Willow was driving much faster than everyone else. She didn’t even care about her safety anymore. It was like she had returned to the year she was 22, when she was brave enough to fight for love.
All of a sudden, the white BMW stalled. Willow kept trying to start the engine, but she failed. Her anxiety was reaching its peak.
After a while, she opened the car door and braved the snow to check on the car. The ice–cold snowkes rained down on her face, sneaking down her cor andnding on her limbs. Soon, she began shivering from the cold.
To make things worse, not only was her car broken down, but her phone was out of battery, too. The blizzard was still raging on relentlessly.
Willow sat in the car silently for a moment, a few unmelted snowkes still caught in her eyshes. It was freezing outside, but there was still no news about Julian’s whereabouts. A few secondster, Willow resolutely opened the car door again and walked forward amidst the wind and snow.
The snow continued falling mercilessly, which was incredibly cold and made her skin sting. It felt so much like when she got kicked in the abdomen that night. That was when she and Julian were at their lowest point as a couple. He had hugged her and said, “All we have is each other, Willow.”
All these yearster, Willow was once again carrying a burden for Julian, lonely yet courageous. There was a vast expanse of snow before her, and behind Willow was the expensive car she had abandoned. She had always been willing to give up everything for Julian.
She walked on for what seemed like forever. She didn’t even know how far she had made it. All she knew was that her body was almostpletely numb. Even so, she couldn’t stop. She was terrified that something had happened to Julian.
Most of the cars on both sides of the sixne highway had stopped, quietly waiting for the snow to stop. Her lone figure trudged through the snow, and she looked incredibly lonely. The deep tracks she left in the snow were the traces of her love for Julian.
A ck Mercedes MPV suddenly stopped next to Willow. When the door opened, she heard Esther’s shocked voice. “Mrs. Ziegler?”
Stunned, Willow slowly turned around. Esther was smart enough to immediately get out to help Willow into the car, but Willow didn’t move. She simply stared at the car and softly asked, “Where’s Julian? Is he in the car?”
Esther hesitated before replying, “Mr. Ziegler has other ns. He might not be back in Brindley for a few more days.”
“Where did he go?” Willow pressed.
Esther didn’t dare to tell her because Julian had gone to Grandsburg with Catherine, but Willow wasn’t easy to fool. In a stern voice, Willow repeated, “Where did Julian go?”
Out of shock, Esther couldn’t help but say, “Grandsburg.”
She couldn’t hide it anymore, so she decided to juste clean. “Mr. Ziegler went there with Catherine. It seemed like something urgent. To be honest, Mrs. Ziegler, I think-”
Willow quietly cut her off. She stood in the ice and snow, and all she could feel was an intense pang in her heart. She had braved the cold snow out of worry for Julian’s safety, and the whole time, he was in Grandsburg with his lover.
She figured the weather in Grandsburg was probably perfect for a vacation right then.
Why would Julian remember the promise he had made to her when he had such a beautiful woman by his side? He had only said all bof /bthose romantic things on a whim and disappeared as soon as the moment was over. Willow, however, had taken him seriously
Willow’s eyshes were covered in snowkes. She gazed at Esther and softly muttered, “Ugh. I’m such a clown.”
