Rosabelle was stunned. She’d never thought of this question before. Ever since she’d married Jeffrey, loving him was like an instinct. Her life revolved around him, but she had never thought about whether she still loved him!

For a whole week, Rosabelle couldn’t stop thinking about whether she should resign and go abroad with

    them.

On Friday afternoon, at 2:00 pm, Rosabelle wore an elegant white dress to a business luncheon at a hotel. She was standing beside her boss, Harvey Jones, socializing with clients.

She stole a nce at her phone, noticing a message from Jeffrey. “Rowie and I are waiting for you at the airport.”

Rosabelle was momentarily lost in thought. Harvey noticed and asked with a smile, “Something urgent?”

    Rosabelle shook her head.

Harvey nodded and said, “The project is almost finalized. Next week, at our morning meeting, I’ll be rmending you as the deputy project director. Keep it up, Rosabelle. You have a bright future ahead of

    you.”

She clinked her ss of champagne with his gently. Harvey admired Rosabelle. She was beautiful, young, and talented. It was a pity that she had married young.

News of her pending promotion had already been known among her colleagues. They quickly came to congratte her one after another.

That was probably the highlight of her career. She thought she’d be happy, but as she saw her reflection the floor-to-ceiling windows, she froze for a moment.

Was this her choice? To choose her career, giving up going abroad with Jeffrey, which could cost her the marriage?

Suddenly, a familiar silhouette appeared in the reflection. It was Julian.

Rosabelle was surprised. She turned around immediately to look at him. “Julian?”

He was dressed in formal attire. He looked around the crowd before his gaze returned to Rosabelle. He said softly, “I was just passing by! Rosabelle, Jeffrey should be at the airport by now. Are you choosing to stay?”

If she left the corporate world now, it would be nearly impossible for her to climb back to this position in the future.

Julian smiled faintly, as if he were looking at Willow of the past.

“Rosabelle, do you know what I regret the most? It’s bringing Willow into the business world. She could’ve been an artist, but she became a businessperson like me.

“Even though she was sessful, I think she regrets it deep down. If I could go back in time, I’d rather she be free and do whatever she wanted!

“Rosabelle, think carefully about your dreams. What do you really want?”

Rosabelle stood frozen. Her dream was to be a violinist. Even though she wasn’t gifted, she could at

    least be a teacher.

Teaching children how to y the violin was her dream. She loved kids. But that drearn was washed away by her love for Jeffrey.

She’d forgotten the reason she loved him, and the core of loving someone should begin with loving herself She had changed into someone else entirely, and that version of her wasn’t someone Jeffrey liked

A single tear slid down her cheek. She wiped it away and looked at Julian with a bittersweet smile. She handed her ss to a passing server, then grabbed the fem of her dress and ran toward the exit of the banquet hall.

Right at the door, she bumped into Harvey. He smiled. Rosabelle, let me introduce you to a few valuable contacts.”

Rosabelle bowed slightly. “I’m sorry, Mr. Jones. I’m resigning.”

    Harvey was dumbfounded. 1

Rosabelle felt a lightness she had never experienced before. She lifted her dress and continued running downstairs. At the entrance, a car that Julian had prepared for her was already waiting.

Julian stood by the window, watching Rosabelle climb into the vehicle. His eyes were misty as he let out a self-deprecating chuckle. Perhaps he was getting old and sentimental, doing a bit of good where he could. But Rosabelle didn’t make it in time. There was a traffic jam on the highway. By the time she arrived at the airport, the boarding time had passed.

With tears in her eyes, she called Julian. He arranged a private jet for her, but unexpectedly, Jeffrey had changed his route. He had taken Rowena to Panorma instead. He had thought Rosabelle had chosen career over family.

They missed each other. The next time they met was a whole yearter.

In the evening, the golden sunset painted the clouds in a warm glow.

Julian stood in the courtyard of the Ziegler residence, answering a call from Rosabelle. She was crying really

    hard.

In a rare moment, Julian patiently listened to her sob through the phone. Once she was done, he said, “Wait for him. Jeffrey wille back with Rowena. Besides, you’re both legally married. What are you afraid of?”

Rosabelle choked with sobs. “But I miss Rowie.”

That was something Julian couldn’t help her with. As he was speaking, the sound of a car pulling into the courtyard echoed through. It was Willow, returning with the two children.

As soon as the car came to a stop, Landon and Gabrie jumped out and ran toward Julian.

Julian ended the call with Rosabelle and picked up the kids one by one. Landon had been eating well, so his cheeks were rounder. He also looked genuinely happier these days.

As for Gabrie, she had be more independent. Mnie loved taking care of her.

Willow got out of the car, tucking her long, ck hair behind her ears. She said, “Let’s light a candle for Grandpa.”

Today was Dominic’s birthday. Julian and Willow had brought the children back specifically for this.

Just as they were! talking, a Range Rover entered the courtyard. It was Dexter’s car. However, he was alone in the car.

Willow was aware of the situation with Eleanor, so she looked at Julian and asked, “Why didn’t Eleanor and the childe back with him?”

Julian smiled faintly. “Guess he hasn’t sorted things out yet.”

Julian stepped out of the car. Gabrie ran over immediately and greeted him warmly. “Uncle Dexter!”

Dexter pulled a piece of candy out of his pocket and peeled it open for her. When he saw Gabrie’s little face, it reminded him of Eleanor’s child, causing him to be lost in thought.

Gabrie cupped Dexter’s cheeks and nted a kiss on the tip of his nose. “This sweet kiss is a reward for you.”

Dexter’s eyes reddened. On the side, Julian scoffed, “You’re not young anymore. Try not to embarrass yourself.”

For once, Dexter didn’t fire back. Willow noticed what was going on, but she just smiled and said nothing

It was rare for the Zieglers to have a moment of peace together these days.

At night, Willow tucked the children into bed and returned to the bedroom. Julian was sitting on the reading over some documents.

She couldn’t help but ask, “Was it your idea to send Eleanor to Yarrowmere? I didn’t know y Aik matchmaker.”

Julian nced up at her. “Are you asking about Dexter or Jeffrey?”

Willow smiled and sat across from him on the other sofa. “Which one would you like to talk about?” Under the lights, Julian’s gaze deepened, but his voice remained gentle. “Neither. Are the k is asleep?” Suddenly, Willow felt a little uneasy. After being married for so many years, she knew him well enough to recognize that look. And today… was one of her fertile days.
