leaving you bereft

Dexter froze on the spot.
Eleanor Sutton? That name felt like a relic from a distant past.
He hadn’t seen her since getting out of prison, nor had he asked about where she was. Perhaps, he had never truly loved her.
Julian’s expression disappeared as he watched his cousin in silence.
“The position of vice CEO in Yarrowmere was something I promised her. As for you, if you don’t want to stay in Yarrowmere, I can arrange for someone else to take over.
“You can return to Brindley and live your previous life of debauchery. But I’m telling you, Eleanor gave birth to your daughter. You should at least bring her to Grandpa’s grave.”
As soon as Julian said that, Dexter red at him. He knew his cousin better than anyone. Ever since his release from prison, Julian hadn’t said a thing.
Now, he had suddenly decided to do this? Either Julian thought Dexter was in the way, or he’d noticed something.
Grinding his pearly white teeth, Dexter growled, “Julian, you’re as shameless as ever!”
Julian smiled at him brightly. “Dexter, if you were any more ambitious, I wouldn’t have to work his h would I?”
With that, Dexter left, booking the earliest flight out to Yarrowmere.
Julian leaned back against the chair, rubbing his temples with his fingers, and he let out a sigh. It wasn’t an easy task to uphold the Ziegler name. And Dexter was really hopeless.
By lunchtime, Julian entered the lounge. Willow had already changed back into her clothes. She stood before the floor-to-ceiling windows, her figure looking straight and slender.
For a moment, Julian felt like he’d stepped into another time, as if all the things hadn’t happened, and that Willow was still the vice CEO of Neb Group.
He couldn’t help but walk over to hug her gently from behind. He murmured affectionately, “Just now, Dexter said I was publicly disying affection in broad daylight.
“But Willow, after all these years of marriage, we’ve never been intimate during the day.”
Willow replied coldly, “If that’s what you want, you can find another woman. I won’t stop you.”
Julian felt a little disappointed. He truly loved her, so he wouldn’t treat her badly just because he couldn’t be sexually satisfied.
He’d still treat her gently and take care of her and the children. When Willow resisted, he’d say it was for the children’s sake, that even if they were just temporary, they had to y the part well.
Willow felt like he was born to be an actor.
At Radiance Manor, the autumn sun was setting, painting the courtyard with a fiery shade of red.
On the lush greenwn, Landon and Gabrie were kicking a ball around while Snowy ran circles around them. Snowy was so thrilled that its tail wagged rapidly
Then, it darted back toward its mother, gazing up with eyes filled with affection.
Willow sat nearby and watched the children.
Jesse brought her a shawl and said gently, “Madam Mnie said that you’re still weak, so it’s important to keep yourself warm.”
Willow wrapped the shawl around herself. She checked the time and smiled faintly. “Where’s Mr. Ziegler? Is he in the study?”
Jesse smiled and replied, “He’s cooking spaghetti for the kids. Landon loves it, so whenever Mr. Ziegler has time, he always cooks for him. He really adores the kids
Willow’s heart stirred. In her memory, Julian had never lifted a finger in the kitchen.
Moreover, was it convenient for him to cook?
As the sky slowly turned dark, Willow made her way to the kitchen. As she got closer, she saw the kitchen lights, as well as the sound of the knife chopping up vegetables…
