Annelise couldn’t stay a minute longer and turned to leave.
Though she had seen women’s clothes scattered in the villa before, witnessing it now was even more painful.
She ran to a corner of the corridor in one breath, holding onto the railing, looking up and breathing deeply, trying to stop the tears from falling.
Unexpectedly, Renee Perry’s voice sounded from behind at this moment.
"Annelise, what are you doing?"
Annelise wiped her tears, held her breath, and turned back.
Their eyes met.
