Julian stood there. His face was devoid of emotion. It was impossible to tell what was going through his head.

While Julian was outside, Catherine’s parents had rushed over to the vi. Nancy screamed when she saw how the house was in a
“What on earth happened here? Who was it that had the audacity to do this to the Neb Group’s CEO’s house?”
Catherine held one hand over her cheek. “It was Willow.”
Nancy’s anger diminished almost instantly. However, she snickered a few secondster. “She won’t be able to act haughtily like
this for long. We can do pretty much anything we want to an orphan like her once Julian divorces her.”
Charlie felt his conscience telling him this was not right. He furrowed his brows. “Don’t say that. She’s Julian’swfully wedded
wife, after all.”
Nancy was irked. “Lawfully wedded wife? If you ask me, the two of them are just pretending to be a couple. If it weren’t for what
happened back then…”
Charlie called out to Nancy and stopped her from saying more.
Nancy ordered a maid to fetch her some ice. Thenb, /bshe helped apply a cold press to Catherine’s swollen cheek.
“Look what she’s done to Catherine! Are you not going to do something about it? Aren’t you acquainted with Aurelia Group’s Mrs.
Chapman? You should talk to her. If Mr. Chapman agrees to work with Neb because of Catherine, it’ll help Catherine solidify
her position in the Ziegler family.”
Catherine’s eyes were bright with tears. “Dad, say something!”
Charlie had an awkward expression on his face.
Nancy cast him a sidelong nce. She remarked scornfully, “You’re still not over her, aren’t you? She’s already married to
another man.” (b1 /b
Charlie snapped, “What nonsense are you going on about?”
Truthfully, he could not help but feel a bit guilty. At night, Charlie would often dream of his past lover and the child they’d had in his sleep. The child went missing when she was only five, and they still had not found her even after years of searching.
Charlie had only learned of this two years ago, and he dared not tell Nancy what happened.
He went over to ba /bcorner to have a cigarette. The smoke from his cigarette curled upward, and the corners of Charlie’s eyes were
red.
Nancy did not notice the unusual changes in her husband’s emotions. She was still nagging. “I don’t care what happened between
the two of you in the past. Anyhow, you need to consider what’s best for Catherine’s future.”
Charlie drew on his cigarette hard and long.
He wanted to meet that person again and ask if there were any new updates on their daughter’s whereabouts.

In the hospital’s VIP ward, Willow sat next to the bed while she peeled an apple. Grace was staring at her face intently.
Willow put her palm lightly against her own cheek. She got it treated by a doctor to help reduce the swelling beforeing here.
Willow asked, “Grandma, what are you looking at?”
Grace asked, “Is Julian good to you?”
Willow paused for a split second. “Julian has been very good to me.”
However, Grace was very keen and perceptive. After giving it some serious thought, she came to a painful but much–needed
decision…
“If you’re unhappy with your marriage, you should get a divorce. For ordinary people like us, stepping into the world of the rich and powerful will alwayse with many hurdles.
“In the past, I couldn’t say much since you had feelings for Julian. However, I can see that those feelings are gradually fading
away now. You two might as well just break up.”
“Grandma…” Willow said in a choked voice. She did not expect Grace would be so open–minded about it.
The sound of someone knocking on the door could be heard just then.
Willow looked in the direction of the noise and saw Julian standing by the door. He was staring at her with those dark eyes which
held an unreadable look.
It appeared Julian had been standing there for quite some time. He probably heard the entire conversation just now. Nevertheless,
Willow could not be bothered with it.
Julian slowly walked into the room and ced a fruit basket on the coffee table. Then, he sat down beside Grace and chatted with her. With his experience socializing with those in the elite circle, Julian had no trouble holding a pleasant conversation with an
olddy.
Beside them, Willow remained expressionless.
During their four years of marriage, Julian had rarely joined her in visiting Grace. It was already a clear indication of whether Julian truly cared about her. Still, Willow had put up with that for four years. She could not help but feel that she had iting.
Julian’s voice rang in her ear at that moment. “What are you thinking so deeply about?”
