CHAPTER 87: CHAPTER 87: MOUTH-TO-MOUTH MEDICINE FEEDING

Ethan Lawson instructed the female doctor to give Annelise Winter an IV drip.

Despite having been soaked in cold water for so long, Annelise still felt lightheaded and the heat in her body hadn’t completely subsided.

But she felt much better now, no longer compelled to uncontrollably push Elias Warner.

Ethan Lawson cautioned, glancing again at Elias’s legs.

"If you dare to talk rubbish again, I’ll tell everyone the stupid things you did as a child..."

"Alright, alright, I won’t dare!"

Ethan Lawson pulled out a few pills from his travel bag.

"Give these to her, she might have a fever!"

Only then did Elias Warner’s expression improve a bit, as he reached out to take the pills from Ethan, choosing to administer them himself and not letting Ethan touch Annelise at all.

"Alright, I’ll head out now. Don’t worry, she’s fine. It’s normal for her to have a fever at this time!"

He turned to get a cup of warm water, lifted Annelise’s neck, and fed her the medicine.

He closed his eyes, and the veins spread instantly on his lean arm hanging by his side.

After setting everything up in Annelise’s room, Elias didn’t stay by her side; he went alone to the bathroom.

For a long time, he let the cold water wash over his body.

Annelise was woken by the sunlight from outside the window.

When she opened her eyes, it was already bright outside.

She rubbed her slightly aching head, still vaguely remembering last night’s events, the scene of her pleading with Elias Warner for him.

Shame and embarrassment left her pale.

She scanned every corner of the room, instinctively searching for Elias Warner’s presence.

The room was empty.

She remembered he seemed to have come back last night.

Chloe Joyce noticed Annelise, focusing on her dark circles and weary expression, and asked with concern, "Annelise, what’s happened to you recently? You don’t look well, like you have no energy!"

"It’s nothing, I just haven’t been resting well lately, but thank you for your concern!"

Annelise tried her best to smile.

"As long as you’re okay. By the way, Captain Warner and his crew are coming in for their routine physicals later. That’s usually your responsibility; are you up for it?"

Chloe Joyce intended to set Annelise and Captain Warner up, but seeing Annelise wasn’t interested in Elias Warner and didn’t look well, she offered to stand in for her.

"No problem, don’t worry!" Annelise seemed unfazed upon hearing Elias Warner would be coming in for his physical.

Seeing that Elias’s physical didn’t seem to affect Annelise at all, Chloe Joyce was relieved.

Annelise took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

Normally, she would avoid Elias during his routine physicals, but thinking about how people at The Airline kept discussing her and Elias Warner’s relationship, she realized facing it head-on was the only way to stop their gossip.

To prove that she wasn’t desperately trying to cling to Elias Warner, not even pursuing him all the way to Breslin.

"Let me know if you need anything!"

After Chloe Joyce finished her advice, she left.

In full pilot uniform, Elias Warner came in for his pre-flight health check.

The crowd gazed at him with admiration, something Elias was already used to.

His upbringing and background never made him care much about others’ chatter.

But when it came to him and Annelise, he couldn’t remain indifferent.

"Have you heard? Last night, at the Warner Family’s banquet, it was supposed to be Captain Warner and his fiancée presenting, but our airline doctor Miss Annelise crashed the party and disrupted Captain Warner’s engagement ceremony!"

"No way! Didn’t she adamantly claim in the restaurant she had nothing to do with Captain Warner?"

"What do you know? She wouldn’t admit it; it’s too embarrassing. Captain Warner doesn’t even consider her!"

"I agree, if I were Captain Warner, I’d expose her too. Thankfully, our Captain Warner is not only handsome but also kind enough not to bother with her."

"Exactly, otherwise, Annelise would’ve long been out of the Aviation Medical Center!"

Hearing the chatter, Elias’s eyes suddenly grew cold and stern.

He walked with a cold face to Annelise’s office door.

"Medical exam!"

"Alright!"

Annelise showed no emotion on her face, calm and composed, not even glancing up at him, treating him like an ordinary colleague.

During any measurement, Annelise kept her distance from Elias Warner.

To avoid misunderstanding, causing him to dislike her even more.

Elias’s mind kept replaying the chatter he’d overheard before coming in.

Annelise had said in the restaurant that she didn’t care about Captain Warner at all.

She denied any relationship with him, denied having ever liked him too.

Elias’s heart trembled, and he noticed how she deliberately kept her distance while conducting any checks.

It seemed the rumors were true.

Could she actually hate him this much?

Then, about last night, when she was pleading with him?
