One weekter, Willow secured the unit for her business.
She signed a contract for five years since the price and location of the unit were ideal. She wrote a check and passed it to the
With the economy having slowed down in recent years, thendlord was very pleased with the fact that Willow wanted to sign a
contract for five years.
Thendlord left shortly afterward since he had other arrangements. On the other hand, Willow remained seated as she tried to
finish her coffee. It was a habit she had had for a long time.
Just then, she heard a soft female voice. “Willow!”
Willow paused for a split second.
It was Natalie, Jeffrey’s younger sister. 1
Natalie was still a college student. She and Willow were not exactly close. However, she was being very friendly to her that day.
Natalie hurried over and clung to Willow’s arm while speaking to her enthusiastically.
Even someone who was usually aloof and distant like Willow liked how bubbly and lovely the youngdy was. Willow beckoned a
waiter over and ordered two desserts for Natalie.
A whileter, the waiter served the dessert to the table.
Natalie was clearly in bliss as she ate the dessert. She finally remembered her initial purpose after finishing her serving. “It’s my
brother’s birthday tomorrow. We’re having a party. You should join us!”
“It’s Jeffrey’s birthday tomorrow?” Willow pondered.
Without much hesitation, she declined the invite politely. “I probably won’t be able to make it.”
Natalie had a knowing look on her face. “Don’t worry! Julian won’t be there. He’s never attended these small, insignificant
parties… I can bet it on my brother’s life!”
Willow felt that Jeffrey would need to have at least nine lives for Natalie to make bets like this.
After giving it some thought, Willow epted Natalie’s invitation eventually. She owed Jeffrey a few favors, after all.

On her way home, Willow stopped by the mall to get Jeffrey a gift.
After considering the rtionship between her and Jeffrey, she decided to get him a gold pen. It was a gift that was proper for the
asion and would not look too shabby.

She spent some time browsing and eventually picked a pen with a price of 126 thousand dors. Once she had settled the payment using her credit card, the saleswoman tried to promote other items as well.
“You must be picking out birthday gifts for your husband, madam. We also have an exquisite selection ofpel pins and cufflinks that are of the finest quality in the market. Would you like to take a look at them?”
Willow wanted to exin that she did not need them. However, the saleswoman had brought over a silver tray.
Willow did not want to yell at the saleswoman since thetter was just doing her job. She picked up one of the items on the tray to have a closer look.
During her four years of being married to Julian, Willow had handled and selected all of his clothes and essories. Gradually, she developed a good taste for fine, luxurious items.
She smiled slightly. “Thispel pin looks pretty nice.”
The saleswoman keptplimenting Willow about how she had excellent taste, hoping that she would make the purchase.
Truthfully, spending 180 thousand dors on a gift was not that big of a deal to Willow. Yet, she stared at the pin for a long while. Eventually, she muttered, “It’s a shame since I have no one to give it to now.”
Meanwhile, Julian stood quietly by an elevator.
Neb Group had just obtained this mall through acquisition a week ago. Julian came for an inspection today, and he was not expecting to see Willow there.
It seemed like Willow was picking out apel pin for him.
Julian thought about how she must still have feelings for him since she was willing to buy him gifts. 1
He also recalled their times together. To be fair, their marriage had not been an entirely bad experience for Julian. Other than the
fact that Willow was a bit more reserved in bed, Julian had nothing toin about their marital rtionship.
Moreover, Willow looked a lot more frail and delicate these days. Julian kept getting the urge to pull her into his arms and offer
her sce with his gentle caresses. He longed for her now.
Standing beside him, Esther reminded Julian when she noticed he was getting distracted. “Mr. Ziegler, Mr. Ludwig is giving a
report of his work.”
Julian finally turned his gaze away from Willow. He walked away with a group of men trailing behind him.
As he treaded awayb, /bJulian thought about how there was no way their four–year–long marital rtionship woulde to an end.
It was only a matter of time before they reconciled…
