Esther was shocked. How was that a little gesture?

In the evening, at Serenity Manor, Jeffrey was taking care of Rowena when he received a call from his assistant, informing him that apany had purchased that 30% stake without even negotiating the price.

The assistant sounded amazed. “Thatpany must be seriously wealthy. They didn’t even blink, spending over four billion dors.”

Jeffrey held his phone, already guessing who was behind it. Besides Julian, there weren’t many people in Brindley with that kind of wealth. He could also guess why Julian had bought it. It was nothing more than settling an old debt.

The assistant continued, saying that the check would be delivered the next day. Jeffrey simply nodded.

After hanging up the call, Rosabelle returned home. She was wearing a white suit, clearly exhausted from the day. She took off her heels the moment she stepped into the entryway and asked, “Are you on the phone? How’s Rowie today?”

Jeffrey set his phone down and sat beside Rowena, helping her build with toy blocks. Rowena kept her head down, sulking and pretending not to see her mother.

Rosabelle walked over and gently stroked Rowena’s head. “Are you mad at Mommy?”

    Rowena replied softly, “No.”

Rowena smiled gently. “Then can Mommy y with you?”

Jeffrey, who was sitting beside, suddenly said softly, “Rosabelle, I sold my shares in Gibson Legal Group. n to take Rowena around the world.”

“What?” Rosabelle was stunned. She looked at her and couldn’t believe what she’d just heard. Did he just sell his stake and say he wanted to travel the world with their daughter?

She lowered her voice. “Why didn’t you talk to me about this first?”

Jeffrey replied, “This is me talking to you. Rosabelle, we can always rebuild our careers, but we only have Rowena. I asked my assistant to book three tickets to Auralia.. Think about it. Rowie needs both of her parents.”

    Three tickets…

Rosabelle looked at Rowena. Perhaps she’d spent too little time with her, so she wasn’t as close to her as she was to Jeffrey. Even though Rowena clearly wanted to, she just stared at Rosabelle, too stubborn to speak her mind.

Rosabelle’s heart ached. She knelt down and gently wrapped her arms around Rowena, resting her cheek against Rowena’s soft face.

The night deepened. After a bout of passion, Jeffrey leaned against the headboard, smoking in silence and lost in thought.

After a while, he nced down at his wife. Her slender figure was wrapped in the sheets, turned away from him. He couldn’t tell what she was thinking.

Jeffrey reached out and nudged her gently. “What do you think?”

Rosabelle’s voice was a little hoarse. “I need to think about it. Jeffrey, family is important to me, but so is my career. You don’t understand.

“Ever since I stepped into the workce, I feltplete I was no longer that girl who used to wait for you toe home every day.”

Jeffrey didn’t respond, continuing to smoke silently. After he finished the cigarette, he stubbed it out, went into the bathroom, and washed away the sweat from before.

Rosabelle knew he was upset. She slipped out of bed and entered the bathroom quietly. From behind, she wrapped her arms around him. “Are you mad?”.

Jeffrey was silent at first. Then, her embrace tightened. Finally, he couldn’t take it anymore. He pressed her wall against the warm wall and fixed his deep gaze on her.

“Rosabelle, you keep doubting whether I love you. But let me ask you. Do you still love me?

“Rosabelle, what do you love more? Your career, your family, or your husband? Do you even know yourself?”
