Nancy screamed, “It’s blood! She’s having a miscarriage.”

Julian’s heart clenched. Lowering his head, he saw blood staining Willow’s mourning clothes, giving rise to a frightening sight.

He stepped forward, intending to carry her in his arms. “Willow, I’m going to take you to the hospital.”

However, she wouldn’t have any of it. She didn’t want him anymore. She rejected his very presence.

Taking a step back, her face turned pale. “Don’te closer. Julian, it doesn’t matter if the baby is dead or alive. It has nothing to do with you!”

Willow didn’t stop retreating until Timothy caught her and steadied her.

Her feet were trembling uncontrobly, and blood was flowing down her thighs relentlessly. However, she insisted on walking on her own as she slowly left the ce and got away from Julian.

Willow held onto the frame of the door underneath the bright light. Her waist ached so much that she couldn’t stand upright.

It wasn’t as if she didn’t love her unborn baby, but she had just lost Grace, who had shown her nothing but kindness and love.

Willow simply couldn’t take too many things into consideration. At this moment, she was left with nothing but rage and despair.

The night darkened. The vivid image of the streak of blood on her legs had shattered Julian’s heart.

Willow was sent to the emergency room. Timothy had to carry her in his arms as he took her there. At that moment, she had already lost consciousness. She was hurt and bruised all over, and her palm was injured beyond recognition.

The doctor said that it was incredible for a pregnantdy to have held on this far.

Timothy was aware of Willow’s intentions. While he waited for her outside, he confirmed the case’s development and made sure that Alicia couldn’t get out of the country for the time being. Once all that was done, he continued to wait.

Later, scattered footsteps could be heard from the end of the hallway. It was Julian.

    “Hi, Timothy,” he said softly.

A mix of emotions washed over Julian. In fact, he should’ve made his way to Grace’s funeral and paid his respects. However, he couldn’t possibly leave Willow, given the state she was in. He was worried sick about her.

Timothy didn’t say anything. He remained standing in the quiet hallway as he pulled out a cigarette and smoked it. He had always been calm, but his eyebrows were knitted tightly now.

A breeze swept through, scattering the blue smoke.

Julian stood at the door of the operating room and stared at the light above it. He was so anxious that he couldn’t even sit. His mind kept reying the moment when blood flowed down Willow’s legs.

Eventually, Timothy finally broke the silence and said, “Willow has suffered too much. I don’t think they’ll be able to keep the baby.”

His fingers trembled. Suppressing his emotions, he recounted the tragedy at the southern suburbs in front of Julian. Then, he said, “Madam Harper died a horrible death because she wanted to save Willow.

“What are the odds, Julian? Although the culprit has yet to be found, the whole thing is not what it seemed. The vi’s front and back gates were locked. This is definitely not a freak ident.”

Julian responded in a hoarse voice, “I’m aware of that. I’ll look into it.”

Timothy stared at him intensely. “What if your childhood friend has something to do with it? How will you handle it then?”

Julian responded softly, “If Alicia did this, I will give Willow an exnation.”

Timothy leaned on the wall and fell silent for a brief moment. Then, he said, “No matter what the truth is, it’s over between you

    and Willow.”

As a matter of fact, Julian knew deep down that she would never forgive him for this. It didn’t matter if Alicia was the one who did it.

He waited in front of the operating room door and kept his head raised as he stared at the light above it.

Half an hourter, Liam and Mnie got the news and hurried over. The moment Liam saw Julian, he immediately shouted, ” You jerk!”

Mnie also said with misty eyes, “You were supposed to have a baby, Julian. This wouldn’t have happened if you hadn’t made a detour and had gone straight to the southern suburbs instead.

“I know that Alicia is important to you, but she’s nothingpared to your baby!”

    s. No amount of reprimands would fix the hot mess they were in now.

All Julian wanted at that moment was for God to show him some mercy. He was willing to pay any price as long as it meant his baby was safe.

The night darkened. Timothy received several phone calls throughout the night, and they were all from Heather. They discussed Grace’s funeral and talked about Willow’s situation.

She felt heartbroken over what happened to Willow, but she had to stay by Grace’s side. The old woman had suffered a horrible death. She shouldn’t be left alone right now.

Laura kept an open mind. Even though it was the middle of the night, she was willing to hold a funeral at the Chapman residence.

Heather wore mourning clothes and kept praying to the heavens. She even kneeled in front of Grace’s casket and cried her eyes

    out.

The night was as dark as it was long.

Back in the hospital, the operating room light finally turned off at 2:30 am. The doctor walked out and shook his head at Timothy.

Julian’s face immediately turned pale. Was Landon lost to him?

It was true. He and Willow had lost the baby. Just this afternoon, he was thrilled that he had a son and even looked at the shoes Grace made for Landon.

In the blink of an eye, they had lost both Grace and Landon. Julian’s expression had never been this ashen in his entire life.

At the next moment, the operating room door swung open, and Willow was wheeled out on a hospital bed. Her face was devoid of color, and her eyes were shut tightly.

She seemed to know that Julian was here. When they wheeled past him, she asked the nurses to stop.

The night was eerie and unsettling.

Willow slowly opened her eyes, which looked as lifeless as a corpses. Staring at himi, /ishe said softly, “I’ve lost the baby.

“Julian, without the baby, there’s nothing that connects us anymore.”
